@fair notch Ok, so you have 2 PCs. One is for streaming and one for gaming. You need to plug(don't know how) the gaming PC in the capture card, which in term should be in your Streaming PC. When both machines are working, then that button should work...I think....

If your UPLOAD speed is bellow or at 5mbps, the most you can stream at is 3000bitrate! Most people have 10mpbs upload which is more that enough to stream at 3000-3500 bitrate and have a minimalistic overlay!

for 720p60fps you're looking at ATLEAST 3500bitrate, then imagine any browser sources, and background apps, your online game might be DRM, 5mpbs isn't good

when you make a new Timed Message it comes with preset times we think fits good 
it all depends on how active your chat is really
if its more active displaying a message every 10 minutes after 20 Chatlines will get annoying
if your chat is not that active having 5-10 Chatlines every 20-30 Minutes is fine
Offline depends I think its not THAT important since being on a Stream Page that is offline isnt happening to often

The original coder a mod of mine did it for nightbot but i've disabled nightbot now trying to streamline
Also subcount shows i have for example 22 subs , but for some reason the overlay widgets values don't correspond, they are at a higher value which is surpass the goal value. Trust this example is clear enough.

not with what is playing on your computer. If you don't want to do song requests, you could make a playlist of the same songs in youtube, and set that as the backup playlist, and play it through our system, then it will come through the browser
as a bonus, it would be available if you ever streamed from a different location/pc

@shadow oxide we have a new connection with twitch, and we receive all the host alerts now. It is much more consistant than the last connection. You can make it so the alerts don't pop for low viewer count hosts in the alert settings. As for follows, those should enter the alert queue as soon as the person hits the follow button (about a .75 second delay)

bit of general advice guys if possible, current got my stream working lovely via 4K60 Elgato from PS4 into my PC via OBS and using one of your simply amazing overlays for Destiny 2 (thanks for that little beauty!) one issue I'm having.....so i'm using a snowball mic for commentary and have my Astro A40's via mix amp connected to my pc, I do this so I can mute my game chat and speak to my stream however when both are on they here double me lol, do you know of a way to make this sound better or some kind of balancer? dont think there will be but thought I would ask?

So what I did was, I uploaded to the stream element cloud bunch of sounds and since I have bunch of them I set them up as global cooldown of 240 and user cooldown of 240

I think the best way I could do it is @weary mist 's method of setting a cooldown on the !redeem command
The main problem I was having of this was several people writing at the same point of time to redeem a song, this way, during that exact moment, whoever writes it first will get their sound effect played.

Media request breaks my computer. It doesn't load everytime and I need to alt-tab from my game everytime (I play exclusive fullscreen) when I stream = lag. I don't run a very good computer. Its not full songs either by the way, just certain parts of the songs and a lot of special effects sounds too.

I do know that sometimes third-party programs do stop certain things from loading (it wouldn't be a first time), but the tipping settings page is new, so we haven't had a lot of reports of this kind of thing. If you find out what is stopping the page from loading, let us know

the only thing we can do is timeout/ban people. If links are coming through as ***, then that is a twitch setting. if you see a link, and it goes to <message deleted>, then go to the spam filters part of the dashboard and turn off link protection

Yes, but isn't the issue that the bot is sending the messages through your account instead of the one you made for your bot?
To fix that simply log in your bot's account when setting it up on ground control, not on your account

Custom bot name requirements
- StreamElements bot modded and in chat
- Active overlay with alerts
- StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
- Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
- Ground Control app must be running
Steps to enable custom name
- Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
- Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
- Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
- Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
- Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

@lament blade you have to make sure to add the alert box from the My Overlays section, as any tips through our link will not alert in StreamLabs, and any tips through them will not alert in our box. So make sure your tip link and alert box browser source are set up properly

For twitch prime, the user needs to have sharing enabled on https://www.twitch.tv/settings/prime. the webm itself has a 1 second duration, the notification shows up for 4, it plays once and becomes a static image for the rest of the remaining 3

Since my text widget is not linked to any kind of event, how do I set the amount of time it stays after it appeared and how do I make it appear/activate it manually without it being linked to an event?

