Yee atm 2nd place is a guy with RTX titans and he averages around 60fps in bfv ultra 8k
Im at 63-91
you got 2 of those hall of fame cards?
I do recently yes
how much were they each
lol
you put a waterblock on both?
Will be putting a heatkiller gpu core on them, mostly will have ln2 pots on them for next few months
They really should not have came with a cooler tbh
Yee there water block sucks
Yup yup
Get Heatkiller to custom make a block :^)
I'm sure the demand for HoF waterblocks is huge
yeah just have some airflow
I mean... it's in a deep freezer
Now if your VRM sucks ass it might get warm
so if I take apart my RX 580 and put the cooler back on without putting in new thermal pads it will be ok?
I mean... the freezer ends up off
The cold comes from the blocks
Yee, use a flat razor
usually the pads tear and you can't do anything about it

I been looking hard for one of those big rolls of thermal pads
and a 1080 is a lot more power hungry than a rx580
my rx 580 185w tdp
only has 1 8-pin connector

tbh the only reason I haven't taken apart my RX 580 is because if I do tear a pad, I don't have a spare one anywhere
and i don't know what thickness to buy

calipers
Any tech savvy people around?
define tech savy
It really depends what you mean by run faster
put everything on low/off and play fullscreen
Oh, I was thinking he had a bad internet connection
if you want a faster character, play octane, pathfinder, or bangalore
shit my dudes
i was meme'ing around and i got legit advice
apologises and respect โค
well, if you ask for advise in a channel mainly for giving help.... your probs going to get advice... but its all good
Hey, I've recently got the trial version of BF V to test the performance, and I've got to say, it's fucking atrocious, it's around 30-40 fps and stuttering on most maps on lowest settings. Im running RX 480 8gb OC'd a bit, I5 6600k @ 4.6, 16gb 2133hz, Win 7, on a HDD, any help?
also press 3 to holster weapon to make apex run faster
@robust light turn everything off, future frame rendering, motion blur.. everything
and then toggle between dx 12 and dx 11
though, i think amd generally works better on dx 12 right?
From what I remember, dx 12 on fb3 is a fuckign joke.
also win 7 doesnt support dx 12
maybe turn the resolution down a touch and then you might be able to bring the settings up a bit
I eat my words then. lol
granted thats a 1080
Though, from what I've googeld, people either get like 80-90 fps on ultra, with a i5 6600k and 1060
I shouldn't be forced to go fucking troglodyte mode to get more than 50fps
found a video for the division 2 and dx12 gets more fps for amd as well
yea all the videos i shortly just watched gave dx 12 more fps
i mean, the only thing that looks like it would concern me of your specs is w7
Though, no other game has a problem with it.
ehh, unless bfv is the exception, i just watched a video comparing the 2 with modern titles and its the same
And assuming I change to W10, I doubt it'll be enough of an impact, for it to go into the 90's range on high settings, as in most benchmarks.
I Got a friend who had same problems in w7 just we other games . I told him to upgrade to w10 He was like Nah mate
I Finaly Got him to upgrade
And He was like What i now get over 100 fps in my games
But Thats my Take on it.
dx12 gave me a ton of fps
problem is you have the bare minimum RAM needed to run it, actually your whole system is at minimum specs for the game
Again, people with similar specs seem to be getting satisfying results
does anyone know where the geforce experience is saving the automatic game recordings ?
i keep getting the notifications that it has been recorded because i got a multi kill yet i cant for the life of me find the clip in my files
so all its doing is taking up my space on my hdd
where is %temp% ???
Dx12 gives you performance because your CPU side is lacking
Dx11 is more GPU dependent
4790 none k?
none k
In bfv is rough
@supple bane Press it in run %temp%\Highlights\Battlefield V
Np

I mean stock ddr3 will bottle neck real fast in bfv @storm osprey
So it makes perfect sense
Bfv is extremely CPU intensive
Your 4790 was really built to be with gtx 680, 780
๐คท still getting over 100 fps so im good
@mortal nacelle do you know if there is a way to change where geforce saves these clips ?
because i would like to have it somewhere i can easily find
Nope

