1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi guys. Ive been working 5 hours straight on this issue, lol but not giving up. So to catch up on my issue. I was not able to see my overlay on my stream because I could not get the streaming live option to work. Finally I was able to go live and the overlay would show but it had a black screen. I was told to add a capture source which I did but still had the black screen. Now im not able to go live again to see if the overlay is working minus the black screen. Any suggestions on what im doing wrong?

@ancient otter the easiest way is to resize it within OBS instead of overlay editor as making complex alertboxes scalable as a code is painful, scaling in OBS just scales canvas and it works out of the box 😉

@sharp gorge Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:
- All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
- Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

I have another solution for you that is really nice. You can use our Mobile APP => https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.streamelements.firestream and set it to "companion mode". With that you will have all alerts and chat on your phone, laying on your desk

I have a HUGE issue with your cheer alerts. Within the alertbox, the rest of the alerts will update, when you change the video, except that one. Even if you remove all the variables, all the variations, remove the audio, it still plays the same alert. Hopefully it can be fixed. Thanks

Hi, I have a streamelements store on my twitch stream and every new followers receives “x” amount of loyalty points but the problem I’m having is that some viewers found out that if they cancel their follow to my stream and follow it back again they receive the “new follower” loyalty points again...

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So I just imported my alerts from Streamlabs. All the settings imported properly, but for some reason, when I emulate the event, it does not display the video I have attached to the alerts. Anyone able to help me with that?

I think the best way is to download that video to your local computer and update it in our alertbox as this is automatic conversion which can have issues depending on data served by source.

might be worth checking your stream key is correct, especially if you changed your twitch password recently. Other than that, make sure your title and game information is set and that you yourself can see your stream is live when you start streaming

Howdies SE support. Leaping from Streamlabs to StreamElements today. Question: How do i stop being in touch with SL after done the importing to SE ? I mean to axe my Streamlabs connection (account) so it won't notify in Ankhbot after done w SE Settings.
Also should i backup my settings from Streamlabs website if there's a way to do it ? I clicked the import via Twitch from those options available as that's the platform i use. Now before giving authorize rights to StreamElements be good to know that how i stop my Streamlabs connections 🙂

@chrome folio I browsed through all & didn't find any to look strange & after that tried to import only points, but still got the same error screen that showed above. I also checked that no Headers in Points file.
So maybe is some other reason than empty lines or lacking response with not failing to import commands & points 😦

@wispy kettle if the counter hasn't yet finished counting and shows 0, even after this procedure, then you must wait 20 minutes. However, if you still see that there aren't all subs in the counter, it may be that some of them didn't share the subscription message when they subscribed with Prime or did Resub.

@chrome folio SE is actually showing an over-count. So I see it went from 27 ➡ 25 today on the dashboard. But then SE said 29 ➡️ 26 after the reset. It's still over by one. I wanted to add a subscriber goal using the "subscriber count" label, but if it's showing the incorrect number—then I might as well manually type it in on screen; otherwise, I'd like to use the label as I'm assuming that means the label for sub count automatically updates as soon as someone subscribes?

@wispy kettle about this difference in value, on Twitch they recognize the streamer as a subscriber, but, they omit the streamer in the count. However, the listing that SE receives from Twitch have the streamer's name as a subscriber and therefore the count remains +1.

ive tried to stream again today. Apparently i did take the Internet Speed Test, it said its working smoothly. Im tryna solve the crashing thing with my streams because it is still being un stable. What Im tryna to do is stream without interruptions. How do i do this when EVERYTHING is connected??
And stupid question: Is wifi for phone and Internet for computer or am i just an idiot and wifi is for computer too. And if I use Internet Explorer for my streams INSTEAD of google would it stop crashing?

Like, Im using OBS studio and the livestream itself on twitch got unstable and everything. EVEN THOUGH i did internet speed test. Its Twitch screwing up not OBS because OBS works perfectly fine

@normal igloo If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSOTM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Some staff's support person wanna take a look at my Commands & Points excel files so could get this import fail prob. solved ? I sent them to tehbasshunter (sudo rm) couple hrs ago, but he / she went offline just after wrote to send them via dm. Done the import step by step like shown at StreamElements support page, but always gives failed pop up window. I've also checked that there's no header in points file & commands don't have empty lines & responses are ok.
So wonder what' causing it ? Ankhbot client not working or. I've configured many other things in my StreamElements account now so almost everything else starting to be rdy for first rest "run" that be doing tomorrow after work.

🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Currently am not able to change my title or change my game being played via the Streamelements OBS. When I go to backspace to erase the Stream title, nothing happens, and even if I make no changes to the game or anything, it prompts me to save, and if I don't, it deletes the line of text saying what game is being played.

howdy, having troubles with the contest. whenever somebody in the chat puts in the command to enter (!bet win 200) it doesnt come up in the contest dashboard for me. am i missing something? seems like they arnt being picked up at all. its been like this ever since ive known about it, wanted to make sure its not bugged

I'm trying to get a mp3 to play in/on the overlay-editor on the elements site but it wont play. I appreciate any help I get to solve this. I've uploaded the file. Looped and play sound but nada 😦

You can't even add an mp3 to a video widget.
It's for video files, not audio files.

@steep flame If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.

@safe summit Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

@slender bobcat Due to a recent change from Twitch API, these features are affected by the change:
- Ground Control does not have Custom Bot Name
- Subscriber count will count the Channel and any other permanent sub you may have (+1 or +2 or +3 on top).
We are working on fixing both issues, but there is no ETA.
OBS.Live still has Custom Bot name working fine in it.

Hello! I need some help with the variations from the subscripcions alerts. The alerts work perfectly but when the info appears in the Event List, the gifts don't appear right. When someone gifts 5 subs, it appears that they resubbed for 5 months, not that they gifted 5... how can I fix it?

Please understand that every setup will be very different.
Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.
You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.
Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

@silent yacht First one is due to adding an additional message to a Timer in your account without editing the message. Regarding the commercial issue, please provide a screenshot of the response.
