RTX Titan kinda sucks ass compared to a 2080ti when going subzero

#

The reference pcb with the lack of different BIOS hurts

prime jasper
#

Yee atm 2nd place is a guy with RTX titans and he averages around 60fps in bfv ultra 8k

#

Im at 63-91

latent light
#

you got 2 of those hall of fame cards?

prime jasper
#

I do recently yes

latent light
#

how much were they each

prime jasper
#

I bios hacked my FE's

#

Each I bought without cooler for 1680$

latent light
#

lol

prime jasper
#

This is purely from a person knows a person deal

#

He attended the event

latent light
#

you put a waterblock on both?

prime jasper
#

Will be putting a heatkiller gpu core on them, mostly will have ln2 pots on them for next few months

steep gust
#

They really should not have came with a cooler tbh

prime jasper
#

Yee there water block sucks

steep gust
#

oh

#

rip

prime jasper
#

It's a byskii

#

chinese shit

latent light
#

gonna use this on both?

prime jasper
#

Yup yup

steep gust
#

Get Heatkiller to custom make a block :^)

#

I'm sure the demand for HoF waterblocks is huge

latent light
#

also in that photo, is that black heatsink even enough for VRMs

steep gust
#

Yes

#

mosfets don't really get hot

prime jasper
#

VRM's don't need cooling

#

vram

#

aswell

steep gust
#

yeah just have some airflow

prime jasper
#

I mean... it's in a deep freezer

steep gust
#

Now if your VRM sucks ass it might get warm

latent light
#

so if I take apart my RX 580 and put the cooler back on without putting in new thermal pads it will be ok?

steep gust
#

I mean... the freezer ends up off

prime jasper
#

The cold comes from the blocks

steep gust
#

so its just a big insulated box

#

Don't tear the thermal pads and you should be fine

prime jasper
#

Yee, use a flat razor

latent light
#

usually the pads tear and you can't do anything about it

steep gust
#

eh

#

mine didn't even come off the heatsink

latent light
steep gust
latent light
#

I been looking hard for one of those big rolls of thermal pads

steep gust
#

and a 1080 is a lot more power hungry than a rx580

latent light
#

my rx 580 185w tdp

steep gust
#

yeah 225w

#

then add some more from increasing the power limit

latent light
#

only has 1 8-pin connector

steep gust
#

f

#

epower it

latent light
#

tbh the only reason I haven't taken apart my RX 580 is because if I do tear a pad, I don't have a spare one anywhere

#

and i don't know what thickness to buy

steep gust
#

calipers

queen field

how do make apex run faster

supple bane
#

It really depends what you mean by run faster

storm osprey
#

put everything on low/off and play fullscreen

supple bane

Oh, I was thinking he had a bad internet connection LUL

storm osprey
#

if you want a faster character, play octane, pathfinder, or bangalore

robust light
#

Hey, I've recently got the trial version of BF V to test the performance, and I've got to say, it's fucking atrocious, it's around 30-40 fps and stuttering on most maps on lowest settings. Im running RX 480 8gb OC'd a bit, I5 6600k @ 4.6, 16gb 2133hz, Win 7, on a HDD, any help?

sonic osprey
#

also press 3 to holster weapon to make apex run faster

storm osprey
#

@robust light turn everything off, future frame rendering, motion blur.. everything

#

and then toggle between dx 12 and dx 11

#

though, i think amd generally works better on dx 12 right?

robust light
#

From what I remember, dx 12 on fb3 is a fuckign joke.