see, such a simple thing like that, can make programs that are already as cool as geforce experience wayy better
@prime jasper a random question, but do you have any idea why 1440p no AA would have a higher power draw than 1080p max 8x AA if memory usage is within 50mb of each other and gpu usage is at 99-100%?
noticed a much higher power draw in valley bench when testing two different scenarios, end result being OC fail at 1440p while stable at 1080p
get better pc ๐
@minor turret what's your cpu?
2600@4.25ghz
2600 is really a old cpu :S
r5-2600 ofc
Oh lol ๐
Well AA goes to the CPU first for instructions then tells the GPU what to do, 1440p would be high draw because your GPU is working much more
Sounds about right
You have 4.25ghz on all cores in bios? Or is this the automatic oc?
For daily you dont pass 1.385v correct?
of course not
3400 16-18
Runs stable on docp?
So its 3000mhz b die kit?
Hehe that's not b die unless it just came out when ddr4 arrived
typhoon claims it is 2666 BCRC
also, the FPS in valley on 1440p
was achieved by forcefully dropping voltage and clocks
from 1.093v to 1.030v and clocks by 50 mhz
otherwise it would outright fail due to power draw
Fail as in crash?
None of you have experienced crash?
Only unstable clocks in bfv crash, extremely rare for frostbite to randomly crash
ah those are benches i did before i put to 4250 to improve scores, dont know where i have pics to them
Unstable clocks?
Yeah, even stock settings will be unstable, all depends in the chip
I have a decent PC.
Gtx 1070,i7 8700k,16gb ddr4 3000mhz
You OC'd anything @signal forge?
56ยฐC
56c for everything?
@minor turret also for ryzen, unstable ram will loose alot of CPU performance, sometimes wont crash because it forces windows to continue on
Try your xmp vs on and off at 4.1
Would be an intermittent error, passing HCI1100%
Even 1 error enough
oh fuck me i will actually test that then
i assumed any error not spotted by 1000% would be a goddamn unicorn
Dude I know whatcha mean, sorry if I seem anal... even doing multiple memtest for days will only spit 1 error and that alone will fuck fps
Memtest = 0 errors, aidia64 cache test = 0 errors
That's what your looking for
Same with prime95 small
It may seem way to harsh but in bfv, its needed
If you have a GPU in your loop, also need to have your GPU under stress while testing CPU
The water temp dictates what stable is on your CPU
Sucks backing down clocks, but what sucks more is worse fps, frametimes and stutters than a fx8350
I had literally zero issues with aida64 or prime95 on my overclocks, but playing apex... multiple crashes :D
Recently?
well i removed cpu overclocks and no crashes
GPU in the same loop?
yes
i hear apex really hits ram hard
temps not an issue
There you go
unless 50c gpu + 75c cpu is bad
Apex recently is 30% more optimized so your GPU and CPU will get hit correctly now
Even if your water temps go up by 5 degrees, that alone will throw off your clocks
Because before your fps was being dictated by the servers
No matter how good your PC was
They recently did driver updates and server upgrades
@sonic osprey apex has serious issues with crashing
My hardware is entirely stable (from months of using it)
And apex crashes 3 times in 5 minutes
im lucky, i only crashed in bfv and apex combined less than 5 times
yeah apex is unstable as hell from whatI've heard
my friend has an i5-7400 and RX 580 and crashes every 30 minutes or so
and some people with the best hardware crash a lot too
I stopped crashing in Apex once I disabled 144hz for the game
latest drivers, 144hz, win10 1809, 'hc' overclocks, not good combo for apex
Apex being optimized like ass is bad
Was crashing every 2 games, at least it fixed my issue temporaly :/
It was fixed but it was terrible
bad_module_info, very common crash reason
is apex crashing worse than BFV crashing when BFV launched?
for rtx yes

Hell I'd compared it to BF4
It would crash in the main menu
It would crash when picking a legend
it would crash doing literally nothing
I started running back through my DLCs trying to figure out which was the legends. Old brains on me. LOL
I never had it crash, but I did have it slow to a crawl
yeah i played on a 360 then so
I mean.. 360 though, that hardware just crashed if you sneezed. LOL
I went through three 360s, never had an issue out of my XB1
Like once in a blue moon crashing
https://answers.ea.com/t5/News-Game-Updates/PC-Patch-Live-Now-An-Update-on-PC-Crashes/m-p/7718856#M21 look at that
dumbass game :^)
Changing memory that is being used by the program without telling the program that the memory has been changed is bad
yah, I know, I (partly) do programming for living
but playing the blue screen game is the best part!
yeah, my latest crash was hard freeze, everything running in background a-ok, but cant kill apex or alt-tab
nope, could not get any window to foreground
apex was always in foreground
ctrl-alt-del showed the dialog, could launch task manager, but it just would not go to foreground
happened to me with war thunder crashes
oh yeah
the game would dominate the screen and wouldn't even let task manager pop-up over it
oh that dialog has that option as well
should just bind a macro key to kill apex.exe
Google Stadia could make game developers optimize for Crossfire on AMD cards

