$(user) will use the target's username if one is specified when using the command. If a target is not given, it will use the sender's username

@whole orchid You can change custom commands to be a whisper in the Advanced settings for them, but default commands you can't. Did you try to make this into a custom command?

Using a recognized service helps a bit (as opposed to just a paypal button), as does putting a big ol' "you agree that this is nonrefundable" so you can argue it with paypal or whoever if needed. But there's little way of completely avoiding it, to my knowledge.

@humble elbow Hi. This is actually a Paypal "issue" - Paypal allows people to charge back donations. It does not matter what service you are using. You can open a dispute and fight for it, but is it 50/50. Make sure you clearly state that donations are non-refundable and open claims when you get chargebacked.

@humble elbow From personal experience I find that asking to speak to the department that deals with fraud and then explaining the issue to them often helps a lot. This is what I have done every time in the past and I've never lost a case.

see I've not had that same issue. Maybe try another overlay that's just not animated and see if that fixes it. If it does, you know that's the problem.
Sometimes you can save stuff locally and run it in OBS as various source elements, too, if need be.

Can you please make donation goals actually reset after testing donations in an overlay?
I've been told before that it's supposed to automatically reset. It does not.
Now I have to check a VOD to see where I was on the goal
Correction: i didn't have to actually check a VOD since in the "data" tab it still listed the correct amount
However, it listed the correct amount with an additional $00.0000000005
meaning when I hit "save" it simply caused the goal to change to (%) with no progress tracked

Alright. Yes, I did that the first time and it didn't save. Now it just takes a long time for it to actually load in the content of the profanity filter list so that it seems empty for 2-3 seconds. Probably an issue with my browser or computer (having an issue with Windows 10 where certain control panel settings are reverting to default similarly to the Chatstats settings so that got me a bit worried if my browser was being affected too). All 
if Chatstats issue is due to you guys tweaking it.

Like I said there's literally no difference because we do not touch the money you donate, it's just a paypal transfer
This way we just recieve an alert of the transfer
If you can't donate to someone, it would have to be an issue between their paypal account or yours.
Or perhaps, the user has tipping moderation checked, an the alert didn't go through because they have to aproove or deny it

i talked with wipztv already (his main mod (i think)) and he said that i have to call paypal to fix this issue but there is no issue at my end at all.
also i am from austria and i put € in the donation and not $

I was able to select euros on Tim's tipping page and it converted to USD on the payment portal. I then logged in with my email and it took me to the payment method screen which is the final step before pressing "Pay"
Only PayPal will know the reason for that error message when trying to login on their payment portal

Hello guys, i have a question regarding the alert box of streamElements. I stream directly from the Ps4 to Twitch. With StreamElements i am able to recieve chatbox notifications.
I was wondering if it is possible to set notification (sound) alerts, which will play whenever someone follows/donates/subscribes etc.? I know this is not possible directly through an overlay on my stream. (because i can't use an overlay directly on a ps4 stream)
However, with Tipeeestream it is possible to launch the alertbox in a browser. I have my computersound connected through a controler on my ps4. So with Tipeeestream, whenever a donation takes place, i hear the sound alert through my headset + on stream. Is there a way to open the alertbox/ overlay of StreamElements in my browser, so that i can use the sound alerts? It would be amazing if i can just use StreamElements for everything!!

@lament blade yes it is possible. You can create a simple overlay with just an alert box, add sounds, adjust the volume and open it in the browser - it will make sounds on every event. for raids/hosts you will need the dashboard/activity feed or our desktop client (Ground Control) open, everything else will work without it

you can have 4 scenes setup like Onslaught said and then add that alerts overlay to each one of them, it works ofc, just make sure to tick shutdown source when not visible and try to keep overlays as simple/clean as possible since the more u add the more it will use cpu

@fleet frost if you are talking about alert widgets, you can just create variations, instead of trying to add multiple alert widgets. Depending on the alert you make a variation for, you can do things like make an alert that would just be for donations that are $20+, as an example

You can create an extra account with the name of the bot but you can also use your own account.
Pro of using your own is that when you are live, the bot can use sub-emotes but in this case make sure your offline timers don't use any.
If you choose to use an extra account you have to gift a sub to the bot to use sub-emotes.
The OAuth token is the key to your account, so it uses that to talk. If you give it the oauth for your main account, it will speak as you. So if you want it to have a different name, you have to have an account with that name. Just another friendly reminder on a bug I've been reporting for a few months now that would take less than 5 min to fix. The countdown timer widget can not be hidden in the overlay (does hide in the editor, but not actual overlay) due to the 1 second interval that updates the display value of the timer forcing it to become visible after hiding it. The only way I've found (for the past 2-3 months) top hide it is to set the font size to 0, which is a hassle to do. Apparently this is on the radar, but has not got any love yet. Just making sure it has not slipped through the cracks.

no, specifically about having the ability to hide a countdown widget that has been running
once that javascript interval is updating the text widget, hiding the element and saving it only hides it for 1 second until the interval fires again
the issue does not appear in the editor, only in the html when viewing in a browser or OBS

correct, toggling layer visibility and saving hides the widget, but only until that interval fires again which updates the counter and causes it to display. And a counter that has run out (and ended) is still updated every second by the same interval, so even dead countdowns can't be hidden.

I'd just have the function that sets the timer initiate the interval, and when the timer runs out purge the interval. Having looping intervals run perpetually is not ideal even if they don't cause display bugs, hehe