@onyx bronze The animation setting is mostly used for the Alerts widget to show how its going to fade in/out or some other show&tell type animation.
Usually most other widgets are statically shown. Not sure if you can enable said animation on them as well(for example - Top Tipper[of the day] usually stays always on)
(Unless I'm mistaken on how to enable the animation settings for said static widgets..gonna check now just in case)

Yeah, that's what I thought. I created a scoreboard text widget for a tournament that's coming up but I don't want to show it all the time, only when the score changes. I could just show or hide it manually but an animation would be very nice

Maybe that is possible to do with a plain txt file and you add it to the sources of OBS and just show/hide it when changes happen to said text file. Other thing which I can suggest for your needed scoreboard is perhaps a Custom Event List, but you may need some skill in CSS+JS, but I don't think there is a way to update it externally and only via certain calls.(Custom API call to said txt file hosted on a server?? )

Yeah, that was what I was doing so far. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to do that but I might have an acquaintance who could do that

If you get that person to do it for you, you can provide him with the Custom Event List Variable list located in #dev-chat pinned messages
Those may help him figure something out, but most likely the CSS+JS will have to call for a text file located in a hosted location with an external API call. Not sure if the Custom Event List provides that function my self, but just an idea.

The follow "scene" is a widget that is part of the overlay.
You can have only the alert widget, click save, then "launch", copy the link and add it like so in OBS

Schau mal du hast ganz links unten SZENEN und rechts daneben LAYER (und rechts daneben audio und transitions bla bla bla)
bei LAYER's musst du Fortnite rein tun
und drΓΌber die URL von deinem Overlay

dann musst du in den Overlay editor gehen
und alle anderen grafik elemente lΓΆschen oder ausblenden
ODER du machst ein neues Overlay das Leer ist.
Gehts in das Overlay mit der Alertbox
Klickst die alertbox an
und klickst auf das kleine "Dublizier" zeichen mit dem roten punkt an
Dann kannst du die alert box in das neue Leere Overlay Dublizieren
und die URL vom neuen Overlay wo nun nur die Alertbox drinnen ist.
StreamElements funktioniert eben so das alle Graphic elemente in einem Overlay gesoeichert werden statt 100 Verschiedene Overlay URLS haben zu mΓΌssen wie bei anderen anbietern
weil 1 link einfacher ist π

ok so im trying to set up my alerts box and i have a video in it that is a little long is there a way i can make it not fire off the video alert to often by putting a time restriction on it and make a different alert fire when that one dosnt?

@thorn lily Tips/cheers/subs only offer a variation option. Both support a duration for each alert.
The Alert duration should cut off what remains in the .webm video

i know i can turn down how long it fires but i have to have it at 17.5 sec to make the video play what i need. the issue is if i have 6 people follow in a row i dont want it to play the video 6 times
i still want a notifactaion to pop up to show someone else has followed

ok so im looking at the variation page and im not quite understanding how i would set it up to make the first one play my 17 sec vid but then make it play a shorter 2 or 3 sec vid for the rest

If you open up the Variation page
And put another Variation there you can upload a diffrent gif /png /webm
And Set a new duration also
You can Set up many Variations it will just play randomley

Okay! So. I'm currently using OBS CLASSIC, I know, my GPU died this morning and my normal backup GPU is also busted, so, I had to go to a THIRD backup GPU, which is unsupported by OBS Studio, so I'm just doing what I can. I'm attempting to use my Streamelements layout, but it doesn't work- it just shows a "Help" button at the bottom of the screen which, I can't click because browser source, obviously. I tried googling the problem but it's surprisingly hard to find information on, but I did see something about it being a "Browser Caching issue". I turned on Advanced settings, and tried both Disabled and Enabled for the browser cache, but neither setting worked.
I realize that OBS Classic is unsupported, I'm just doing what I can to keep the Stream Dream alive 
I'm currently running a Twitch Inspector test and it seems to be working just fine, framerate is stable even if my settings are very low; but the overlays just aren't working.

Yeah, sadly we don't support OBS Classic in any capacity, our system doesn't run on it and therefore we don't have any advice to give other than try to use OBS Studio π¦

@timber flax sounds super stupid but maybe you can move the parts from your overlay away from the help button and crop it?
its not the best thing but seeing your situation maybe this is a work around?

The 3450 is not integrated, but it's an OEM Discrete card that I pulled out of a Dell PC about 6 years ago