tbh 1660Ti isn't impressive either, 1070 performance 3 years later for only $50 less

this puts it at at least slightly better than 1070 pef
but for 1080p, 1660ti is my recommendation atm
average fps across multiple games
= shit benchmark
You are comparing pretty much the same generation of hardware
Just show the performance off in proper benchmarks
MSI rolled out BIOS updates for 300 and 400 series chipset for "upcoming CPUs" on wednesday
Zen 2 coming shortly?
do you think motherboard vendors have information on Zen 2 CPUs already?
is gtx 1080 i7 6700k good for bf v?
if not why if yes with what settings
Yeah i believe so my cpu is old now
it's just BFV is the most demanding game on CPUs
maybe i need to upgrade my CPU but idk what cpu's my motherboard can use:S
you already got the best CPU on that motherboard chipset tbh
I mean 7700K might be supported on your board via BIOS update but that's not a worthy upgrade
So true @latent light so true
can you overclock your cpu?
1 last question is it better to change nvidia 3d settings or keep it at default
Nah i can't.. I mean i never tried
I kept it default on my nvidia card
6700K has an all-core boost to 4.2 GHz, really shouldn't be having any problems with it
do you have dual channel ram?
I was running the game over 120 fps but after the update it was like 70 or below then i stopped playing tbh
if an update messed up your performance, maybe a file corrupted in the update process
try repairing game files
i like gaming averages, its what ill be doing and its good to know what to expect
thats like people ripping on metacritic
@vivid geyser Its binning your CPU
4c 8t ain't very good
My 1080 / 8600k @5.0ghz handles BFV fine
yeah my cpu is bad
I figured my Ryzen 5 1600 even overclocked to 3.8 GHz would struggle some in BFV because the clock speed but I don't get stutter
clock speed =/= performance
if Ryzen could do 5 GHz it would help it a lot though
obviously thats assuming ryzen maintains its current IPC at higher frequencies
Which it currently won't if you want 5ghz
Zen2 isn't hitting 5ghz on more than one core (and that is useless)
Google partnered with AMD for the Stadia, people are thinking this will bring back multi-GPU gaming from the dead because Google will pay devs to optimize for crossfire

don't know what to do so im posting this for maybe some inside help. So i have been having an issue trying to run battlefield where it doesn't start it goes to a small black window screen then crashes, i dont know what to do and im about to refund the piece of crap. So any help would be nice
So the division just loaded then restarted my PC then it loaded into windows again opened uplay and now its keep doing that and when ever I update to latest nvidia drivers it crashes my bf5 game all the time I'm so confused!
sometimes new drivers just aren't good
guys uh
whats the socket of the i7 3770?
i dont know anything about sockets
i have an old i7 3770 but the mobo is probably damaged so id like to buy another compatible with it but shits just too old
so its hard to find
or to know
@fallen harbor H77 chipset motherboard
Z77 is an option too but is only better if you had a 3770K
tyvm
Anyone else notice stutters with r5 2600
I don't with 1600
Like im getting over 100 fps one second
Then it drops to 2 for 5 seconds
Then it goes back to normal
Im thinking its thermal issues
2 fps for 5 seconds? Sounds like another issue
@latent light My buddy has a 1600 and rips hard, dude's pulling identical 8700k single core on cpuz.... with a 212 evo
That's another cpu people underestimate
Does anyone have the trouble of after downloading the Fire storm update, The actual game keeps crashing whenever I try to play the game
8700K at stock?
Yeah
I think if you put a 2600 at 4GHz and 8700K at 4GHz, the 8700K will have about 8% higher IPC
1600 to 2600 is ~3% difference in IPC
2600 to 3600 will be at least 13%
Zen 2 will have higher IPC than coffee lake but coffee lake will likely still have clock speed advantage

