You need head over to your streamelements dashboard here https://streamelements.com/dashboard. Then go to My Overlay if you haven't chosen an overlay. Then create a blank overlay to enter the overlay editor

From there, add the widge, position, save and copy link. And add the link as a browser source in OBS

By default, the text is black, you might want to go into text setting and change to a more legible color. No, it doesn't replace OBS.. You just adding overlay onto your stream, ie the text chat widget into OBS

It's simple when you get the hang over it... THere alternatives to adding text chat to ur stream. Not sure it's allowed here.

Hey, I was wondering if there was anyway to import my overlay from http://Player.Me into your system and edit everything from there? I wan't to switch over but it seems like such a pain to get all my alerts and widgets setup again.

Going through each alert and setting it up the same way is almost nearly impossible and would take hours to do. Maybe there was an easier way to do everything.

ok im going to post the alert with the problem i explained above, if you look at the box directly underneath webcam, you will see the name flicker as there is a native delay in the alert starting to which the stream label has beat it by a second or so. any ideas or work around ideas would be fantastic as i dont have a neat way of fixing this any other way. annoying thing is too its not all the time, sometime it works flawlessly!

i made a follow alert too if ya wana see? just annoying i cant simulate the menu correctly with annoying delays. only other thing i can think of doing is using the dreaded SLOBS as they save labels on the system therefor already have a delay in updating. i mean waiting for people to want to up vote, realise they are not logged in, then cba and leave to get a simple feature added.

Not 100% sure if this is the right spot, but working on overlays any time I try to edit the Advanced text tab on a variation of an alert, the "padding" section gets pushed off the screen and the only way I can change it is scaling to like 40% size, which makes it near impossible to see. Tested at 900p, 1080p, 1440p on different systems. Wondering if anyone has a fix for that, as changing 15 variations and having to mess with my system for every single variation is extremely tedious and seems like some sort of oversight in how the editor is scaling the options windows.

As a secondary suggestion (maybe there's a better spot for this, if so point me in the right direction) having to reopen the variations menu every single time you want to test a change is frustrating compared to how easy it is to alter and test base options in an overlay feature. Would be cool if there was a way to edit variations with the same ease as other options 🙂

Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. FireFox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

1. Press win+r to open the Run dialog
2. Paste the following into the box and hit OK: %APPDATA%\obs-studio\logs
3. Then find the desired log file (usually the latest) and drag/drop it into this channel.

• Ground Control does not have Custom Bot Name
• Subscriber count will count the Channel and any other permanent sub you may have (+1 or +2 or +3 on top).
  We are working on fixing both issues, but there is no ETA.
  OBS.Live still has Custom Bot name working fine in it.

So question.. How do I link my live chat to an overlay? I'm using a super theme that I edited or whatever and my accounts are linked but when I try to test it out by typing in chat it doesn't show up on the overlay in obs

Am I just stupid or what? lol

Hi I’m having an issue with one of my chat overlays , it stopped showing BTTV emotes ?

I have a nerd or die chat widget and I’ve talked to them and they’ve told me it’s not on their end and it’s streamelements side. Is there a setting I need to reset or is it down or what can I do?

@odd temple Counters? you could add a custom command with this variable ${count <name>} thats Displays the <name> counter and increments it by 1. <name> defaults to the command-id
