Having Steam then start another client just adds a step to the things that can go wrong. I don't want 2042 on Steam to start Origin / EA Desktop for a very simple reason - I only have technical issues with Origin / EA Desktop. They reeeeeally like to break themselves. Multiple systems, installations, OS versions etc.
I don't mind using EA clients if they were reliable to me.

There's a big difference between paying directly for a DLC, and using money from MTX and season passes to fund expansions. Literally everyone who buys the DLC will have paid for it. With MTX and battle/season pass, not everyone is paying for the DLC.

Let's not also forget that MTX was always there in the form of battlepacks, and premium was already there. They were releasing PAID DLC, along with premium and battlepacks. Your statement here could easily be applied to BF4

DICE is really doubling down on having a majority of devs working on the game, even the devs active in here are saying this. And I'm not really seeing any evidence that it's not the case given how quickly DICE is fixing server issues, putting out bug fixes and how many devs are active in here for feedback.

I am messing around with this guy he prob funiest guy around here of 127k players

I decided to go back through 2042 from launch to season 1,
In that 8 month period, DICE put out:
1,100 bug fixes
200ish balance changes
90 UI changes or improvements
21 optimization passes
and has had 53% more communication with the community than any other battlefield game before.
With all that work they had to trudge through, I can understand why there's so little content in season 1
