I have a quick question:

So I got bf2042 today and have had a fun few hours playing, however, I am running into an issue, in which I get really heavy FPS drops (drops down to like 2fps for a second or too, then rises back up), which seems to be caused by the fact, that the CPU usage dips - The cpu usage is usually stable at between 60 and 75%, however, randomly, it will drop down to like 10%, and then rise back up (which is when I get the excessive FPS drops). This usually occurs, when there is a lot going on around me, such as explosions, or shots

I have looked at a whole bunch of threads on ea's support page , however, there only seems to be one thread that's like mine (the rest complain about 100% cpu usage). There are several suggestion fixes, however, everyone seems to agree on the fact, that they don't work (from what I've read).

Has anyone else been having this issue? Does anyone know of a fix? Ones I am aware of are:

• cfg file fix in which you specify cpu core amounts etc
• cache deletion
• purchasing a new cpu (this one isn't an option obv)

Some help would really be appreciated. I just got the game and would obviously like to play it :')

I imagine the nature of the reviews compliment the game going from broken to acceptable tho. So I really do wonder what the communities standards are anymore

grand bazaar is pretty good for a "meat grinder map"

i feel like bad company 2's map design is a bit overrated

no doubt its insanely fun

but its basically just

straight line with small groups of houses

for each objective (that is very reductive to be fair tho)

I’m convinced FPS players have Stockholm syndrome with overly simplistic maps

They know that they are often pretty terrible

But for some reason they keep playing them

And then after a while of not playing it

They think to themselves “it was actually pretty good”