You pretty much hit the nail on the head
But since intel is going for more core count
Mhz wont really favor intel since the heat
So who ever gets a zen 2 and cools it down enough, none ln2 intel really wouldn't stand a chance
I'll probably wait for Zen 2 refresh because I don't think I need to upgrade my 1600 yet
@final trout What's your budget
You want me to include a monitor and shit in there
no
or do you have windows and everything
mouse, kb, monitor, speakers/headset etc
you strictly want me to throw together a tower?
@final trout I just put together a brand new build totalling just under $800 for everything.
meh ill figure this out later
im kinda busy atm
Just gotta find the right sales and there is a lot of bundling going on the last few months that can save some coin.
where do u live?
And add another 8 gb of RAM
second hand parts could save u a lot of ยฃยฃยฃ$$$
why has no one in existence told me about that
the foremost website for throwing builds together
hhaha
yhyh try building in here
PcPartPicker is a great site, that's where I started some of my research for the build.
thanks for showing me this site
ok ace, but i pulled a random $800 build
depends becuae how new the 105ti isu
yh 1070
for about the same price
welp thanks guys
keep in mind
is banging i habe 107ti got on sale for same prace as a 1070
when you build
im gonna check around this site now
/r/hardwareswap
yh do it
My 1050Ti is just enough, but it strains, so if you can find one better take it.
second hand isn't as scary of a market as people make it out to be
Also, people
Please do not PM me asking for builds
Already been 3 people
Just use the site
Smartasses lol
the best sub $150 graphics card is the RX 570, gets 40% more performance over the GTX 1050 Ti
That's all fine and dandy, but you'll have more headroom in an $800 build
580 or a 1070 in that range
with a Ryzen 1600
it's just fine at 1080p
Especially if you dont have to include a monitor, windows, or peripherals
Dumpster diving is still a thing as well, I used to pick up some pretty good hardware from places throwing out old stock.
3 most expensive choice in a build are CPU, RAM, and GPU
Oh man
A fellow diver
i see
Radioshack was the most fun
back when they were still around
Heh, well, computer hardware used to be mildly unaffordable for the consumer ๐
Old habits.
$800 system isn't necessarily a budget build
because i was super poor
Ah, yeah, we had a sort of 'flea market' for hardware in dallas every first saturday.
We'd pawn off kit that we had no use for.
Sorry, third saturday.
That'd buy a month's worth of ramen and whatnot while in college.
Dallas had a massive telecom industry, so we were never hurting for hardware to find.
hah
The radioshack was fine with me digging around
I mean... has that changed? ๐
hell they started calling me to come look through it before they tied it up eventually
But that stopped when the manager had to quit
sad times
and yeah it has changed
My current friends got me into PC gaming 4 years ago
The land of Corvettes and Bourbon.
Started out with an Athlon II x4 645 and a GT640
and now i have an i5 6400 and a 2070
because reasons
and the 2070 i got for $300
only reason i even thought about it
about it*
Hmm, not two I'd put together I guess, but whatever works.
how do you like the 2070?
2070 for only 300?
bottlenecked pretty good by my procesoor
That is a killer deal
processor*
2070 for $300 isn't a bad deal
$300 for a 2070 is highway robbery
what cpu you got lol
Most I have seen go for about 500
oof
that doesnt like to turbo
What board?
Ouch
Maybe I should build one of my build...
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bt93YT @final trout
Although I've to update it a bit because I've thrown out my HDD and added a new 500GB ssd
$800
That's mine
had to update it
Are you banking on him having to overclock that?
Because that mobo eats quite a chunk of the budget
Worth it though
Keep in mind, while it is worth it
some people dont wanna risk OC
@final trout Do you have plans to OC or learn how to?
You do know I'm not discord right now right?
huh
Yes I left when I decided to check out the website
ah ok
Have you been talking to me the whole time?
Could go with the MSI RX 570 instead
Gigabyte one might be ok, but I'll probably never buy something from them again because of their customer service
got a defective motherboard and RX 580 from them and they want me to send my whole PC to them to look at lol
lol i wouldnt trust that
probably steal your whole pc
Gigabyte support is trash
Their software is shit, damn the customer service.
Meanwhile Logitech is great in support.
if you send Gigabyte a defective graphics card, they only test it for like 5 minutes and if it doesn't show the problems in that short time, they'll send it back to you and make you pay full shipping
Logitech is just good all around in my book. To this day I steer towards their product line, with the exception of a trackball--I use Kensington for that.
My G502 died like a year ago> Send a e-mail about it> gets asked for adress information> get send a new mouse + some stickers and a mousepad.
Yeah
This was in the Netherlands though
The only problem I had with that mouse was that I couldn't click my mouse anymore.
I've used some of these. ๐ฎ
I'm too young, I never used any of those keyboards.
Count yourself lucky.
When I first started using computers, we didn't have harddrives. :\
We also didn't have mice. lol
It's crazy to see how far the PC has come.
Supposedly there is a new version in the works.
Something not as clumsy looking either.
I know Intel is also making one
Didn't they make like 1500 of those?
Yeah around that number I guess.
OH!
It was also pretty expensive 1500 USD when it came out
I found an old TRS-80 the other day in a furniture shop. They had it as a conversation piece, but had no idea what it was.
Intel's Vaunt smart glasses won't make you look like a Glasshole. Dieter Bohn got an exclusive look at Intel's latest gadget. By shining a low-powered laser ...
Hey
hi
I have a 1050 and I'm getting 40 fps
$100 for a R5 1600
I don't think you'll see benefit with dx12.
My old gtx 770

