This is actually wrong. In the last 10 years, the F-16 alone has flown more close air support missions than the A-10. During the gulf war, the F-16 also flew more close air support missions while simultaneously losing less aircraft compared to the A-10. The F-111 also had more armored kills than the A-10. From a numbers standpoint, the strike eagle is outright superior to the A-10 for close air support.

I can elaborate further in another channel if you'd like. The A-10 is largely overrated and credited with kills it didn't get.
