Semi modular is honestly a bit better because it’s the halfway between cheap and good for future proofing. Having the ability to add only the wires you need is really good for cable management

Outside of that, it depends on your build. Is it open or glassed in where someone can see all the internals? If so, you may not want to have a normal PSU on display. It really comes down to vanity though as much as personal satisfaction. I ran a non-modular PSU on a glassed-in case for years. I still made that cabling tidy and tucked away, but it didn't look as clean as a modular setup. In the end, I couldn't care less about what others might think about that, I was satisfied with it for what it was. So ask yourself that question, can you live with a present, but tidied up cabling layout? If so, save the coin.

BTW, I have the 850 of that line and it's an outstanding PSU. The 650 is often on sale at Best Buy and Walmart as well if you live in the US at prices that can compete.

It's one of the few category of items that doesn't always have a ridiculous markup.