#

also win 7 doesnt support dx 12

supple bane
#

maybe turn the resolution down a touch and then you might be able to bring the settings up a bit

storm osprey
robust light
#

I eat my words then. lol

storm osprey
#

granted thats a 1080

robust light
#

Though, from what I've googeld, people either get like 80-90 fps on ultra, with a i5 6600k and 1060

#

I shouldn't be forced to go fucking troglodyte mode to get more than 50fps

storm osprey
#

found a video for the division 2 and dx12 gets more fps for amd as well

#

yea all the videos i shortly just watched gave dx 12 more fps

robust light
#

Again, depends on the game, and I dont have win 10

#

so no way to use dx 12 lol

storm osprey
#

i mean, the only thing that looks like it would concern me of your specs is w7

mortal nacelle
#

W7 is you problem

#

Its hindering you gaming performers

robust light
#

Though, no other game has a problem with it.

storm osprey
#

ehh, unless bfv is the exception, i just watched a video comparing the 2 with modern titles and its the same

robust light
#

And assuming I change to W10, I doubt it'll be enough of an impact, for it to go into the 90's range on high settings, as in most benchmarks.

mortal nacelle
#

I Got a friend who had same problems in w7 just we other games . I told him to upgrade to w10 He was like Nah mate

#

I Finaly Got him to upgrade

#

And He was like What i now get over 100 fps in my games

#

But Thats my Take on it.

storm osprey
#

dx12 gave me a ton of fps

prime jasper
#

problem is you have the bare minimum RAM needed to run it, actually your whole system is at minimum specs for the game

robust light
#

Again, people with similar specs seem to be getting satisfying results

supple bane
#

does anyone know where the geforce experience is saving the automatic game recordings ?

#

i keep getting the notifications that it has been recorded because i got a multi kill yet i cant for the life of me find the clip in my files

#

so all its doing is taking up my space on my hdd

prime jasper
#

check your videos folder

#

mine tend to all be in there, even screen shots

mortal nacelle
#

%temp%\Highlights\Battlefield V

#

@supple bane ^^

supple bane
#

where is %temp% ???

prime jasper
#

Dx12 gives you performance because your CPU side is lacking

#

Dx11 is more GPU dependent

storm osprey
#

i have a 4790 and 1080, and dx 12 is better for me

#

so that doesnt make sense

prime jasper
#

4790 none k?

storm osprey
#

none k

prime jasper
#

In bfv is rough

mortal nacelle
#

@supple bane Press it in run %temp%\Highlights\Battlefield V

storm osprey
#

1440p

#

try hard settings, i dont dip under 100 fps

#

usually around 120

supple bane
#

ah found it

#

thanks man

mortal nacelle
#

Np

supple bane
mortal nacelle
#

I was Also looking around for it

#

For some time

prime jasper
#

I mean stock ddr3 will bottle neck real fast in bfv @storm osprey

#

So it makes perfect sense

#

Bfv is extremely CPU intensive

#

Your 4790 was really built to be with gtx 680, 780

storm osprey
#

๐Ÿคท still getting over 100 fps so im good

prime jasper
#

Nice, just explaining why your doing better in dx12

#

That's all pepe_epic

supple bane
#

@mortal nacelle do you know if there is a way to change where geforce saves these clips ?

#

because i would like to have it somewhere i can easily find

mortal nacelle
#

Nope

supple bane
#

see, such a simple thing like that, can make programs that are already as cool as geforce experience wayy better

minor turret
#

@prime jasper a random question, but do you have any idea why 1440p no AA would have a higher power draw than 1080p max 8x AA if memory usage is within 50mb of each other and gpu usage is at 99-100%?

#

noticed a much higher power draw in valley bench when testing two different scenarios, end result being OC fail at 1440p while stable at 1080p

signal forge
#

My gamee crashes a lot on PC

#

Can anyone help?

mortal nacelle
#

get better pc ๐Ÿ˜„

prime jasper
#

@minor turret what's your cpu?

minor turret
#

2600@4.25ghz

prime jasper
#

What's your frames on 1080with as vs 1440p

#

And what gpu

mortal nacelle
#

2600 is really a old cpu :S

minor turret
#

r5-2600 ofc

mortal nacelle
#

Oh lol ๐Ÿ˜„

prime jasper
#

Well AA goes to the CPU first for instructions then tells the GPU what to do, 1440p would be high draw because your GPU is working much more

minor turret
#

112 on 1440p and 107 on 1080p

#

only ran one run of both

prime jasper
#

Sounds about right

#

You have 4.25ghz on all cores in bios? Or is this the automatic oc?

