I was just saying that like "it would be cool if" as I'm currently playing 2042 a bit and I'd be willing to put 10$ for cosmetics cause the bundles are overpriced to me

also they will never consider making battle passes non expirable because the point of passes is to induce fomo into people that are psychologically easy to manipulate just like lootboxes with gambling

and when it comes to their plan, seeing how 2042 went, I wouldn't dare betting they have one

it can vary between a lot; anything under 90 is probably good I'd reason but you might want to double check on tech review sites

in the 90 zone your computer will start to throttle I believe

(throttling helps the computer prevent damage & makes stuff run poorly)

Play Close Quarters Conquest at first so you get more PvP
Specialize in just one class (something like Medic or Recon so you’re helping even if you’re not getting many kills) and just one gun or so
Breakthrough is easier to get into than full Conquest, but both are fun and doable

At most, you should only need to restart the PC a few times. If you brick the OS, something went wrong.

Rule number 1: Never Ever use the MBR2GPT command. You probably already have GPT set for the drive's partition style, so this command will just invite problems if used.

The old guides said to use it because they were from a time where it was a new partitioning style, so the drives were assumed to be MBR ones by majority. This is not true now. At all.

Secure boot is honestly a rash choice Mid lifecycle. I wouldn't have bought it on sale if I'd of known my access would be cut-off early, I was hoping to at least play it until they shuddered the servers, as they don't have community hosted servers; it'd die when they say it does. This game is dead in the water for my system's configuration.

I run a Dual-Booted system and I only keep Windows around for one thing; Escape From Tarkov and other Battleye games that can't be played in Linux. 2042 got greedy and thought they could enforce hardware settings on customer machines and now they're missing a very small part of their population. I'm not mad, just disappointed because it's silly to such a major change so late in the lifecycle.

I believe Battlefield 2042 should remove bots from its game modes. BF5 and BF1 seem more popular due to real players, and bots frankly ruin the experience. The current player base is large enough to fill servers with real people, even at off-peak hours. So, I think bots should be eliminated from BF2042 and not included in future Battlefield titles

Most people do not interact with games outside of the game itself (they do not interact with discord, youtube or search guides) so when that error pops up, they basically have no solution.

You and I probably didn't have any issue enabling it, so put yourself in the shoes of those people

I did look into this a bit more as an aside: With my conflating of UEFI=Secure Boot I have said some silly things myself with this ongoing talk.

All(unless weirdly modified to my knowledge) Modern Windows 11 PCs have Secure Boot as it is required by that OS, but everything prior to did not necessarily have it enabled. So someone asking how to enable it is not an invalid question, though it is easy to see it as a simple one for those of us who have a good bit of experience going into a computer's BIOS.

That does not make it an unreasonable requirement though considering that with Windows 10 reaching EOL Windows 11 will be standard eventually for the vast majority, in which Secure Boot will be part and parcel anyway. Even if it does not solve the issue it meant to.

This is true given Windows 10 has solid market majority. Also note that given the very reinforced enmity towards Windows 11 for various reasons of inconveniencing former power users and more, users are very strongly inclined to hold on to Windows 10 for as long as possible, or only upgrade when Windows 12 ships and ideally is less of a hassle on the end user. This trends with the logic used by Windows XP and Windows 7 users when Windows Vista and Windows 8 shipped, of only migrating every Other major Windows release following XP.

Even if a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC has Secure Boot enabled and set to Standard Mode, no CSM, whatever, the exception of No Secure Boot Detected is still thrown when one additional parameter is not set: For motherboards where you can set an OS Boot Type in its UEFI/BIOS settings, that must be set to specify Windows UEFI. Not Other OS.

Even so, the exception never tells the user this as a hint of what else to do, so the user is likely to assume it just needs to focus on getting Secure Boot enabled the "right way," no matter what. Or give up when it cannot do that, or if it ends up breaking things it should not have in the process, leading to it eventually choosing to spite the software and company behind it for making things so much more difficult to unbreak.

It never used to be like that, gaming communities are less and less in numbers now too. Its all about the greed and profit these days, a scene ruined by consoles and corp mentality.

Consoles are what brought many into gaming if not most, it is not a console problem(you could argue how they evolved but not consoles themselves).

I think the issue for at least some players who would talk under normal circumstances is that companies and their DumAI are quick on the draw with game bans and they would rather not deal with the possibility of that.

I have tried roll back of a huge number of drivers, all bios change suggestions, all windows suggestions and many many more to fix my issues. I am sure i am using the Navi 10 card as thats what is displayed in any monitoring apps. I literally cant find a perminent fix for these issues.

I once had an issue where BF2042 would crash at launch and i couldnt find a fix but managed to accidently find a fix myself for it.

With Crossplay Off, matchmaking will ignore any match with at least 1 player in it not from your chosen platform. This will cause it to ignore most matches, search forever, and either give up, or make you the host of a new match with others from your platform with it off.

Crossplay On is de facto mandatory.

Just to be sure, have you made sure not only to equip it, but also to deploy it? In 2042, bipods are always undeployed by default. You have to manually deploy it.

I find the bipods to be quit helpful for reducing recoil on the LMGs. I usually notice pretty quickly when I forget to deploy them. I only use them on LMGs and sniper rifles, though.
