Yeah because when you tab out, the game is minimized (freezed) so it doesn't push your GPU to its limits

@nova sage If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hello! I was adding some extra alert boxes to my starting soon screen in OBS and the preview in stream elements shows the alert fine when testing but nothing happens in OBS. Also now that I am having this problem, my alert box in my live overlay has started doing the same thing. When testing it triggers in stream elements but not OBS

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hello! We have a channel that the chat stats aren't working. It cannot find the channel. Googling the issue, it probably has to do with the change of the channel name, which led us here to try and have them merged so the stats will work again.

@indigo shale There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. we're not really a middle man on the payment. we either display or don't display the alert based on the response from the payment method (when pinged of a successful transaction we show the alert)
in your own revenue history you can see what user information is visible when donating

ive been having a lot of trouble with alerts not going off, mods being unable to do mod commands, takes multiple refreshes of the bot (and sometimes still doesnt work) and its been a disaster for the last week or two. ALL alerts stop working (raid, host, follow, tip, bits). refresh cache, disable, re-enable in OBS (I use obs live). Commands that are mod specific (shoutout for example), remove the source, re-add it. ive tried everything

Hi, I have my StreamElements Bot on my stream, and I added him some commands that are like a counter to when I do something stupid for example "Ramon missed that shot 5 times!"
But when I use this command, it only shows up to me, I want it to when somebody use it, everybody can see the counting. Is it understandable?

Hi everyone i am having problems with my Alert-box. I get the sound to play and i get 1/10 of the animation to show on the screen.

I do think this has to do with how i set up the alert. I think picked the wrong scale?

In windows i run 2560x1440p, and i think i setup the alertbox to be that o. Perhaps that is why i have the issue? Anyone that know what i could do to fix it? 🙂

Hi there! I am troubleshooting visual lag I am getting with overlays. When I copy the Overlay URL into SLOBS the sound plays but I get almost no visuals (perhaps a frame or two of video, extremely laggy). Similarly, opening a new tab in my browser, copying the Overlay URL into it and triggering an event has the same effect, which makes me think it's an issue with the link. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am viewing the link in chrome, unfortunately it just stalls. However it works fine inside the Streamlabs editor, which is what's making me think it might be a link issue. From what I understand Slobs is an Electron application which has a chromium engine built in anyway, which is I guess why the behaviour is the same

Insall OBS Studio, add a browser source, add the link to that and open up task manager (top or htop in osx if i remember correct) and then view the resource usage when triggering an event. and if everything runs smooth try it in SLOBS if it does not run smooth there well then you have the answer where the issue lies

Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
Open Chrome (must be this browser) and type in "localhost:40404"
Click on "StreamElements - Activity feed"
navigate to the Console tab
type in the console this: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration() and hit enter
Try setting the custom bot name again

My TTS doesn't seem to work for donations under 50 bits, whatever I set the TTS minimum amount to. It also seems to ignore if I put it higher than 50 (for instance when I put the minimum to 60, and I emulate a 55 bit donation, it still reads it out in TTS)

Hello. I have a problem where when I stream with OBS.Live to twitch, and select a game category in OBS.Live and change it to Diabotical, The category changes, but then after some time the StreamElements Bot says I'm playing Quake Champions (which I'm not), and my videos are archived as Quake Champions. Any ideas?

Hey there, I'M currently tranforming our overlay pack into a fully cloud based pack using StreamElements and Browsersources in OBS Studio for easier installation for our streamers.
Generally everything works pretty good and easy, BUT:
I sometimes experience that only part of the overlays are loading when switchting scenes, f.e. only one of two Webcam Borders. Or sometimes my foreground layer doesn't load with transparency, instead it's filled out with black (which sucks because most of them are webcam borders which need to be transparent).
Most if not all of the sources bugging out are videos if that helps.

Is that a known bug? Any fixes?
It can be fixed by reloading the cache of this source, but that's nothing I wann do onstream obviously

I received maybe half a dozen new follows today. In the twitch activity feed all are shown. However in the stream elements activity feed (shown in obs.live and the website) only 2 of the 6 or 7 follows are displayed... This also means that only those 2 follows triggered an alert

issue still hasn't been resolved from earlier... Update though. I received a donation and that was recognised by stream elements perfectly. Unless it was a coincidence it seems only new followers fail to show up in the SE activity feed

Please try to close OBS, go to %AppData%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\Cache and clear it (delete everything inside). This should redownload alertboxes

Then try to replay activity from activity feed

Also make sure it meets alertbox criteria (like if alerts of selected type is enabled, minimum tip/cheer/raid/host)

Also make sure you are using proper overlay URL (not the same as overlay Editor URL)

Hmmm. The last one shouldn't be an issue I think as you mentioned that emulated events work in OBS.