minor turret
#

all cores

#

1.4v

#

i dont use it daily but for testing, drop it to 4.2 ghz daily

prime jasper
#

For daily you dont pass 1.385v correct?

minor turret
#

of course not

prime jasper
#

Good good

#

Guessing you have hynix 3000mhz kit

minor turret
#

3400 16-18

prime jasper
#

Runs stable on docp?

minor turret
#

no its a weird kit that i had to tweak

#

originally 3000 mhz b-die

prime jasper
#

So its 3000mhz b die kit?

minor turret
#

yes

#

3000-16-18

prime jasper
#

Hehe that's not b die unless it just came out when ddr4 arrived

minor turret
#

typhoon claims it is 2666 BCRC

prime jasper
#

Even for 3200mhz b die is cl14

#

Ahhh

#

I see

minor turret
#

also, the FPS in valley on 1440p

#

was achieved by forcefully dropping voltage and clocks

#

from 1.093v to 1.030v and clocks by 50 mhz

#

otherwise it would outright fail due to power draw

prime jasper
#

Fail as in crash?

minor turret
#

as in stutter with heavy fps drops

signal forge
#

None of you have experienced crash?

prime jasper
#

Only unstable clocks in bfv crash, extremely rare for frostbite to randomly crash

minor turret
#

ah those are benches i did before i put to 4250 to improve scores, dont know where i have pics to them

signal forge
#

Unstable clocks?

prime jasper
#

Yeah, even stock settings will be unstable, all depends in the chip

signal forge
#

I have a decent PC.
Gtx 1070,i7 8700k,16gb ddr4 3000mhz

prime jasper
#

You OC'd anything @signal forge?

signal forge
#

Boo

#

Noo*

prime jasper
#

Mointor your volts and temps while playing

#

Using msi afterburner

signal forge
#

56ยฐC

prime jasper
#

56c for everything?

#

@minor turret also for ryzen, unstable ram will loose alot of CPU performance, sometimes wont crash because it forces windows to continue on

#

Try your xmp vs on and off at 4.1

minor turret
#

Would be an intermittent error, passing HCI1100%

prime jasper
#

Even 1 error enough pepe_sad

minor turret
#

oh fuck me i will actually test that then

#

i assumed any error not spotted by 1000% would be a goddamn unicorn

prime jasper
#

Dude I know whatcha mean, sorry if I seem anal... even doing multiple memtest for days will only spit 1 error and that alone will fuck fps

#

Memtest = 0 errors, aidia64 cache test = 0 errors

#

That's what your looking for

#

Same with prime95 small

#

It may seem way to harsh but in bfv, its needed

#

If you have a GPU in your loop, also need to have your GPU under stress while testing CPU

#

The water temp dictates what stable is on your CPU

#

Sucks backing down clocks, but what sucks more is worse fps, frametimes and stutters than a fx8350

sonic osprey
#

I had literally zero issues with aida64 or prime95 on my overclocks, but playing apex... multiple crashes :D

prime jasper
#

Recently?

sonic osprey
#

well i removed cpu overclocks and no crashes

prime jasper
#

GPU in the same loop?

sonic osprey
#

yes

minor turret
#

i hear apex really hits ram hard

sonic osprey
#

temps not an issue

prime jasper
#

There you go

sonic osprey
#

unless 50c gpu + 75c cpu is bad

prime jasper
#

Apex recently is 30% more optimized so your GPU and CPU will get hit correctly now

minor turret
#

i might hit 144 fps with 2600 then

#

holy

prime jasper
#

Even if your water temps go up by 5 degrees, that alone will throw off your clocks

