8350 is £50 more
tf?
@keen forge thanks bud.
But £60 for a wraith and 8370 is a pretty sexy deal
8350 stock is really low, there's a lot more 8370s out there
is 9350 etc a different socket?
Plus it's £160
8370 is 125w
More than a 1600
just a high bin high oc 8350 really
£20 less than I paid for my 1800x
4770k/4790k = 300-350 usd in norway when i checked
Thanks guys for the help 😃
4790k is a solid CPU
especially for bfv
yep
4790k is solid but at this point its better going for ddr4 rig
Plus it's cheaper than an fx-6350 by $30
userbenchmark is a shit benchmark
synthetic benchmarks are okay, just dont rely on game fps numbers
Yeah salty, if buying, ddr4 rig is better for sure, but I have friends who haven't upgraded their 47/49xx kfor yonks, solid CPUs
no userbenchmark is a trash comparison site as a whole
@trail cypress my friend says he gets 60-80 fps with his pc, 6300, 16gb, 1050ti everything off/low
You want to compare two CPUs on the same architect? Use Cinebench
but because userbenchmark doesn't show overclocking, or task manager priority, or bloatware, or anything its garbage for actual comparisons
pretty sure i just read a thread ranting about how cinebench uses 256 FPUs in a retarded manner that is not relevant for real life usage
it doesnt even represent AVX properly
so that aint perfect either
is it safe to overclock your monitor
i see it often, but the gains arent worth it imo
^
most monitors only overclock from like 60 to 75hz
or somethign small like that
its marginal improvement at best
hey guys
Hi
hellooo
So i on PC now, can I get my BFV from PS4 on PC now that I have one, Or do I have to get a new PC copy?
new copy
Dang,that sucks
i mean, you could try to get dice to give you a code
but i reallllllyyyy doubt they will
Yeah, have to pick up a new copy. I have it on XB1 myself and PC.
What should I do? Ask a member of dice for compensation, because I don't have the money
i mean, you can try, but i really really really doubt youre gonna get anywhere
Okay
That’s a weird system, is there no origin on Xbox/ps?
nopes
Huh
Lol
BAHAH
That is the new Radeon card? That's ridiculous. Looks like the risers we had back in the friggin' 80s/90s.
Please tell me that's a fake.

I think only my case could probably hold something that gargantuan LOL.
They photoshopped some of the fans out, otherwise it would just look silly

any way to remove the blocked user messages?
Remove blocked user messages? You mean you can't delete them from the client-side?
ye
i dont understand why discord doesnt give option to remove that when it pollutes chat
figured it out, need bandagedBD to apply a custom CSS code
Amazon.com: ASUS VG278Q 27" Full HD 1080p 144Hz 1ms Eye Care G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor with DP HDMI DVI: Computers & Accessories
FreeSync range 40hz-144hz

I'd prefer 1440p on a 27" monitor though
Question for you dudes
ANyone else having trouble with VOIP not coming through the right sound output?
My case USB header dont fit into my motherboard b350 tomahawk msi and corsair carbide 300r is there anyway to fix it
@maiden kayak Nope, just Discord or other clients?
USB header not fitting into the USB connector slot?
Sounds like the old jumper head style, the white one.
@molten bramble in BFV
My VOIP is set up correctly in BFV and Origin
But it still uses the wrong output
Oh, never had that issue.
@maiden kayak Didn't Nvidia added their own audio input/output in the sounds settings? Like in the latest patch or something. Idk what the correct term is, drivers? Could've screwed up something?
displayport doesn't support audio
I'm sure Nvidia control panel has had audio settings for a long time due to HDMI, but it shouldn't do anything if you well
don't use hdmi
https://imgur.com/a/Qg4IyBY Anyone got any input on this?
Are you on the latest driver?
Yes
Probably should clean install drivers

???
ray tracing tech is too expensive for consoles even by 2020-2021 standards

no way this would be possible
SSD storage on next gen consoles would be nice
but NVMe
come on
plus why the hell would a console need an 8-core Zen 2 cpu
NVMe is wasted on consumer PCs anyways
I mean if that was true, it would be really impressive
RTX on = lower fps = more time to appreciate the reflections
it just works