trying to figure out what that moisture is
looks like it's coming from the thermal pads
Looks like a combination of dust and moisture.
Weird pattern, but looks like wherever it was tightened down at mainly.
the moisture is non conductive
You multi-metered it?
or else this card would of died a long time ago lol
card still fine
just replacing paste
Maybe your fan/heatsink is that effective and creates condensation.
still gets higher fps than 2080ti
go to 240p and this card gets 240 fps on BFV
this card gets similar performance to a 1050ti lol
Well new cards overclock like crap tbh
Gone are the days of 40% OC, here are the days of 5% IF you're lucky

well cards today have much higher boost frequency over stock frequency lol
CPU's overclock bad too
GPUs are already overclocked out of the box, their potential beyond that is typically small, my 2080 has i think 3 variants and price points. CPUs however, will depend on the make/model, i have my stock i5 8600k from 3.6 to 5.0, stable
my 7700k however i think is 4.8 stock and can only hit around 4.8 stable, could just be silicon lottery, but my 8600k is way better for gaming
sorry, 7700k is 4.2 stock
and i can barely push 4.8 on mine
under a 240mm AIO
my god im braindead tonight, 280mm
so everyone will have different results, you just need to get lucky, and pick a cpu model that can be pushed far
the 8600k as an example any off the shelf 8600k should be able to hit 5.0, its rare i see people only not being able to get that speed
but its rare for a 7700k to stay cool and stable at 5
i dont mess with AMD so i cant help with those, ive been in the game long enough to know that intel has been and so far will continue to control and dominate the market with a better product, sorry AMD. AMD for me has failed to deliver for too many years
I've i7 8th gen and gtx 1050 ti, and I'm playing at medium game settings on which i used to get around at least 60 fps but now after trial by fire update my fps dropped to 30 sometimes below 30 with same settings
@orchid cargo That's because of AVX offset
Anyone facing same issue?
Any hit's 5ghz yeah but still stock offset of 3 so it's really doing 4.7
Also you had a really shitty 7700k, mine and other's were getting 5.3 and was daily 5.5Ghz on ambient
Average 7700k's did 5.1
@blazing quest Someone was in here complaining of the same thing earlier, I've got a 1050Ti and only get 60fps myself
max
Must be something that happened with the latest patch
Did he mention any solution or any work around for this problem?
Nopew
welp my gtx 770 is dead now
broke off one of the small resistors on the left side of the gpu

Rip
i was watching some guy buy an old system of ebay, it had a core 2 duo, i was thinking to my self good look playing games with 2 cores and then when the specs of it came round i was very surprised to see that it had a higher base core clock than my cpu
Ok the last time I've asked for help with something I ended up being busy with other things and never responded so sorry about that lol.
This game caps out my cpu and it causes microstuttering and sometimes pc crashes. I've found that locking my fps to 60 brings the usage down to around 80% but 60 just feels choppy for some reason. Is there anything I can do to reduce the cpu load or am I just stuck with it in this game.
well what cpu do you have for a starter?
and what graphics settings are you playing it at
Woops forgot to put that in there. i7 9700k. I've tried low and ultra. only difference in cpu usage between the two is like 5-10% lower usage
Both also still end up stuttering or crashing the game at some point
bfv is known for using alot of cpu power so its not just you that is stuck at 100% usage, but i dont know about the stuttering,
What's the storage, hdd or ssd?
ssd
How much room on the drive and what's the pagefile size?
i have had it as well and i know it sucks, the way i fixed it was simply lowering the settings and that sorted it, but if you say you have tried that then i dont know
around 150GB free right now. How do I check pagefile size?
task manager i think might have something like that on there, im not sure tho
I had some issues with a fuller SSD and the pagefile causing some swap issues, dropped it into a different drive and didn't have problems.
Just checked it. pagefile size is 4864MB
You running dual channel memory config?
Yes
What's the temps like? What's CPUZ Hardware Info telling you?
I had an aircooled C2Q that ran really hot causing some skip
Older chipset but...
I'd OC'd it to 4.3Ghz, but on air so no bueno after awhile
^