#

Because before your fps was being dictated by the servers

#

No matter how good your PC was

#

They recently did driver updates and server upgrades

steep gust
#

@sonic osprey apex has serious issues with crashing

#

My hardware is entirely stable (from months of using it)

#

And apex crashes 3 times in 5 minutes

storm osprey
#

im lucky, i only crashed in bfv and apex combined less than 5 times

latent light
#

yeah apex is unstable as hell from whatI've heard

#

my friend has an i5-7400 and RX 580 and crashes every 30 minutes or so

#

and some people with the best hardware crash a lot too

ocean valve
#

I stopped crashing in Apex once I disabled 144hz for the game

steep gust
#

Yeah I had to drop settings to minimum

#

And I'm not disabling 144hz in a shooter thonk

sonic osprey
#

latest drivers, 144hz, win10 1809, 'hc' overclocks, not good combo for apex

steep gust
#

Apex being optimized like ass is bad

ocean valve
#

Was crashing every 2 games, at least it fixed my issue temporaly :/

steep gust
#

Its not hardware wise

#

Its Respawn

#

See the driver issues with rtx

sonic osprey
#

yeah had to play with 417.35 drivers

#

to get less crashes

steep gust
#

It was fixed but it was terrible

sonic osprey
#

bad_module_info, very common crash reason

latent light
#

is apex crashing worse than BFV crashing when BFV launched?

sonic osprey
#

for rtx yes

steep gust
#

for non-RTX

#

Yes

sonic osprey
steep gust
#

Hell I'd compared it to BF4

#

It would crash in the main menu

#

It would crash when picking a legend

#

it would crash doing literally nothing

molten bramble
#

A legend in BF4?

#

Oh, you meant comparatively, the legend was in Apex though.

steep gust
#

Yes

#

BF4 was the same way

molten bramble
#

I started running back through my DLCs trying to figure out which was the legends. Old brains on me. LOL

steep gust
#

Shanghai and tower fell? Crash

#

Game felt like you were having too much fun?

#

Crash

molten bramble
#

I never had it crash, but I did have it slow to a crawl

steep gust
#

yeah i played on a 360 then so

molten bramble
#

I mean.. 360 though, that hardware just crashed if you sneezed. LOL

steep gust
#

yeah well I had some minor crashing on PC

#

It was just that, minor

molten bramble
#

I went through three 360s, never had an issue out of my XB1

steep gust
#

Like once in a blue moon crashing

#

dumbass game :^)

sonic osprey
#

changing memory is bad mm'kay

#

keep memory constant

steep gust
#

Changing memory that is being used by the program without telling the program that the memory has been changed is bad

sonic osprey
#

yah, I know, I (partly) do programming for living

prime jasper
#

but playing the blue screen game is the best part!

steep gust
#

it doesn't blue screen

#

it just hard freezes the game

sonic osprey
#

yeah, my latest crash was hard freeze, everything running in background a-ok, but cant kill apex or alt-tab

steep gust
#

You have to crtl alt delete

#

then open task manager

sonic osprey
#

nope, could not get any window to foreground

#

apex was always in foreground

#

ctrl-alt-del showed the dialog, could launch task manager, but it just would not go to foreground

latent light
#

happened to me with war thunder crashes

steep gust
#

oh yeah

latent light
#

the game would dominate the screen and wouldn't even let task manager pop-up over it

steep gust
#

you need to set task manager to always be on top

#

Also Apex just crashed LUL

sonic osprey
#

oh that dialog has that option as well

steep gust
#

Next time I'll let it error

#

instead of killing it

sonic osprey
#

should just bind a macro key to kill apex.exe

steep gust
#

meh

#

I found dropping all settings to lowest possible fixed my crashing yesterday

latent light
#

Google Stadia could make game developers optimize for Crossfire on AMD cards

pale wren
#

guys

#

you must get RTX 2060 ,its cheap and very good

steep gust
#

its not cheap

#

or worthwhile compared to a 1660ti

latent light
#

tbh 1660Ti isn't impressive either, 1070 performance 3 years later for only $50 less

