i have an i5 8400 and rx590 and the game runs at 120fps on maxed settings at 1080p, my pc isnt great

i dont think 8gb would limit him to 27fps, i think it could limit him to like 70fps at most
actually nevermind, my friend plays warzone with single channeled 8gb ram at around 90fps on a gtx1060 (3gb)

but rx570 is generally capable of running warzone at 90-100fps on 1080p on lowest settings and around 70 on highest settings. Also, as far as I am concerned, the % of additional fps you get in dual channel increases exponentially as your base frame rate increases too. What I mean by this is that getting 30 additional fps from 130 to 160 doesnt necessarily mean that you would run the game at 30fps on single channel if you run it at 60fps on dual channel, the same way it doesnt mean that you wont be able to play the game at all on single channel if you run the game at 30fps on dual channel. The only main reason I can imaigne this guy is running the game at 27fps is that he's playing on 4k resolution, or maybe his resolution scale is automatically set to 200% or whatever while also on maxed graphic settings. If it's not this, then it could be some other thing, and as I agree that dual channel would most likely make his game run smoother, I don't think it's the biggest problem in this specific case.
my friend that i referenced before who plays warzone on 10603gb with 8 single channeled ram ran the game at around 30fps for an entire morning because the client is badly optimized and he needed to do some weird update to let the game finish actually installing the shaders, then he got around 100fps on low settings on 1080p
so I insist that this might be the case, especially given how RattingCheese said other games such as battlefield 4 runs at 150fps
i bet he plays on a 60hz monitor so i dont think he really needs dual channel so bad, at least as for now. I think it might serve him a lot better later on and that he wont tell a noticeable difference between single and dual nowadays
so summarizing this into being a single channel ram issue translates into him doing a significant money inversion for something that wont fix his problem
