yeah totally agree, that’s always been what puts me off stuff like apex - cycle of like not knowing how to use the guns because i can’t consistently use them, and then losing before i can really settle into a gun rinse repeat i never end up learning which guns do what

because in pubg's case there was no other game that provided the same gunplay / long range engagements. No other game has done DMRs/Sniping as good as pubg imo. And that game had really fun vehicles for repositioning

apart from anything in any game with bots there’s some overlap between the AI and player performance

True. Some BR games now, especially after a while, is that they have years worth of meta and shit. That it’s almost overwhelming to just jump into it and play. Because the punishment for trying stuff is so severe. And with warzone being detached for the base game, you don’t have the luxury of trying a gun in MP unless you buy the game.

I still think BR games being free is the wave. But it’s like trying to jump into an MMO 5 years after launch. People who got in on the ground floor have such an advantage.