storm osprey
#

this puts it at at least slightly better than 1070 pef

#

but for 1080p, 1660ti is my recommendation atm

steep gust
#

average fps across multiple games

#

= shit benchmark

#

You are comparing pretty much the same generation of hardware

#

Just show the performance off in proper benchmarks

latent light
#

MSI rolled out BIOS updates for 300 and 400 series chipset for "upcoming CPUs" on wednesday

#

Zen 2 coming shortly?

steep gust
#

yeah a bunch of people have

#

but BIOS support means nothing on launch

latent light
#

do you think motherboard vendors have information on Zen 2 CPUs already?

vivid geyser
#

is gtx 1080 i7 6700k good for bf v?
if not why if yes with what settings

latent light
#

that's great at ultra settings

#

might try high if you have 144hz monitor

vivid geyser
#

i have 144hz :S

#

But idk this milisecond lags/stuns/stutters is so bad

latent light
#

could be the CPU

#

idk

vivid geyser
#

Yeah i believe so my cpu is old now

latent light
#

it's just BFV is the most demanding game on CPUs

vivid geyser
#

maybe i need to upgrade my CPU but idk what cpu's my motherboard can use:S

latent light
#

you already got the best CPU on that motherboard chipset tbh

#

I mean 7700K might be supported on your board via BIOS update but that's not a worthy upgrade

vivid geyser
#

So true @latent light so true

latent light
#

can you overclock your cpu?

vivid geyser
#

1 last question is it better to change nvidia 3d settings or keep it at default

#

Nah i can't.. I mean i never tried

latent light
#

I kept it default on my nvidia card

#

6700K has an all-core boost to 4.2 GHz, really shouldn't be having any problems with it

#

do you have dual channel ram?

vivid geyser
#

I was running the game over 120 fps but after the update it was like 70 or below then i stopped playing tbh

latent light
#

if an update messed up your performance, maybe a file corrupted in the update process

#

try repairing game files

storm osprey
#

i like gaming averages, its what ill be doing and its good to know what to expect

#

thats like people ripping on metacritic

steep gust
#

@vivid geyser Its binning your CPU

#

4c 8t ain't very good

#

My 1080 / 8600k @5.0ghz handles BFV fine

vivid geyser
#

yeah my cpu is bad

latent light
#

not bad

#

it's just BFV is the most CPU demanding game ever

steep gust
#

Its not amazing

#

but it ain't bad

latent light
#

I figured my Ryzen 5 1600 even overclocked to 3.8 GHz would struggle some in BFV because the clock speed but I don't get stutter

steep gust
#

clock speed =/= performance

latent light
#

if Ryzen could do 5 GHz it would help it a lot though

steep gust
#

not really

#

FX did 5.0ghz

#

and it was ass

minor turret
#

obviously thats assuming ryzen maintains its current IPC at higher frequencies

steep gust
#

Which it currently won't if you want 5ghz

#

Zen2 isn't hitting 5ghz on more than one core (and that is useless)

latent light
#

Google partnered with AMD for the Stadia, people are thinking this will bring back multi-GPU gaming from the dead because Google will pay devs to optimize for crossfire

#

don't know what to do so im posting this for maybe some inside help. So i have been having an issue trying to run battlefield where it doesn't start it goes to a small black window screen then crashes, i dont know what to do and im about to refund the piece of crap. So any help would be nice

pallid silo
#

So the division just loaded then restarted my PC then it loaded into windows again opened uplay and now its keep doing that and when ever I update to latest nvidia drivers it crashes my bf5 game all the time I'm so confused!

whats the socket of the i7 3770?

