basically 20v20 on a relatively larger map (not 2042 large, but large-ish) and you just gain ground, kinda like frontlines almost, but there isnt really a clear objective in the form of a place to capture, but you're trying to move the frontline of the fighting, and ultimately gain more points than the enemy by killing people

Weapon balance makes no sense, and attachment balance isn't much better, most of the attachments have way too many downsides to justify using them, like a 40 round mag for the M4 reduces Movement Speed, ADS Speed, Reload Speed, and Sprint to Fire speed. That's 10 extra bullets for all of those downsides. It does not seem worth it, especially considering a lot of other attachments reduce some of these characteristics as well.

Been thinking about how I would rework Breakaway if it was up too me to fix it.
I feel like I would move E point or the damevan mountain bit all the way over so it's in the center top of the map overlooking A, B, C, and D objectives.
Then I would take the ice trench of F objective and shift that down to the big Ice pillars of D objective and then move the US spawn down with it, so that way the main spawns are directly facing each other. After that I would just start changing up the scenery to look more like an icey fortress

Cause like, the biggest issue the map has is it's too big with too much empty space

From the bottom of E, all the way to the the hill overlooking A, you have nothing but empty space that no one is going to be traversing through or using really at all

and then the bottom of the map is just emptiness, just ice towers and frozen water, literally nothing there