Damn this MX-4 paste did great
GTX 770 never goes past 70C and even got a little more performance
Before new paste, it went to 78C lol
Blew away my expectations
Then again, the old paste has been there for almost 5 years so it makes sense
yeah, people forget that, GPU base clock speed has been pretty much the same for a long time until recently. my original pentium 4 single CPU had a clock speed of 2700, at the time it was OP but only had 512mb ram
64mb video card
650 watt psu
going further back, my father bought me a packard bell pentium 1 in 1997, that was 200mhz, 32mb rm, 8mb video card, could run quake2 on medium settings
We used to take 486s that became really cheap when the Pentium line really started plussing up and setup clusters via FreeBSD on a bunch of them which ran just right.
Basically what server rooms have today, but with a lot more power than what we had then. We'd stack them 20-30 deep in comms closets since comsec wasn't really a thing for telecom then, run our own warez collections out of them collocated on 'borrowed' lines. ๐
lmao
messaging/bbs, etc. you name it
iTunes came along and we still had more songs for download than they did for the service at the outset. lol
That's when it was all relatively innocent to rip music
In fact, I remember Apple marketing their DVD burner in one of their Macs to do just that, and they got away with it
I think they had George Clinton as the spokesperson even
It came in handy though to have dozens of shells ready to go on hardened infrastructure, IRC alone could be a warzone, so you didn't want to login on your own line.
I remember my dad was marketing director for a big chain store (1998) and they had to make weekly "specials" newspaper inserts in freehand 7, they installed a very expensive data line from the studio in the city to the publishers factory, about 4km away, line speed was 10mb/s
yeah we had one of those imacs
bubble one
And honestly that's essentially all Discord is, IRC with a pretty package.
We were all trying to figure out how it might be monetized at some point, they did it.
4gb hdd ๐
Heh, I had a machine that had no HDD, we swapped out 5 1/4 floppies between two drives, typing commands, etc.
oh yeah 286AT
That was a real pain in the ass, but you know, we thought we were doing something there.
Looking back, everything was so constrained before the Internet came alive.
Telex trunks were expensive as well, overseas confs with AT&T weren't cheap (not that they were paid for ๐ )
Had a buddy of mine get hemmed up and slapped with a $22.5K bill from AT&T after they finally tracked him down from the confs he'd run
He was from Ireland though, so it didn't really play well.
I remember him having a garage full of old Tandys, he'd pull them out of businesses that were upgrading.
hahaha
Another one of my buddies got snagged by the Secret Service for pranking Bill Clinton after he'd exploited their PBX.
He was part of the phone phreaks in Dallas that got their peepee slapped by the feds
same also with international roaming, go on holiday, your laptop updates and one week later hello 20k bill
oh wow
reminds me of my college intranet and partitioning network drives to play dos games .. hide and go seek in the campus library, network admins sending campus security .. now this was 1995 and campus security couldn't tell a pc from a brick wall, .. good luck sadmin, you'll never take me alive
hah
I remember we took over the intranet one time in this university I went to, HDDs in those days were horrible chatter boxes of course. One of our guys ended up working up some code that we distributed across the machines. Ended up playing a symphony of sequenced sound for Christmas. Probably damaged the drives, but ya know.
hahaha
I use the term Intranet loosely, because most didn't have campus wide networks, they were typically in the labs only.
yeah they were a mess
Now, CAT5 is stupid cheap, but then people were still using BNCs
And when the Internet came along, the only places that could really afford it were the libraries
ever seen a 40 million $ destroyer go tits up because the 486 they used for the bridge computer would get a time conflict with the GPS time and reset every 5 minutes
So we'd spend hours gaming the schedule system so we could basically take over a terminal.
Sit there all day and the librarians wouldn't really bother us because most people didn't even know or care what the Internet was
yep
they sneared at them and went bck to those silly cards with holes punched in them
Heh, ah the Dewey Decimal system
That's a lost art on today's folks I think, but some day we're going to be without computers and poof goes the knowledge when Google doesn't work
zactly
one time in the east china sea, this Taiwanese fishing boat was charging from ship to ship getting positional fixes because their GPS stopped working
I never made it out to the Pacific region, at least not yet, but maybe that's the next station.
I was lucky enough to go all over japan, still my favourite, so crystal clean
Heading to bed, night

