So everything is perfectly fine on my twitch, but on the YT side its saying no activity even with new subscriber it usually pops up in chat and it's not as of the past few days. It was working fine but no timers, commands or 8ball are even working. Just says its offline

@ocean gate yes. She didn't answer about the Ground Control or OBS.live, so i think she is using only OBS.live. If she is using both applications, tell her not to use it to avoid having this kind of duplicity content (or other issues), in the same way if she has two Ground Control sessions open on Windows (she can see this in the task manager and close all open Ground Control applications).

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, I'm having issues with the stream element bot. I'm trying to type in !command add !test test123 for example and none of them are working. It just responds with the link to my "list of commands". It was working fine until a few days ago and I haven't changed anything. I'm able to change it through the dashboard but unable to type it into the chat box. Also, when typing !setgame/settitle in the chat box it actually doesn't change the info on my Twitch and have to manually do it through OBS.

Hi there, I tried to run my first giveaway today. I filled it all out, and started the giveaway, a notification came up in the twitch channel to say that the giveaway had started, but when people used the !ticket, !enter, !ticket 10, nothing was registering. No notification of entry came up in twitch chat and no registering in the live giveaway page on streamelements.

@near void it could be, that the bot is ignored. You have to go to the settings from your overlay, and in the chat box, you have to click that you don't want to ignore the streamelements bot. It will work, I had the same problem. I hope it helps you bro

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@versed flax If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Let me explain in a little more detail. I'm talking about a way to label a Twitch account as a bot. Similar to Discord bots you would create them differently to a regular user and be able to allow them into your channel. That way you could choose whether bots can receive gifted subs or not in the settings. Obviously this can't happen yet as Twitch would need to implement this but this is an idea on how they could potentially do it. Also most people are going to want their gifted subs to go towards real people. A small amount of people might want to gift subs to bots. @ionic kelp

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Could it be that you have multiple variations for host or tip alerts? Can you test with a default alert that has no variations?
You have a setting in the widget to use the entire screen, plus I personally also changed its size

So in the widget settings the first two options are 'Use the entire screen for emotes', make sure it's enabled
lower number of emotes and their size to rule out any issues with displaying [just to be on the safe side while testing]
make sure you choose 'emotesplosions' and select the alert for it [followers\subs\tips]
and if you have variations, test with a default alert that has none

Hii I have an alertbox that i want to add from SE to OBS, but it doesn't work when i try to emulate events

however, if i duplicate the alertbox onto my other overlays, it seems to work, but i don't know why this is happening

@floral thistle if you're sure you saved the alertbox independent overlay, if it has its own browser source maybe try to Right click on the BrowserSource > Properties > Scroll down a bit > Refresh Cache of current page ?

@foggy wadi shouldn't matter what you stream, if the bot is properly set you should be able to see its reactions
make sure it's joined, modded and unmuted, modules\commands are enabled
that should do it in terms of seeing its reactions

i cant get the media request widget to work in obs, i copy the overlay url and paste it in browser source in obs but it says "NO ACTIVE WIDGETS WERE DETECTED FOR MEDIA REQUEST" i tried using my alerts overlay(they work fine) and making a new overlay just for media but it says the same thing. any help is appreciated

Ok i just read that browser sources are performance killers. So i would like to know that i am using web sources for overlays using stream elements, what can be the alternative if i want to stay on animated overlays only.

I would prefer not tagging, because there is no need to tag you, when my answer is right after your question :)
As for the answer - browser sources are performance killers IF your PC is not up to spec, or not mid to high end tier.

If you read the analyzer links I've provided previously you would see what the issue is with the streams and get some suggestions from the guides on how to fix or adjust that.

There no alternative to a browser source for OBS.
