Most SBMM are pretty busted. Like the Halo Infinite one essentially hands you a win but pushes you into a loss as well.

If you do good in on round it puts you up against players well beyond your skill... It doesn't.incrimentally raise your opponent skill, but that's die to Lower game.popualtiom.
I don't think BF2042 has a high enough population to effectively generate a great SBMM method

Well they changed engine version again for the new game (It was announced that Frostbite was getting some "Well needed upgrades" over a year ago). Regardless...it makes total sense to re-use as many old assets as is possible. It can be a huge time saver.

99% of player wont care that old stuff is used, as long as the maps look and play well...and have decent levels of destruction.

It's hard to determine what the cause is without really knowing whats happening on your display. Are you getting any kind of error message? Do you get the game at all and then it crashes?

I would do this. I would get rid of any lingering EA app files in your appdata folders along with the EA app itself. Uninstall the game, clear out any files of it on your steam directory as well. Install 2042 and let it rebuild everything

This is a really annoying thing to troubleshoot because youre running it via steam, and then it launches the EA app and THEN launches the game
