I can really customize at my own will and still have all things on the cloud, and not having new followers lose the follow points because the stream is offline

@ivory holly fresh install? you have to adjust the settings first. set the proper encoder, bitrate and path for the recording. the start button is for streaming, you need twitch (or any other platform) server and key to make that work.

Can you please provide a log from your last stream. You can find this log in " %appdata%/obs-studio/logs " OR Help > Log Files > Show Log Files. You can simply drag and drop the log file into Discord.

so, it looks like OBS does the forward slashes itself, and that is not the problem

for whatever reason, the OBS UI is doing that, but I just used the same path you are using, and records without a problem

I think your only option at this point would be to try a different encoder

nvenc is not a good encoder anyways

looking into the error on OBS forum, its either the output path, or the encoder for most users getting this error

if you look up the error, like the forum post above, this error can happen on any version of OBS, and does not seem like something that a patch can magically fix, especially if its related to it not being able to write to locations on your system

The overlay does not need to be 60 fps, you can set the overlay to whatever fps you want, its just 60 will be smoother than 30

Do you have more than one redemption widget? If you have more than one overlay in obs, you will hear repeat sounds unless you select "Shutdown source when not visible" in the browser source settings

@low bloom 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly. There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points. It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time. Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Hmmm, I'd not want it to cost the mods, and we like to spam them during celebrations. Maybe I'll make a SE Ideaboard post about having it as a purchaseable thing without having a command cost so users can still do it but at a high cost, while mods can still use it regularly.

Unfortunately, mods can be except from cooldowns, but not points, so maybe the idea here should be having an option to have mods except from loyalty points usage/cost 😉

Haha, I actually am one of those mods 😉 I'm a mod for my gf who is an art streamer, so doesn't really have easy access to "compensate" points as she's always hands-on with the artwork. Still, I can see merits in all the suggestions here and I've learned something new too.

If I'm around I can bonus the mods some points but if I'm not around, Sarah would just see bonusing mods as a hassle that takes her away from actively streaming xD

Yup. You can create a free item in your stream store and create a custom command to trigger it, and it'll play a gif/video/image and a sound.

keep in mind that when you name the redeem, people will need to type that, so try to keep it short, i'm running almost 60 rght now and ive narrowed them down to characters, so joker1, joker2, joker3, etc, instead of the actual phrase

come to think of it, as long as your stream elements is linked to obs, you don't need a store redemption widget

The reason you still hear the StoreRedemption Widget is probably because you have the widget in another overlay of yours and that overlay is in a diffrent scene @heady knot

So you didn't check the "hide if not visable" box in that Browsersource of your OBS scene. Meaning the alert still playes even though the Scene and Overlay you are in doesn't have the Store Redemption Widget

@rough jacinth GC is a older version then our Media Request feature. We are currently working on GC 2.0 where MediaRequest will be integrated and fixed. For now we advise you to use Google Chrome for Media Request. Since there it works best!

There's no real way to know what's going to be hit by Twitch for copyright and get muted. You'll need to find royalty free music, probably on Youtube since it can work with our media request feature and display on your overlay.

Phones can't apply an overlay to a console stream. Consoles don't have the functionality to support overlays. You need a capture card to connect it to your PC and stream from there.

One note on the text scaling. Having mine at 150% made the OBS UI nice, but made the text in the SE plugin too large. Challenge now is that the text int he SE plugin may be too small to read on my shop TV at a distance. I noticed the Activity Feed widget has a text size slider. Being able to change text size for the chat widget might also be helpful.

you need to add the overlay at what ever resolution you created it as

if you made an overlay that is 1920x1080 that is just the chat widget, you need to add it at that resolution, and you could move it around as you please. The alternative would be to make the overlay a smaller resolution

Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

I love using timers to get information out on stream. I have one timer running and would like to enable a second. I would like it to work out so there's a message every 30 minutes and the two messages rotate. So timer A runs at 7:00 and timer B runs at 7:30 and so on. But if I set them both to 30 minutes they both run at the same time every half hour. Is there any way to alternate them?

Well im using OBS for the first time and i found where to change my speakers and mic over but i cant find the settings for my web camera

but I am pretty sure xsplit can be used as a "virtual camera" so it will show up in OBS as a video source