Alright, so im going to be buying a pc soon and i would like to know if this pc can run bf1 and v, here are the main specs
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4Ghz
Ram: 16GB of ddr4-2666 ram
Video Card: AMD Radeon RX 580 4gb (vr ready, dont know if thats important)
Mobo: MSI X470 GAMING PLUS Gb LAN, USB 3.1 (4 Rear, 6 Front),
PSU: 600 Watt standard 80 plus gold
OS: Windows 10
I would spent like $20 more and get the RX580 8GB
and get a better psu
other than that looks fine
budget?
ive heard those are good (sorry for the spam i dont mean it im just remembering things as i send them)
EVGA has bad PSUs
kind of yea, under 1.2K
cus its already 1.1K and i dont want to spend even more
modularity, do you mean customizability?
modularity is are the cables connected to the PSU
or can you remove them
semi-modular means only the required cables are connected to the PSU
like the cables that are connected to the mobo that hook up to the psu? sorry im like kind of new to the technical side of computers
Semi-modular comes with the CPU and Motherboard cables built-in
fully modular means you can remove any cable you like
no modular means no cable can be removed from the psu
Modular, semi, non
i dont know if this is important, but i am getting a pre built from ibuypower, but i can customize my specs
oh ok thank you grim that makes more sense
I would aim for at least a semi modular PSU
Corsair CXM (2015), SeaSonic FOCUS Gold, BitFenix WhisperM, EVGA G2 / G3, SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold, and Corsair RMx (2018) are all decent PSUs
I doubt it
Its probably the one o the cheapest PSU on the market, which isn't very good
Gamdias Astrape P1 RGB 650G - 80 PLUS Gold, Full Modular thats the one that i chose would this one work?
overpriced tbh
you can get a 650W gold psu from corsair for $100 cheaper than the Gamdias
oh alright
ryzen 7 1800x instead of ryzen5 is above 350euro https://prntscr.com/mceiub
had some driver issues with my laptop
its making my so annoyed
i decided to just do a reset
anyone knows a good gaming headphones that doesn't break for no reason suddenly
i had this msi ds502 and broke suddenly .... whenever i try to increase the volume from the headset itself the sound goes on one side
even though i never dropped it
^
well i need a wired headset with 7.1 surround
idk really about the budget the prices here are a lil bit different cuz of the currency
maybe a high end one or an avg one idk @plain vessel
yes good mic
i jus need something solid
many of my headphones don't live for so long
these are kinda expensive here th0 maybe a cheaper one

