I have an issue where any alert is causing my OBS to lag but nothing else. OBS drops to around 30 fps when an alert is playing and goes back up to the standard 60fps when it has finished. I've been struggling with this issue for a while now and can't seem to fix it. Any help would be appreciated ๐

you can just set up the alerts, but the links from SL are the same as ours
you just create the overlay, and then add the alert box, and edit it to your hearts desire. You could also add the other things as well (store redemption widget, contests, giveaway, kappagen)

you don't need to have our bot in channel for the Kappagen to work
All you ahve to do is go to your overlay manager (https://streamelements.com/dashboard/overlays), create a new overlay, open the overlay using the pencil icon, then go to widgets, and add the kappagen widget
Then copy the link from that overlay, and put it in as a browser source into OBS

@reef epoch Dont sell yourself short. Getting affiliate is as simple as drudging through your first 2 months as a streamer and keeping positive.
3 concurrent viewers, 50 followers, and at least 8 days out of the month with 8 hour streams would get you affiliate.

hello, i recently switched from streamlabs to stream elements, i am finding that my recent follower widget works, however the recent sub is not pulling in my recent sub, its almost as if the history of my subs/followers/bits/etc. are not picking up as the recent follower that is showing is someone who followed this morning, about the same time i was messing with stream elements, any help?

Tried out contests and redemption yesterday. Not sure why, but my contest would not pop up on screen unless I went to the overlay editor and saved. It happened a few times. Additionally, my redemption alert sound went off, but the corresponding image did not show up on screen. Any things I should look at to help resolve?

regarding contests, we're aware of an issue where consecutive contests won't show on the overlay unless its resaved. Should be fixed

after you have them in your My Overlays section, click on the Launch Overlay button. This will open the theme in a new tab. Copy the URL and use that as the URL of a new browser source on your OBS

so, the music is something difficult if you use song requests, as people are going to request songs that have copyright. But if you set up a backup playlist through youtube, you can select certain artists that don't have those copyrights in effect (approaching nirvana for example)

the only time I get mutes on vod's are when I get certain song requests

@stiff patio While you can't automatically import tip data from tippeestream you can import manually by going to https://streamelements.com/dashboard/mytips and clicking ADD A TIP in the top right. Input the information (username, paypal email, amount, message) and check the imported tip box so that the tips will be added to your SE tip page leaderboard if you choose to use it

Hi all. How do I reset myamount on the stream donation goal widget...? Ie.: I started a new donation goal and it's counting my past donations on it. I'd lke it to not do that. Also, !tip seems to show that I have nothing set up and I'm sure I do. But, maybe I'm missing something...? since the added super themes ive noticed a bug. or maybe its just my end? I tried to edit my sub alert and change the image. added the new image and removed the previous one from the system but testing the alert wont show an image at all and also im unable to adjust the audio level unless i adjust it>mute>unmute (the editor mute button)> test alert.

@smoky turtle make sure on sub/cheer/tip alerts you check the variation settings. if you change the generic on, and not the variation, it might not show the generic depending on the variation settings

The Sub goal does not take into account that people unsub or use prime subs and not REsub either. like right now i have onl 15 subs and it counts 17 which was my high. is this how the Sub goal widget works?

Hey! I was wondering if there is a way to "reset" streamelements when it bugs out abit and do not play any animations. Ive had it happen to me a few times and my friend aswell today. @soft bone The first thing you can try is unticking your Stream Elements browser source in your OBS with Shutdown when not active ticked in the properties of the browser source, then tick it again, this will refresh it ๐

So ive been messing around with the different overlays. When you have multiple overlays with the same sound effects, they kind of play in the background in OBS. is there any way to fix this or stop it? Ive set all my overlays to "shutdown source when not visible" to avoid multiple sounds. But this causes switching between scenes to look a little clunky with black screens waiting for the overlay to load. ๐ค

OBS cant mute sounds from sources. Xsplit can. If you have something running in the background with sound, it will keep producing sound, there is no workaround for that.

i dont wanna switch to xsplit but its something i'd switch a software for. as it's a bit rediculous to not be able to mute a source thats not visible

it affects only a few things like browser source or videofiles with audio. but there no way to control that in OBS. Xsplit can control the volume of each source individually or mute that completly with a custom hotkey

Anyone else's bot being derpy? Song requests going through but the bot not actually typing in chat to acknowledge.. then it works briefly and off again? Chat commands doing the same thing

yeah, and it not preventing songs from doubling up is a pain too because unless me and the mods are constantly watching, people don't realize the song is going through and do it again :/

Yes, there's 2 options, stream perk and sound effects, if you choose sound effects then they're buying a sound effect as the name suggests

If you read my explanation it'll explain to you what's happening, the stream perks one causes an alert, the sound effects are just sound effects hence why they're referred to as 'sound effects'
The stream perks ones also need to be accepted by you via the website, that's an important thing to remember
