Hey guys, is there a known issue with SE Overlay alerts at the moment?

Clamtaco is live and alerts are not playing, when we refresh the overlays in OBS the first alert plays fine then any following alerts break.

Tested using my own channel and over lay and my own OBS same things happening

as clams overlays were failing on my OBS as a test also.

yeah, what kiwa said. id try that, also window capture costs more ressources than display capture as far as i know. so switching that could also help with the performance.

because if you set your bitrate to 6k its not for sure your pc or your Lan cable can handle that.
Same goes for the viewer. with those settings you FORCE other viewers to have a 6k bitrate internet connection

and most people view via mobile devices

I don't know who to message about this but, for the last month my host alerts haven't been showing up and I have done EVERYTHING possible to reset it and them to show and it's just my hosting that isn't working..

I use OBS.Live and they don't even show up in my OBS.Live activity feed, but they do show up in my chat. My husband using SE and all his alerts work. I don't know what is going on. Any help would be great! I have looked around on the forums and have done everything suggested there.

Hello. My alerts are triggered as usual but after 2-3 sec i hear it again in a horrible echo. I have tried to use "shutdown when not visible" on my other scenes without success. Anyone know what to do?

1. check to make sure you don't have it open in any browsers (just close all the browsers you have open, or mute them).
2. Double check ALL your browser sources in all scenes to make sure that box is checked. You wouldn't believe the number of times just one or two get missed.

@vast hawk the "shutdown when not visible" is OBS Studio specific, not OBS.Live. It works perfectly for me and anyone else. It is likely one of those sources didn't have the box checked

if you just enabled, then there would still be no time tracked, it adds points per every 10 min, and uses this system to calculate the watch time

@tacit garden 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly. There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points. It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time. Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Hello lovely people. I have a giveaway running in my channel and I see that the bot will confirm purchased tickets if someone uses the chat itself to buy them. Is there a way to make the bot confirm ticket purchases even if not bought by the chat?

It’s a very good way to market the channel after all hence the use of giveaways in the first place. It would be useful to have ticket confirmations printed in the chat no matter how or where they were purchased.

@neat pond you have to use the exact same variable name when using the count variables. You use $(count deaths) to increase the count. Then $(getcount deaths) to just retrieve the current value

if you change the name of the variable (deaths to lives)

they are two very different counts

even death and deaths would have different values

Dacty, if you wish for people to use points then head over to Loyalty Settings. If you have them enabled you can change the currency/points name. I have mine set to "treyinq moneys". Then you can choose how much a person gets for watching your stream. Even below that you can choose how much points they get for following, hosting and if people tip they can get a point bonus.

If the bot rename option is also filled out in GC, it can cause conflicts. GC really does not need to be used if you use OBS.Live for the bot rename, as you get the activity feed built right into OBS

yes, GC does not have anything to do with notifications, those will come in regardless of OBS or GC running. As for the Media Request, it is really not recommended to use GC for the Media Request, and to use the site itself. Currently, we are working on adding Media Request to OBS.Live, and once that is done GC will get updated to work better with it as well, but at that point, you really will just need OBS.Live. For now, its best to just use the Media Request page from the site itself

@heady knot On Twitch you may share your original content, so I think that sharing stream of somebody else may break rules. Check Twitch community guidelines and Terms of Service, to be sure if you can do that

Hello! I was working on the roulette command and KeiZar was helping me out. I had to go do some stuff then came back and the command isn't still working. It says "Controlled my module settings" i enabled the Roulette module but isn't working.

Do i have to enable something else for that command and module to work?

What I did was I added a different Twitch Stream to OBS cause one is a podcast, the other is me. After I ran into this issues and when I add the original key back it still does not work.

If you set the timer to 10min on SE you can just tell the browser source in OBS to refresh every time it is loaded. Then you can just reload the scene and the timer will start at 10 again.

Consoles on their own cannot support overlays and alerts. They don't have the functionality. You need to use a capture card or some kind of remote play with your PC to use them. Otherwise, it's just chatbot and tipping page.

I'm trying to edit a few of my video and pictures to fit the theme of the overlay. This requires odd-angles or rotation of the 'gif' or 'webm'. But I've not stumbled upon a means to, rotate, invert, flip, or otherwise transform my 'asset'. Is this simply, not part of the Editor in this point of time? If so, is it a planned future update, or should I invest my time in altering the 'assets' through third party tools and them 'implement' them to the StreamElements editor?

@fluid dust No such controls in the editor, just moving and scaling. An overhaul of the editor is planned, though I can't comment on whether any additional controls will be added as I just don't know.

Can someone briefly explain exactly what low latency mode in StreamElements (Found under Advanced -> Network -> Low Latency Mode) does? Would it help with dropped frames? I have low latency mode disabled on twitch but as far as I gather they're entirely different things.

Low latency mode is a specific OBS Studio option for Twitch. Afaik, both sides need to turn the feature on in order to have like a 0.5-1 second delay between the chat and you

but this is on demand thing and priority is on big streamers afaik.

Thats afaik really. By default I think OBS tries to stream on 0 latency entirely, but the delay is caused by the travel time of your encoding towards the servers and then towards the viewers really...if this makes sense

It does make sense. I've had quite an interesting experience with this setting and was curious what's been happening. Having both low latency enabled on BOTH Twitch and OBS (version 22.0.2) resulted in a few hundred frames being dropped every once in a while, resulting in about 0.5 - 1% frame loss. Having them both off resulted in huge frame drops, about 5%. However, having low latency disabled on my Twitch dashboard and enabled in advanced network settings in OBS resulted in a 0% frame drop in a 30m stream test I just finished running.

any small amount of frame drop can be caused when overloading your hardware

I know I've been fiddling around for days I'm quite content to have found this solution which works for me, I doubt everyone would have the same experience.

I've tried auto and the London Servers which are the ones closes to me, manually setting to London seems to work best. As for a hardware overload, I keep an eye on my CPU/GPU usages anything over 80% and I turn down the settings, so I'd be surprised if it's that.

The issue could be some congestion on my home network. A reddit post I read (therefore, take it with a grain of salt ^^) said that enabling low latency in OBS could help with that since it breaks up the packets into smaller ones. My speeds should be more than enough, 21MBPS upload on Fiber broadband.

oh that's awesome. I dual stream with my wife, she'll be happy to hear that. Sometimes we have to move logos around and she's the design expert. Normally I have to stop gameplay to edit something.
