Hey guys, I'm studying the possibility to migrate my chatbot currency system, shop, etc to StreamElements, however, a key thing for me is to have the !points command triggering only via whispers, I mean, if people type !points in the chat, nothing will happen. For them to be answered by the bot, they would need to go like /w StreamElements !points. Is there a way to do that?

I currently use the Streamlabds Chatboth, former Ankhbot, and it does have this option on it, I can configure where people are able to use any command, if it's through whisper, through chat, both, etc, it's really useful. But it's a bot that runs on your PC, so I don't know if it makes any difference in this particular case

That would be why, simply because our bot is cloud based, our interaction is limited to the chat, so we can send a whisper through chat, but cannot reply to one because the bot doesn't have access to the StreamElement's whispers (to my knowledge)

That means your default alert, will play for the inital sub, and months 2/3/4/6/7/8...

@midnight moon the media share function is just a "player" in that case, all that depends on the music that is being played. most popular songs are copyrighted.
if you want to avoid that problem somehow, consider multitrack-audio in OBS + local recording, so you will have your recorded files with music on a separate audio track for editing.

There is a little bug with the stream store (at least for us) : if you add a requirement for an item (like "don't forget to send your address") and the text is too long, the bot will post a weird message in chat (starting with "Usage") and won't remove the points from the account and the item will be redeemed for free...

I am trying to come up with a solution for offline points (I want to reward viewers who stick around and watch who I host) So I thought if I add StreamElements as a Super Moderator and have users issue a command on a cooldown to get points like !freepoints in which StreamElements would respond !addpoints $[user] 10 in which 10 points would be added to the user and then that user would be on cooldown to do it again. Theortically this should work but when streamelements types !addpoints $[user] 10 it doesnt do a follow up command and add the points is there something I am missing?

Steps to enable custom name

Afraid not, they have to be added from the dashboard. Here's how the streamer can invite you to be a dashboard manager for them:

Twitch doesn't have a "notification system" for hosts (unlike follows, subs, raids, etc.) so the only way for StreamElements to know that you are being hosted is to connect through you to twitch. This connection is made on:

- SE Activity Feed page - https://streamelements.com/dashboard/activity
- Ground Control desktop app - https://streamelements.com/groundcontrol
Please have one of these open during your stream in order to receive host event notifications.

Under Tipping > Tip list, you can select and then delete selected items, or go into an individual tip and modify it, but I am not sure how this ties into the top tipper list

I believe the top tipper list is generated by data in the tip list, but I am not 100% sure on that. If it is tied to it, then modifying or deleting tips from the tip list should update the top tippers list

if you see double there is a chance that a second import was done by accident. It might be best to clear out the tip list and try a fresh import. At least you can do bulk selections by using the very top level check box above the list, and do delete selected

If you are getting an error with your overlay, please refresh the cache on it. To do this in OBS, double click on your source(, scroll down, hit the refresh cache button, then save.

Sub goal is meant more for short-term goals and counts when you gain a sub. For an accurate count of your total subs use the Total Subscribers widget and add "/150" for example after the variable 😃 @left ice
Or you can do what Tomathin said and go to Activity Feed > Widget Data > Goals and update the number manually

- StreamElements bot modded and in chat
- Active overlay with alerts
- StreamElements tipping page in the panels below the stream (!panels)
- Create a twitch account for the name you want to use
- Ground Control app must be running
Steps to enable custom name
- Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
- Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
- Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
- Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
- Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

I think @inner flame means that in the SE overlay it shows that the last donation came from the bot from 1upcoin
how he can change that it doesnt say that anymore because he was just testing something and donated to himself
so now it looks like he donated to himself and he doesnt want that when he starts his new stream

This is probably a common support request, so hopefully there are some common fixes: I've set up an overlay, not even including a webcam at the moment, and as soon as I enable the overlay, my framerate in OBS tanks...and I'm not even streaming, just 'previewing'. Short of upgrading my admittedly lacking CPU, is there anything I can do? If I stream with no overlay in OBS or with that other popular stream overlay software I don't get frame rate issues (though I don't use that other one which I shall not name for many more reasons), so I don't think my CPU is the only reason. Sadly, I like the StreamElements ecosystem, but the overlays aren't usable for me like this. 😦
Is there a massive difference in FPS hit between animated and static overlays? I'm more than happy to use a static one if so

Animated overlays are heavier, as well as certain widgets, like the kappagen and hypecup, can add more cpu usage. You will also want to ensure that you have your browser source set to shutdown when not visible, so you dont have overlays running in the background

Well, SE will not get SL alerts if you were still using SL alerts. If you were not getting any activity in the activity feed, that seems like it would be something else. The reason I asked about the twitch name change is your twitch account linked to your discord is not active, and that could have explained the behavior

Nah im not using SL alerts, im using a theme from SE and using their alerts. but they just are not working aswell as activity feed.
But.. the activity feed seems to be working just fine on SL but not SE..

@frank lagoon if you go to stream elements website and log in with your twitch. You will click Modules down on the bottom right under "Bot" and then you will need to enable Chat ALerts

It's an old Phenom 2 X6...but again, I have no issues streaming at 30FPS+ without an overlay, or even with some other overlays, and even now with the SE overlay, my CPU usage does not appear to be the 'limiting reactant'

Without the overlay, I get a SOLID 48 FPS in OBS (I've limited to 48) and my CPU usage is under 5%. With the overaly, I'm up to about 10-15% CPU usage and under 20FPS

@ebon forum unfortunately my more recent FX 8300 series went out on me so I had to fall back to this. No money at the moment to replace the FX, much less upgrade which would require a new MOBO. 😦 I guess no overlay for me. Maybe I'll just focus on making YT vids for now, because a stream without an overlay and some interactivity is pretty weak. Shame that this seems like the best overlay and is the only one I get FPS issues with 😦

I found that if I disable the preview in OBS, and I can just enough juice to keep my stream at stable 30fps, otherwise I will dip into 20's

@brave ore Nope, but having it open for activity feed or using Ground Control for that is helpful. If you also get hosted, you will need something to alert of the host, like Ground Control or the activity feed

@crisp needle well, you can work around the FPS on the overlay and try a few tricks, lower the CPU usage of OBS in the advanced tab (profile etc), it will help a bit. but upgrading is your best bet, CPUs are cheap now, motherboards too, RAM is hella expensive tho.

Keybinds not working for media request in GC is a known issue, and a side effect of the new media request system. GC will be completely redone in the near future, and full support for media request should return at that time

from the overlay editor, you can go to the data tab, and enter some initial values here, then once you get new alerts, it will auto populate

you have the top tip set to the session
so you need to set the session data, and this will reset when you start the stream, as it is per session, and not all time
if you are going to use the session top tip, you can also set the no data text so that is says something more meaningful, like no tips this stream, or something of that nature

If you go to the widgets, you can see all the widgets, and you can replace them as you see fit on the overlay
like, latest tipper to show the most recent tip
also, it looks like the name variable is missing from your top tip, something like Session Top tip: {name} - {currency}{amount} would display the name as well
if you only want it to show the name and tip amount, you can change this to something like {name} - {currency}{amount}

Looks like the text the overlay is using is Bangers
and that should be in the list of fonts, just from checking on an unrelated overlay. The fonts all come from google fonts, so they should be the same set in any overlay