lol
mmmmaybe
Why do you need 7.1 surround?
it's a headset. Just use stereo
Most of them have two speakers anyways and just use software tricks to do the 7.1
And that's usually extremely awful imo.
^
I prefer a good stereo headphone.
Feels a lot nicer on my ears.
And that's the reason i got an ATH M50x because it was on sale.
If you're budget is around $100usd Sennheiser has the Game One. Or the PC-37x if you use massdrop.
^^^
Great speakers, built in mic
They're very comfy as well.
Plus Sennheiser sells parts for them so if they break you can fix them.
Instead of getting new ones.
Which is always nice.
Very
which doesn't matter here because i live under a rock
Speaking of spare parts, i need to see if i can't replace my M50x's ear muffs (is that what you call them?)
The foamy things?
Been using this for 3 years now
Why not @prime jasper ?
still going strong.
huh
oof
i was thinking about something like razer kraken
Razer Krakens are decent, but their mic quality is awful and mine barely lasted a year.
What's your budget in Egyptian pounds?
and their software is bullshit.
(I don't know what egyptian currency is called forgive me)
Because Souq has Sennheiser game one/zero for 5,659.00
Really? Huh.
God
Egypts money is better than South Africa's
1 Egyptian Pound - 0.76 South African Rand.
😿
what does
The whole currency issue. Let it out.
ooh
Its bullshit
🤷 Because our government is severely retarded.
That's about it.
I'm glad we had this talk.
👌
What one is a better monitor
first one
Yea top
awesomeeee 😄
thanks guys ❤
how do you setup remote desktop with at least 60fps? coz i know teamviewer is laggy as hell and i want to play games on my laptop remoting to my gaming desktop
...
is the bf5 updates just bugged because i just downloaded the anthem beta in an hour with like 19mbs and now i started the updates from last week and im dropping to kbs
Is your Wi-Fi sponsored by Mac Donald's
@pallid silo Get better wifi?
Damn I'm jealous of this person
Nearly 2v on vdimm but that is fine for benching
40 download and 5 upload xd @finite torrent @steep gust
Yeah that isn't gonna be enough for a decent streaming with low latency
ahh okay xD not even 480p?
i play my games at 1440p 144hz on gaming pc
steam link works well
Yeah because its a home network
If you mean from a different network you will not be able to play anything that requires fast actions
ahh okay fair enough! xD what about steam in home streaming?
If you have a good 5.0ghz network maybe
I couldn't get the steam remote play thingy to work well on 2.4ghz
how do you know if you have 5ghz]
Where is your router?
downstairs xd
Then it most likely isn't 5.0ghz
why? 😛
5.0ghz sucks at going through physical objects
the steam android app for link thingy was laggy as hell and had lag spikes
ohhh!
i use powerline adapter on pc
its good tho xD as long as you put it in a wall
yeah minus the interference and other issues
true 😛 but ive never had issues with my 40 down and 5 up
...
Learn Linus , they bypassed ISP
their network is directly hooked to the oversea internet traffic
they are their own ISP
No?
They have pretty much a fast lane to whatever company connects them to the greater parts of the world
hinges, reservoir brackets, pump mounts, and fill port
420mm rad in the top, 360mm in the front, 280mm in the base
EATX support
400mm+ GPU length
Now I wish they went with 360mm in the top and didn't bother with 420mm since it makes the case long
Think the 400mm gpu length is if you dont fit a reservoir, maybe something like 300-320mm with reservoir fitted
Max 440 mm with front fan mounted
So 440mm with a 25mm fan
Most "long" GPUs are still like 300-320mm
Navi's best card will probably compete with a 2070/1080
as long as it's under 400$ I'm fine with that
GDDR6 hopefully, even GDDR5 would be fine

Navi isn't gonna have HBM2
good
It really shouldn't
AMD's current budget lineup doesn't
They would have to do some serious changes to get HBM2
you think it will be GDDR6?
yeah lol
and now that both Samsung and Micron make GDDR6, Nvidia can't pull a GDDR5X
8GB of HBM2 costs $150, for AMD it probably costs them under that though because partnership
and as tech matures it gets cheaper
GDDR5X is high binned GDDR5?
yeah it's exclusive
if Navi can do 2070/1080/Vega 64 performance for under $400, it would be fine
^
Vega 64 LC is $500
I wanted a 56, but got a RX 580 instead

580 was like $120 cheaper
🤷
^
rn the 580 is around 200$ cheaper
but the 56 still has a huge performance gain over it
I just want to upgrade my 1070 already tbh

mhm

or mod it and let it draw like 200% more power
lol
HBM2 should be left alone since you can easily harm performance
squints loudly
Backplates do very little
it looks nice
If its that cheap its not gonna have thermal pads between the backplate and pcb

