its most likely their browser source not handling the .mp4. Your options are going to be use OBS Studio, or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live, or convert the .mp4 to webm

I saw that someone posted that you could change the bot name of stream elements and I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to do it

• StreamElements bot modded and in chat
• Active overlay with alerts
• StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
• Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
• Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

thats just a pic of a white box. If you want to use that with chat in an overlay, add the image to your overlay with the overlay editor, and add the chat widget on top of it in the overlay

my issue is i have created my layers in streamelements i've copied url to obs. I have the alerts and text for different places on my setup for twitch

however when someone follows

the alerts do not fire

the custom text does not show their names

it doesn't work

If you go to activity feed, then widget data, then go to the totals page, then hit the reset there. When you are offline, it refreshes maybe once an hour. When live, it should update every 5 minutes or more often

That's because we dont track people that unfollow you

So you need to go any overlay you have and edit it> click on data on top left > goals
And adjust your follower data

I am using the overlay editor and notice that there is an issue with the "custom events list". But it's a really strange issue, if I look at the page in Firefox all of the items are correct, however if I look at exactly the same page in Chrome (which is what OBS uses) it displays a completely different (wrong) set of events.... i'm just using the default code

I can show you what I have created so you can see what I'm trying to do if that helps, its quite complicated but uses the custom events list to update things in real time as they happen. the only problem is the data is not correct

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

It's acting really weird but it seems to work as long as I don't save the overlay, but as soon as I do it stops. I've also tried moving it to other overlays where it works, but then I start working on it there and it breaks again.

I have enable the online points system from streamlabs, and, it look like I can't go back with the offline currency by the ChatBot without loose all the points of my viewers and there have no export option in the website... If you check the layer item on the one that does not show in OBS it's most likely marked as being hidden. Some overlays have different elements to give you choose from

if it's an animated theme, try one that is static, also make sure to tick shutdown source when not visible on all browser sources, on all scenes

also you should try fullscreen and game capture instead of capturing desktop

I would try resetting the cache on all your overlays, and making sure they are all set to "shutdown when not visible". I would also recommend closing all your browsers and starting fresh, just to make sure. If it continues, check your overlays for duplicate widgets

unless you have duplicate widgets in an overlay, the audio has to be coming out of multiple sources for an echo. Media Request echos can also be caused by having the site open, and Use Song request enabled in Ground Control

@ashen ginkgo what is your current bitrate? and is it actually dropping, like seeing red in OBS? if OBS is just dropping your bitrate, it could be related to the Twitch server you are using

@spiral osprey there is "TTS settings" for all alert types in the alert wigdet. What exactly is the issue?

@light mauve the timers trigger on chat lines not unique chatters. A 30 minute timer is a long one for just 1 actuql chatter. Usually there is an internal 5 minute timer where the bot awaits thw specified chat line. When its met, the timer you have placed is triggered

Well, essentially I want it to mention the discord channel every 30 minutes, regardless of how many people are present. I had it set to 0 and it never played at all.

Is there no way to set it to do that?

You can set it to 0 but if no one chats within 5 minutes the internal timer will reset

@copper bobcat that part of the stream report only shows Revenue. Revenue is money made before costs are subtracted. The reason we do this is that everyone gets a slightly different cut, based on where they are at in the world, and what their contract States (partners can get a better cut than affiliates).

Ultimately, the problem I'm running into is my chat was active but it only displayed the line twice in an 8 hour period, despite the above settings. For the majority of it only one person was chatting and it popped up shortly after more people came in, so I'm assuming it only triggers if the chatter is different than whoever triggered the previous one. Can anyone confirm?

So the timer should trigger when one person talks 5 minutes before the 30 minute window is up. If you set it to zero chat lines, it should in effect, fire off every 30 minutes

that is my understanding of timers

okay thanks, yeah its just a bit weird cos i have a follower goal and alerts setup alongside the chat feed which dont trigger but when i get hosted it pops up which is weird

yeah, its just the way we collect followers disconnect (very) occationally, and we just have to reconnect it

@weary mist Yeah, that's my understanding as well, but it doesn't seem to be performing that way. That's why I asked - I think it might be misbehaving, or at least behaving differently than in the documentation.

I'm not sure I understand the '5 minutes' part - I understood that it would always wait the MinTime (30), then if a chat line hadn't been sent it would poll again every 5 minutes, does that sound right?

no. think of it more like polls every 30 minutes, but only checks the last 5 if there has been a chat line

But right now, you have it set to 1 chat line, so 1 has to be said before it will trigger

OK, that would explain the confusion; is there any way to ignore the 'last 5' rule? That seems highly error prone.

not at this time. I would recommend setting the chat lines to zero, and I will keep your channel open to track the chat. It should trigger every 30 minutes, and if it doesn't, I will poke people very annoyingly