Well I'm on Xbox can't really help ya, sorry.
I7 8700k.
16gb 3000mhz.
256gb ssd.
1tb hdd.
Gigabyte gtx 1070 8gb
Come on someone help
Help
Hang on
Lemme send a pic of my problem
"missing permissions"
Wtf does that mean
Anyway
Whenever I try and boot up bfv on my Xbox it's says "error 0x82D40003 occurs when you launch a game"
"sign in with the account that purchased the game or app, or, of it's a trial version that has expired, purchase the game or app from the store"
This has never happened before
Why is it happening now
I bought it online
Apparently I don't have the game anymore
It's installed but it says i didn't pay for it
Which I did
So
I just tried to uninstall and reinstall it
But when I uninstalled
It's gone
Did you buy it on the account your trying to play it on?
Yeah
I've been able to play it on other accounts too
It's like EA just decided I don't have the game anymore
This has happened to me with other stuff but never with a whole ass game
I guess I'm just gonna have to save money and buy it again
How many accounts do you have on your Xbox?
@mortal nacelle Yeah, that was called boxing. There were blue boxes and whatnot that that could emit certain tone patterns that would signal to the switching system the kind of call.
Can't really do it anymore.
i7-6700 and RTX 2060 running BfV on maximum xD
I'm in need of help. I almost never hit 60 fps even with these specs and i dont know the hell why? CPU: i7-7700k GPU: rtx 2017 8gb RAM: 16 gb
please someone any solutions?
reset your graphics
in game? i've already done that even uninstalled the game twice now
fps limit?
you use Wi-Fi or internet-cable?
do you have future rendering frames on?
of course or why would i need RTX
dx12 or 11?
for flexing for an overpriced item
dx12
should i use Future renderign frames?
in makes input lag but fixes fps so i dont know
Probably not the right place for this, but I'm getting sick of this crashing!

Not going to lie, the amount of searching I've done on the internet no one from EA has given a definitive answer to this, it's all the same shit I've tried.
they don't answer ,you maybe get answered from someone who have same problem , but EA development see your and try to fix it
thermal pads make graphic cards incredibly hard to take apart
the pads on my RX 580 are like glue
i have an issue on apex where when ever i get an origin notification the games minimizes
well somtimes it minimizes, sometime it will freeze for a while then come back, and other times it will just stutter then come back
does anyone have a fix for this ?
hi, how to fix the problem with mouse? (stutter etc)
where is this happening, is it in the game or just on windows desktop
do you know what the fps you are getting is, is it a steady 60fps or higher, or are you unsure
?
60
i dont think it is an issue with the mouse, i think you are getting something called microstutter
its the mouse xd
is the game just freezing for like a brief moment or does the game continue and you just cant look ?
I was going to ask what card it was then I spotted the huge fucking red sign saying what card it was

Hello I have a question for anyone that wants to help. I have a 49 inch samsung ultrawide monitor. I generally play games at 1920x1080 in borderless and the game plays in the middle of my monitor while i can use each side of the monitor as if they were seperate. This works in all games EXCEPT bf5. I want to be able to stream this game and make content with it but it has to be able to play in 1920x1080. Anybody know how i can get around this. Even setting it to 1920x1080 and applying it in both windowed and bordeless still keeps the game full screen just stretched. Any help would be awesome thanks
what resolution is the monitor? If it's ultra wide it might not be 1920x1080
Make sure the "Fullscreen Device" is the desired screen
Another potential crash fix for some people that has worked for me:
`Open up Battlefield V__Installer\vc\vc2015\redist\ and selectย vc_redist.x64 orย vc_redist.x86 if you have 32 bit OS. Install.
I was crashing because I didn't have it installed. I had a 2017 version and some other older versions but not the 2015 version. So I removed the 2017 version since it won't let you install the older version if you have a newer one. You can install the 2017 version later. But for now I'm not going to because it seems to have fixed crashing errors I was getting today. I was crashing every round, game would lock up. Since I installed the correct package (2015) so far rest of day has been crash free.`
@tall hare your graphics card settings may be defaulting your resolution to 1920x1080p full screen. You can disable this in your nvidia or AMD control panel
can I smash a 2mm thermal pad down to 0.5mm to fit into my graphics card?
May I ask why?
theres only one way to find out...
I took apart my card and the stock pads tore apart
you could, but to do it properly you'd need a press.
Just donโt use a lot
thinking about just getting little heatsinks and buying an AIO for my graphics card lol
heatsinks for the VRMs and memory
my audio for my headset isn't working in game
it only wants to play through speakers
I can use my mic audio and I've put my Headphones as default in Windows.
herp
@tall hare apply these settings in the nvidia control panel https://gyazo.com/18f11284ff3d4c0ff1b2f3e8be0423fe
guys my new kb came !!!#
i have been using this for like 30 mins and i already just want to type an essay on it
wow so i fix my audio issue
i just had to update my mobo audio drivers??
never have to do that with other mobos? So weird
yes when a driver of any type goes out of date it will usually cause problems
yes but on other mobos i never update drivers for it
and it just well as Jensen states, "It just works".
maybe that update made some big changes or when the update occurred, bfv wouldn't be compatible with the old driver or something along those lines, i dont know
i should really write a review about this kb, ik i have had it for less than an hour but the key catps feel amazing the switches sound great and feel great and even tho it doesnt have software it is some of the best rgb options and colours i have seen
i should wait tho and see if the cheap chinese stereotype is true where it will break after 3 days
whats its called
motospeed k87s
@latent light mx4 is the cheap paste though
guys whats the average frame rate with a RTX2060 6GB 1080p @glacial girder in Battlefield
@restive pike bfv isnt as gpu intensive as it might seem, i would say the cpu is more of a factor in that game. what processor do you have ?
is it ok to ask for tech support here re: battlefield games?
thats what this chat is for
Ive recently tried to reinstall BF4 on my PS4 (with disc). I install the game fine, and as expected it immediately needs to download an update
If you can't find your answer here either refer to support
I decide to play some SP whilst I wait for it to download
All good, can play SP fine etc etc
right....
then when I restart the game after the update is fnished downloading
it keeps telling me the disc is unreadable, dirty/broke. It clearly isnt. its near mint and I can litrally use it to play the SP on, so i know its not that. Whatever this update is, it is breaking the game
have you tried to clean the disk anyway?
yes, its all good 100%
ive uninstalled several times and the error happens only when the update is installed
I'd say ask support or your retailer in that situation
ty anyway

