I don’t get people who say “put them in classes.” They’re already split up into classes. Limiting the weapons at this juncture, when there’s only 22 guns is stupid. I don’t want it.

If I want proper classes I’ll just play portal. Or go back and play BF1 or BFV. 2042’s unique in the way it handles classes and player choice. I like it.

In-fact, going back to older games feels super limiting. I almost exclusively played engineer in BF3 and BF4 cause it was the only class with a rocket launcher. I like knowing I can switch it up without sacrificing my only defense against vehicles.

I may not have 20k hours overall, but I’ve been playing for over a decade myself. The balance problems are not attributed to the lack of classes. The problem is the massive oversight on things that are OP. BUT every game will have a meta. Every update will nerf or change something, and something new will become meta. It always happens. Yeah, play Breakthrough and just spot people. You get 5xp for each spot and 50xp if one of those spotted get killed. Literally more XP than getting the kill.

Physics are absolutely not fine. They should not feel like propeller planes lol. BF4 had the perfect flight system.

I am really good with jets in BF4, and in that you had to apply actual dogfighting techniques and aim properly. You can't really do that here, It's more of a who slows down first wins. It feels like BF1 levels of dogfighting but worse.

People tend to bring up the map size as well, but if an engine is optimized correctly than map size will not affect performance. You don't render the entire map all at once.

You can change squads and that's as far as squad management goes. In fact, when the squad leader leaves, it doesn't set the next squad member in line as the new leader. This goes for other squadmates who leave, you remain in your exact position.

In it's current state I don't recommend buying BF2042, personally. You're getting an incomplete, dumbed down, buggy and unpolished version of battlefield by getting it right now.