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

As far as raids: Twitch has apparently made a "change" that don't sent notifications to their API unless it is 5+ users. This is not something we have control over and are unable to provide alerts for.

Due to reasons that they did not communicate with anyone, Twitch decided not to show raids with less than 5 and sometimes even up to 10 viewers anymore. These will therefore not trigger an alert anymore until Twitch decides to undo this recent change. There is nothing we can do about that and hope that Twitch will revert these changes soon.

I would like to switch to custom bot name but reading the pin on how to do it i dont see oAuth in GC at all and in obs.live settings under custom bot name I see 3options StreamElements and 2 versions of my user name? but no add custom bot option..Ive not changed my Twitch name...am I missing a step to set this up?

You are use your own Twitch name as your bot name you will need to switch back to StreamElements then the custom bot option will come back. To have a "Custom Bot Name" you will need to create a new Twitch account with the desired name.

Hey question: Are the sound alerts not working for anyone else? Sometimes mine work... but sometimes they just don't at all. I have the volume turned up for all the follower/sub/tip alerts and I see the notification on my overlay but no sound.

@sleek leaf If you scroll down to the bottom of the stream settings in OBS.Live you should see a button to remove custom bot name it looks greyed out but you can still click it

@hasty kernel If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@chilly sage Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Hi, I have my StreamElements Bot on my stream, and I added him some commands that are like a counter to when I do something stupid for example "Ramon missed that shot 5 times!"

Hello i had the raid shadow ledgents sponsorship stream and I have some questions
In The text it said to have an overlay but i could only find panels and The goal thing with the alerts so i only streamed with those overlays and I hope it was only then bc i copied the link for obs. Secondly it says in the description that the vod should be saved for 60 days on twitch but that is not possible to do for a affiliate as me, they only stay on there for 14 days and 60 days for partners so how do i do with that one? Should i reupload the stream or is that something you already know?

Hey guys,
So i only switched to streamelements on Friday and for some reason my chat commands aren't working.
I few work like chat stats but most of my features don't work for example the raffle command will start a raffle, many join then it says no one joined the raffle at the end.
No cost commands work either.

I restarted the bot, banned and unbanned everything and it said the bot is running and I made them a moderator but doesn't seem to work at all. :/
Cant find a solution online either.
The only other change I made was that due to an expired token I logged out of twitch, logged back in and reconnect to streamelements before starting the stream.

Any ideas what the issue is?
Would be super grateful for any feedback! Thanks 😊

2) In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404
3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

@agile sandal Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Hmm.. I don't know on what screen I saw it in Twitch. But here you see like some stats of today on Twitch. And on streamelements it's saying 0 viewers, 0 subs et cetera. Quick question. I have an alert variation for gifted subs. I thought the behavior would be that the alert would only go off once, but for some reason, its going off for every sub that was gifted when someone does a 5 or 10 sub gift. I can't seem to find a setting anywhere. My wife is the streamer, I just manage the behind the scenes, and we switched over last week so its still pretty new to me.

@rain heath If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello! we've been having problems with our stream title changing by itself part way through the stream.. it will usually revert back to the previous day's title.. usually we set the stream title in twitch itself.. We use obs to stream... any ideas as to what might be happening?

@sweet socket ok.. we always set the title through twitch.. i did reach out to obs also and they didn't think it was anything on their end... i wasn't sure of there have been issue with SE that way... the only think i could think of was maybe the obslive keep the previous title since we change it on twitch instead of the OBS.. and it some how overwrites it mid stream....

@potent mica the website is chromium optimized, that means that Firefox doesnt support 100% of it, or it gets blocked by plug-ins of your browser etc

If you use an overlay that displays like who was the last person to donate or stuff like that does it automatically put that information on your stream when you start live streaming or do you have to position that and set it up somewhere on twitch

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Unfortunately, its not up to us or the payments mediator, as settling tips is processed by the card issuer, in this case VISA or Mastercard

I've tried and tried and i can not seem to get the overlay to show up in obs. I have tried two different tutorials. am i supposed to "launch" an overlay? I don't see a launch button or tab. i just picked a generic overlay. I am stumped here.

Hi guys, i've some issues with the "redeem" function of StreamElements. One of my viewer can't redeem an item even if he has enough points, StreamElements' bot repeteadly replies with "Sorry you don't have enough points"

10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.