Just in case you need it
If it is actually broken for some odd reason ask your retailer, if it works for them it may be your disc reader
have no issues with others disk, im convinced its this patch, it only bricks whenever it finishes installing it
Could be
just wanted to ask
I have an i7 7700 GTX 1060 6GB 16GB ram
normally i would get 60 - 90fps lowest settings during start to mid game but towards the end of the game where battles are more intense and are in a smaller area it can go down to 35 - 45 fps
is that normal?
Have you tried cleaning the optical drive itsel? They gunk up with dust over time. There is a disc with little sponges one can put in to clean them off.
@sweet ferry You're going to need to report that. You're about the 11th person I have seen complain about that since Thursday.

My GPU is sagging like a Motherfucker
Scared something might happen to it
Does anyone know where I can get a Bracket or some sort of bar to place under it?
I have a GTX 1080 from MSI if that helps
I also live in South Africa so international Shipping is obviously a Must
there are many tutorials on yt which show you the best ways to sort that out
Any you can recommend to me?
is your case made so the psu sits under the gpu?
because if so i would just get a pencil or something and stand it on top of the psu and put the other end on the frame for the fans of the gpu to hold it up
just finding a pic of the case, one sec
No worries
the best crude thing until something arrives for you then is just to get a metal pipe or a long dowel and cut it to the perfect length to hold up the gpu just until like i said something more professional arrives
well you can buy things that do the exat same thing of getting a piece of dowel and propping the gpu up but both the proper ones and the crude dowel options are very obvious but a bracket is a little more out the way if you know what i mean
In the sense of that youre youre not gonna notice it
As much as a giant fucking rod standing upright next to your GPU
^
anti-sag bracket
Ahhhh
This one looks rather tasty
Hopefully it ships to this degnerate Shithole I call home
well if you are really worried like i said run down to the hardware store and grab some dowel and do what i said just until your actual bracket arrives
nah, as long as you put on the plastic case that goes around the fans on the gpu it should be perfectly fine as its wood and doesnt conduct
and neither does plastic
just make sure you dont put it on one of the fans
np
Not entirely true, PVC can introduce static electricity. I'd mount with metal at hardpoints or wood.
i dont think the case around the fans are pvc tho... i might be wrong tho
Sagging of a card is fine so long as it isn't torquing your PCB.
I build my 20k$ PC setups on my carpet
Only once I killed hardware from static electricity
Out of 10 years
use a straight edge razor to help peel it off
Nah they tore when I took the heatsink off the GPU

I thought warming the GPU would help
You warmed the GPU to peel off something that is more porous and absorbing (therefore flexible) when warm?
thermal pads are supposed to be easier to remove when warmed up
it's a gigabyte RX 580
I need 0.5mm and 1.5mm pads
0.5mm were used on the memory and 1.5mm on the VRMs
I got 2mm pads a few months ago but they are too thick and I can't squish them down
building a 2k pc rig atm. Would you guys get the 2080 or 1080ti ? Getting mixed opinions so far. both are almost same price / benchmark close to each other
Yeah I heard RTX is meh
