It can still play sounds, due to it being a YOUTUBE embeded video. If you play a playlist from youtube, it can autoplay next video without being tabbed on it.

@onyx thistle The media share thing has worked very well in the past, on streams as big as Sodapoppin. I am not sure what specifically is causing your issue, it is a tough thing to diagnose at this point. I would recommend force refreshing the media request page, and clearing the browser cache in OBS for the overlays that have the widget, then sending the videos to the overlay again. Sometimes this helps reset everything back to ground zero, and helps get things back on track

That is the hard part. I am not sure when it comes to console, I don't stream on console. If the sounds for friends come from the PC, then you need to somehow get the game onto the PC (capture card), and use a broadcasting software to capture the sounds and everything.

@onyx thistle What broadcasting software are you using? Another option is to launch the overlay in the browser, mute the tab, and then try to send to overlay. Soemtimes this helps the module detect the active overlay. Some broadcasting software has that issue

So. I'm wondering if this is a problem that other people are experiencing. Whenever I stream, the first time my sub or bit triggers, it always ends early. I have to redo it to get the full gif to play.

I've recreated it from scratch and the problem still persisted.

But once OBS plays it once, its cached and can play from any point of the gif it self. Its best to use a .webm(video) as it can have sound in it as well.

As for balancing all videos, thats a bit tricky as its dependent on the video it self

So been trying to run a giveaway and its been acting weird. I will set my give away to a certain price like 5000 set the 1st ticket is always free, but when the viewers go to buy the ticket its putting them in the negative. For example I had given a viewer 5000 points to buy just one ticket. The viewer does the !ticket it confirms the purchase when he runs the !points command it now shows he is -5000 not 0 . Any thoughts or tips?

What do I have set wrong? It is 1940 local time for me on Thursday, I just finished my streaming and looked at my schedule and it says I'm streaming again at time posted instead of 2 days + 19 hours etc... Thanks in advance you guys are awesome.

1. Game capture. This will capture most games. Key word is most, some games block this from happening as it is also a way to "hack". don't ask me how, idk.
2. Window Capture: This will just capture the window of any program. Good to capture 99% of programs, without capturing anything else.
3. Desktop capture: Litterally means what it says. Captures your entire desktop, one monitor at a time

Hi, so I renamed my twitch account, and now the dashboard isn't loading for me ... I've tried fresh browsers, incognito tabs, etc. This is the first time logging in on this PC ever (new build). I just get a white screen.

Sounds like a DNS or cookie problem. Renaming causes issues but things still load with renames

4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Found a BUG, If you have no pre selected audio sound selected on an alert and try to play a audio clip uploaded theres no AUDIO what so ever until have a "alert sound" enabled.

TO test this yourself here's the steps

1. Clear Sound on a alert
2. Click Choose Sound and then try to hit the play button
3. You will realize you cannot test your audio unless you have one pre selected

I’m having some issues with Timers. I’d like one of my timer messages to go off ever five minutes or so, but it seems like each one operates on its own timer, by which I mean that if they are set to five minutes, they all go off every five minutes. I tried changing it to 45 instead, but they are all still going off together instead of being spread out so that they start repeating at 45 minutes. Am I missing a way to synchronize them somehow, so that they go off regularly, but spread out.

@slim wagon each timer is individual, so if you set them all for 5 min, they will all fire at once. You will need to space them out, and try to do it in a way they don't overlap to spam too much

@lost garden uploading an image should not do anything with the quality, unless the source image is of poor quality. If it's a high quality PNG, I would not expect any quality loss

So, I'm trying to create custom shoutout commands for some of my favorite followers but I can't seem to get the channel's game to pull in - it only does mine or just shows the variable. I've tried searching online and am not having much luck.

so if you do !shoutout username it will use the info from the username passed

did you check if there is a minimum amount of viewers set to display the host alert? to see if this is the case, go to your overlays, open your alert box. check if the there is a check mark next to "host alert". if yes, click on the cog to the right of it and check what the number at "minimum amount" says.

when you get a chance, I would definitely recommend updating OBS, I believe with the version you are on the updater was broken, so you will want to get the newest installer from their site

your scenes should not be touched at all, if you want, you can export them to have as a backup just incase

If you run the new installer it should just run as an upgrade, and everything should remain as it was. There were a few major updates to the browser source, and hopefully that will help