@latent light My buddy has a 1600 and rips hard, dude's pulling identical 8700k single core on cpuz.... with a 212 evo

#

That's another cpu people underestimate

sand charm
#

Does anyone have the trouble of after downloading the Fire storm update, The actual game keeps crashing whenever I try to play the game

latent light
#

8700K at stock?

prime jasper
#

Yeah

latent light
#

I think if you put a 2600 at 4GHz and 8700K at 4GHz, the 8700K will have about 8% higher IPC

#

1600 to 2600 is ~3% difference in IPC

#

2600 to 3600 will be at least 13%

#

Zen 2 will have higher IPC than coffee lake but coffee lake will likely still have clock speed advantage

visual summit
prime jasper
#

You pretty much hit the nail on the head

#

But since intel is going for more core count

#

Mhz wont really favor intel since the heat

#

So who ever gets a zen 2 and cools it down enough, none ln2 intel really wouldn't stand a chance

latent light
#

I'll probably wait for Zen 2 refresh because I don't think I need to upgrade my 1600 yet

latent light

one nice thing about this 770 is that it will overclock better than most 1050Tis

Gone are the days of 40% OC, here are the days of 5% IF you're lucky

latent light

well cards today have much higher boost frequency over stock frequency lol

lofty light
#

CPU's overclock bad too

orchid cargo
#

GPUs are already overclocked out of the box, their potential beyond that is typically small, my 2080 has i think 3 variants and price points. CPUs however, will depend on the make/model, i have my stock i5 8600k from 3.6 to 5.0, stable

#

my 7700k however i think is 4.8 stock and can only hit around 4.8 stable, could just be silicon lottery, but my 8600k is way better for gaming

#

sorry, 7700k is 4.2 stock

#

and i can barely push 4.8 on mine

#

under a 240mm AIO

#

my god im braindead tonight, 280mm

#

so everyone will have different results, you just need to get lucky, and pick a cpu model that can be pushed far

#

the 8600k as an example any off the shelf 8600k should be able to hit 5.0, its rare i see people only not being able to get that speed

#

but its rare for a 7700k to stay cool and stable at 5

#

i dont mess with AMD so i cant help with those, ive been in the game long enough to know that intel has been and so far will continue to control and dominate the market with a better product, sorry AMD. AMD for me has failed to deliver for too many years

prime jasper

Ok the last time I've asked for help with something I ended up being busy with other things and never responded so sorry about that lol.
This game caps out my cpu and it causes microstuttering and sometimes pc crashes. I've found that locking my fps to 60 brings the usage down to around 80% but 60 just feels choppy for some reason. Is there anything I can do to reduce the cpu load or am I just stuck with it in this game.

supple bane
#

well what cpu do you have for a starter?

#

and what graphics settings are you playing it at

prime jasper
#

Woops forgot to put that in there. i7 9700k. I've tried low and ultra. only difference in cpu usage between the two is like 5-10% lower usage

#

Both also still end up stuttering or crashing the game at some point

supple bane

bfv is known for using alot of cpu power so its not just you that is stuck at 100% usage, but i dont know about the stuttering,

#

Then again, the old paste has been there for almost 5 years so it makes sense

prime jasper
#

yeah, people forget that, GPU base clock speed has been pretty much the same for a long time until recently. my original pentium 4 single CPU had a clock speed of 2700, at the time it was OP but only had 512mb ram

#

64mb video card

#

650 watt psu

#

going further back, my father bought me a packard bell pentium 1 in 1997, that was 200mhz, 32mb rm, 8mb video card, could run quake2 on medium settings

molten bramble
#

We used to take 486s that became really cheap when the Pentium line really started plussing up and setup clusters via FreeBSD on a bunch of them which ran just right.

