if a monitor is 60hz it can only display 60 frames every second. if its 75hz it can display 75 frames a second, if its 144, yeah you get the point. if you have 120 fps on a 60hz monitor you will still only see 60 fps.

so guys i solved my issue with the frametime spikes/stuttering so basically i ran dx12 but i was always hesitant to use it as it was unplayable with a shit tone of stutter. However, upon researching and thinking a little bit i realised that the game was doing shader caching and the next time i play the maps its smooth asf. again thank you @violet plank for trying to help me yesterday

dx12 on nvidia cards was always running on higher frames/smoother but always with random micro stutters for me

right playing the game with dx12 and trying to run around the maps to cache all the shaders is time consuming... there is another fix where if you have an nvidia card you delete the "Nvidia Shader Cache" that contains the files. Then play the game on dx11 and no stutters at all. the gameplay is so smooth and fluid now

Hi guys, i have a problem with bf4. Like 50% of the time, when i try to join a server i dont get a loading screen. The game just freezes on the menu image and i have to kill the process. The other 50% of the time it works perfectly. Never had a crash mid game or something like that. I got an r5 1600x, 16 gigs 3200, rx 570 and a 750w 80+ gold psu. The game is on an 860 evo. Keep in mind that every other game works perfectly fine. Windows and drivers are up to date. Ive tried reinstalling bf4 as well to no avail.
Also my temps are fine, 65-70 on the gpu and like 60 on the cpu while playing
