the api might not be able to handle your name properly as far as I can tell

hello, i am having an issue with the overlays (the while in game overlay to be specific) that make my stream drop frames, hoping some1 can help.

depends on your system specs (cpu, gpu) your encoder settings, if it is an animated overlay or has other resource heavy widgets, like kappagen and hype cup. Scrolling text has also been know to cause some issues on certain systems

Is it a static or animated overlay, if you are using an animated overlay you will want to try static, OBS log from your stream can also help confirm what exactly caused dropped frames if you were truly dropping frames, if you go to help > logs> open log locations and find the log from your stream we can see what it says was dropping frames

Yes you can, but if you are really dropping frames it will be more useful to see a log. If it's a matter of it not even having frames, like OBS is low, it's overloading your system

@brazen harbor well, you are not going to be able hit 60 fps with the overlay on that system, a few things to note, Lanczos filter is going to be to intensive for this setup, try bicubic, run OBS as administrator, also go into settings > advanced and make sure the process priority is set to high

@violet vigil do you hear the audio for the alert, and just not seeing the alert, or are you getting nothing at all? have you also ensured the overlay is added at the proper resolution?

Is there currently a way for users to see their position in the redemption list for a specific item? That is part of the redemption history and for the streamer(and their editors)'s eyes only. This is due to, that you can request specific information on some items that your viewers may only want to share with you(if you are giving away stickers and need their address/P.O. Box).

If you are using a pre-made overlay(one of ours) they are made for 1080p, so its best to leave them at 1080p and add them as 1920x1080 browser source. After you add them as 1080p to OBS, hit CTRL+F. This will "squsih"/fit the overlay to your OBS canvas

@high bear If you did the refresh after the missed bits happened there is a chance those events were just lost, there are some improvements that are being worked on that should make alerts more reliable. Reloading the overlay or refreshing the cache usually solves this. Please post here again if it happens again

I have not had a good way to test this properly, but I did notice this happen in a stream earlier today, where the second song requested shorty after the frist song showed as #1 playing / now, when really it was the next song on deck to play

• Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
• Ground Control app must be running

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

There are some planned improvements to the alert systems that will make them more reliable, and this should be a rare occurrence. I will note this where I noted the other user experiencing the same thing

Has the alert overlays been changed since yesterday? My videos seem to stop early and don't play the entire length of the alert. I think it is related to the "text disappearance offset" in the animation settings as setting this to 0 allows the whole video to play?

yes done lots of testing and it seems the text offset is also pausing the video at the same offset

I have been using the same overlays for 6 months, and today I have just noticed that the videos are not playing fully. I can set the offset to 0 to play the whole video but then the text doesn't disappear at the right time

Several factors will be involved, your system specs (CPU/gpu) what encoder settings you are using, what you are streaming, and if you are using a resource heavy animated overlay, or resource heavy widgets, like hypecup and kappagen

Try a static overlay, 1050ti is not that powerful of a card for playing games and handling encoding, maybe a statci overlay will provide a bit less stress on the CPU and will smooth things out a bit

the original !8ball module has around 30-40 default responses, so you will have either sacrifice the entire module and replace it with jokes