#

Basically what server rooms have today, but with a lot more power than what we had then. We'd stack them 20-30 deep in comms closets since comsec wasn't really a thing for telecom then, run our own warez collections out of them collocated on 'borrowed' lines. ๐Ÿ˜„

prime jasper
#

lmao

molten bramble

messaging/bbs, etc. you name it

#

iTunes came along and we still had more songs for download than they did for the service at the outset. lol

#

That's when it was all relatively innocent to rip music

#

In fact, I remember Apple marketing their DVD burner in one of their Macs to do just that, and they got away with it

#

I think they had George Clinton as the spokesperson even

#

It came in handy though to have dozens of shells ready to go on hardened infrastructure, IRC alone could be a warzone, so you didn't want to login on your own line.

prime jasper
#

I remember my dad was marketing director for a big chain store (1998) and they had to make weekly "specials" newspaper inserts in freehand 7, they installed a very expensive data line from the studio in the city to the publishers factory, about 4km away, line speed was 10mb/s

prime jasper

molten bramble
#

That was a real pain in the ass, but you know, we thought we were doing something there.

#

Looking back, everything was so constrained before the Internet came alive.

#

Telex trunks were expensive as well, overseas confs with AT&T weren't cheap (not that they were paid for ๐Ÿ˜„ )

#

Had a buddy of mine get hemmed up and slapped with a $22.5K bill from AT&T after they finally tracked him down from the confs he'd run

#

He was from Ireland though, so it didn't really play well.

#

I remember him having a garage full of old Tandys, he'd pull them out of businesses that were upgrading.

prime jasper
#

hahaha

molten bramble
#

Another one of my buddies got snagged by the Secret Service for pranking Bill Clinton after he'd exploited their PBX.

#

He was part of the phone phreaks in Dallas that got their peepee slapped by the feds

prime jasper
#

same also with international roaming, go on holiday, your laptop updates and one week later hello 20k bill

#

oh wow

#

reminds me of my college intranet and partitioning network drives to play dos games .. hide and go seek in the campus library, network admins sending campus security .. now this was 1995 and campus security couldn't tell a pc from a brick wall, .. good luck sadmin, you'll never take me alive

molten bramble
#

hah

#

I remember we took over the intranet one time in this university I went to, HDDs in those days were horrible chatter boxes of course. One of our guys ended up working up some code that we distributed across the machines. Ended up playing a symphony of sequenced sound for Christmas. Probably damaged the drives, but ya know.

prime jasper
#

hahaha

molten bramble
#

I use the term Intranet loosely, because most didn't have campus wide networks, they were typically in the labs only.

prime jasper
#

yeah they were a mess

molten bramble
#

Now, CAT5 is stupid cheap, but then people were still using BNCs

#

And when the Internet came along, the only places that could really afford it were the libraries

prime jasper

ever seen a 40 million $ destroyer go tits up because the 486 they used for the bridge computer would get a time conflict with the GPS time and reset every 5 minutes

Hello I have a question for anyone that wants to help. I have a 49 inch samsung ultrawide monitor. I generally play games at 1920x1080 in borderless and the game plays in the middle of my monitor while i can use each side of the monitor as if they were seperate. This works in all games EXCEPT bf5. I want to be able to stream this game and make content with it but it has to be able to play in 1920x1080. Anybody know how i can get around this. Even setting it to 1920x1080 and applying it in both windowed and bordeless still keeps the game full screen just stretched. Any help would be awesome thanks

summer bronze
#

what resolution is the monitor? If it's ultra wide it might not be 1920x1080

#

Make sure the "Fullscreen Device" is the desired screen

Another potential crash fix for some people that has worked for me:

`Open up Battlefield V__Installer\vc\vc2015\redist\ and selectย vc_redist.x64 orย vc_redist.x86 if you have 32 bit OS. Install.

