Twitch doesn't have a "notification system" for hosts (unlike follows, subs, raids, etc.) so the only way for StreamElements to know that you are being hosted is to connect through you to twitch. This connection is made on:

- Ground Control desktop app - https://streamelements.com/groundcontrol
Please have one of these open during your stream in order to receive host event notifications.

@lament blade That thread is for the mac version of OBS and I believe you are on windows. That's also no longer an issue with the most recent version of OBS for mac.
It was an issue with the browser source plugin not playing .mp3 files only on the mac version. But it's now been resolved by the great folks at OBS.

All we do is connect the paypal accounts. None of the money touches our hands. You could contact PayPal and verify that the payment went through, but if the issue is that the streamer put the wrong email address in for the donation page, that is something the streamer has to take care of

ok, so it sounds like the audio source that should be capturing the desktop audio is not capturing anything, if you changed this to your headset, or if Windows has the headset as the default audio device, it might be good to try restarting OBS

For the record, took Brian's issue to DM, the audio problem seemed to be OBS not being able to initialize the drivers: Failed to get initialize audio client: 800401FB. Error translates to "Object is not registered". Advised audio driver reinstall, and provided link to OBS discord

Twitch doesn't have a "notification system" for hosts (unlike follows, subs, raids, etc.) so the only way for StreamElements to know that you are being hosted is to connect through you to twitch. This connection is made on:

so idk what it is, but it seems like eversince i swtiched to streamelements with alerts and got a awesome overlay downloaded ground controle my cpu usage is going crazy on obs it takes 30% now just by opening obs not even streaming befor it was 3% , 5% at highest, this means with 30% cpu usage it makes my machine drop fps in games, i already switched the encoding to gpu on obs cuz my cpu is not strong enough. any help

2.On the left sidebar click "My selling tools".
3.Next find the "Block payments" setting and press "update" on the right side.
4.Look for "Allow payments sent to me in a currency I do not hold" and set it to Yes, accept and convert them to U.S Dollars. (Or whatever default currency your PayPal account uses)

You should be able to remove it in the overlay editor

Hey all! I'm new to streaming so this might not be with streamlabs, but i used the fortnite overlays (animated ones) and everytime i switch to a different one, obs goes black for a second and loads them in. Is it a streamlabs problem or is it my (somewhat underpowered (1080 graphics card) computer?