I was crashing because I didn't have it installed. I had a 2017 version and some other older versions but not the 2015 version. So I removed the 2017 version since it won't let you install the older version if you have a newer one. You can install the 2017 version later. But for now I'm not going to because it seems to have fixed crashing errors I was getting today. I was crashing every round, game would lock up. Since I installed the correct package (2015) so far rest of day has been crash free.`

@tall hare your graphics card settings may be defaulting your resolution to 1920x1080p full screen. You can disable this in your nvidia or AMD control panel

i just had to update my mobo audio drivers??
never have to do that with other mobos? So weird

supple bane

yes when a driver of any type goes out of date it will usually cause problems

cosmic warren
#

yes but on other mobos i never update drivers for it

#

and it just well as Jensen states, "It just works".

maybe that update made some big changes or when the update occurred, bfv wouldn't be compatible with the old driver or something along those lines, i dont know

so weird

i should really write a review about this kb, ik i have had it for less than an hour but the key catps feel amazing the switches sound great and feel great and even tho it doesnt have software it is some of the best rgb options and colours i have seen

Ive recently tried to reinstall BF4 on my PS4 (with disc). I install the game fine, and as expected it immediately needs to download an update

If you can't find your answer here either refer to support

I decide to play some SP whilst I wait for it to download

All good, can play SP fine etc etc

supple bane

right....

main coral
#

then when I restart the game after the update is fnished downloading

#

it keeps telling me the disc is unreadable, dirty/broke. It clearly isnt. its near mint and I can litrally use it to play the SP on, so i know its not that. Whatever this update is, it is breaking the game

supple bane
#

have you tried to clean the disk anyway?

main coral
#

yes, its all good 100%

#

ive uninstalled several times and the error happens only when the update is installed

I'd say ask support or your retailer in that situation

just wanted to ask
I have an i7 7700 GTX 1060 6GB 16GB ram
normally i would get 60 - 90fps lowest settings during start to mid game but towards the end of the game where battles are more intense and are in a smaller area it can go down to 35 - 45 fps

is that normal?

Have you tried cleaning the optical drive itsel? They gunk up with dust over time. There is a disc with little sponges one can put in to clean them off.

My GPU is sagging like a Motherfucker
Scared something might happen to it
Does anyone know where I can get a Bracket or some sort of bar to place under it?
I have a GTX 1080 from MSI if that helps

#

I also live in South Africa so international Shipping is obviously a Must

supple bane
#

there are many tutorials on yt which show you the best ways to sort that out

prime jasper
#

Any you can recommend to me?

supple bane
#

is your case made so the psu sits under the gpu?

#

because if so i would just get a pencil or something and stand it on top of the psu and put the other end on the frame for the fans of the gpu to hold it up

prime jasper
#

I have the NZXT S320

#

Mid Tower

#

It has a little shroud built over the PSU

supple bane
#

just finding a pic of the case, one sec

prime jasper
#

No worries

supple bane
#

the best crude thing until something arrives for you then is just to get a metal pipe or a long dowel and cut it to the perfect length to hold up the gpu just until like i said something more professional arrives

prime jasper
#

What do you recommend?

#

A bracket or one of thsoe Bars?

supple bane
#

well you can buy things that do the exat same thing of getting a piece of dowel and propping the gpu up but both the proper ones and the crude dowel options are very obvious but a bracket is a little more out the way if you know what i mean

prime jasper
#

In the sense of that youre youre not gonna notice it

#

As much as a giant fucking rod standing upright next to your GPU

supple bane
#

^

prime jasper
#

Aight Aight

#

Whats the actual name for it btw?

supple bane
#

anti-sag bracket

supple bane
#

well if you are really worried like i said run down to the hardware store and grab some dowel and do what i said just until your actual bracket arrives

prime jasper
#

Yeet

#

Should I ask for Anti-Static or soemthing?

supple bane
#

nah, as long as you put on the plastic case that goes around the fans on the gpu it should be perfectly fine as its wood and doesnt conduct

#

and neither does plastic

#

just make sure you dont put it on one of the fans

prime jasper
#

Ye I will

Thanks for the help btw

molten bramble

Not entirely true, PVC can introduce static electricity. I'd mount with metal at hardpoints or wood.