I was talking about heatsink for the gpu, not the backplate lol
it sits at the same price range as the rtx 2080 and get around the same performance
that's reassuring at least. I saw some people mention that it's not for gaming, but for content creating
so I got really really confused
it's a multipurpose gpu more than anything
it does content creation and gaming
this custom cooler is big
Ahh I see. I might get it then, but at $700 it's not a pretty price tag to look at. I heard it costs AMD about $300 usd to make this card (just the memory alone), but my wallet is still hesitant on this
I tink $550 or $600 sounds better
16GB of HBM2 memory costs average joes $300, probably costs AMD $200-250
Radeon 7 will have the same issue as Vega at launch
tiny amount of stock and huge demand
low stock
if they release 8GB or a 12GB version which is unlikely, it would probably be $100-150 cheaper
some are claiming it's impossible to make an 8GB version of it
would it even be a big difference between 8/12 vs 16?
some games utilize more than 8GB of vram
when settings are maxed out
I hear resident evil 2 can use 12GB
Why wouldn't it be possible?
People need to realize that disabling memory is not impossible
lol
Literally just laser off the SMD that applies to it
or just BIOS mod it and not solder the memory
8GB Radeon VII would be a good purchase
it wouldn't have 1 TB/s bandwidth anymore though
It wouldn't have much going for it then
1TB/s bandwidth and like a quarter of the FP64 compared to the Mi50
8GB version for gamers
I just want a viable GPU that's not over $500
2060 then
yeah 2060 is pretty good
GPUs over $500 are for 1440p / 4k nowadays
1070 Ti performance
you own a 2070 right?
2060 seems like a punch to the gut to 2070 users because it's much better value lol
I'm kinda trying to avoid nvidia, since I don't feel like they deserve the profit for price gouging their products
I have a 1080
and we don't say the cost of R&D
So claiming price gouging isn't exactly accurate
Nvidia does have much higher R&D budget than AMD does for GPU market
AMD is more focused on CPUs
but nvidia also knows their monopoly and will take advantage of it as uch
and after CES, they seemed more focused on mobile CPUs than everything else
so many typos god dam this mechanical keyboard
I know and I wanted that to finally end ;_;
yeah since the GTX 700 series
Not if Nvidia really wants to
in fact, they've been doing better in the mid-range for the past year
damn it, well if the only viable option is nvidia, I'm waiting until black friday sales so they don't get as much profit from me
but if Radeon 7 has enough stock and if it's good, I'ma get it
Nvidia already isn't making much of a profit off their GPUs
There is a reason why AIB cards cost more than the founders edition
well that's great to hear 😄
what gpu do you have right now
sadly only gtx 980
tbh you could buy an RTX 2060 for $350 then sell that 980 for about $150
that is true, yes. I'm just waiting to see how good Navi will be, first. Whenever possible, I want to support AMD if they make something worth buying. If not...I guess it's another round of Nvidia for me
I have never sold a GPU before though, so I don't know what wires to include or anything. I'm a dumb ass about this stuff, so I don't wanna miss a part, then have the buyer accuse me of scamming
So just say no included accessories
Oh okay, thank you
Saw you guys talking about the vega 56 PCB length, looked at mine, realised its half the length of the card xD
it makes sense because the memory is on the GPU die itself
so no need for all of that extra PCB space
I like it, it's got a nice chonky heatsink there
Stick the power monitoring on the backside and you can easily cut off 3-4in
HMB2 isnt on the die but the substrate
yeah it's the 2 dies under the main GPU die
they are logic dies with four 1GB HBM2 modules on each
they are stacked on top of each other
You can see the two dies in the paste
I wonder why the VRMs are that color
the mosfets are white and the chokes are brass color

I had a question.. I'm playing battlefield 1 on Acer predator helios 300 with 8gb ram,1050ti and 17 7700hq..how much fps shall I get?
Can anyone help
@tame topaz do you have anything running in the background?
@clever abyss no
weird. its a laptop correct?
Ya
@clever abyss but benchmarks on YouTube shows that it should give 80-90 fps at least ,on low settings
are you playing on battery?
@clever abyssno..I Never do
ok yeah that's weird
But on high and ultra it gives 40-50 fps..which is fine.. according to yt benchmarks
@clever abyssit definitely is
so what fps do you get?
and your saying thats not normal?
50-55 medium
@clever abyss 40-45 on ultra is normal..but not crossing 60 on low is not normal
i would just play on high then
My fps is not. Capped..
1050ti is nothing special, especially on laptop where GPUs are often nerfed
@tame topaz you have 8 gig of ram most likely single channel with bad timings
@clever abyssya...guess I'll do that too
that + laptop cpu will limit you
@minor turret ya...but I just ask for constant 60 on medium settings..is that too much
@minor turret ya but it's i7 7700 hq isn't it enough
new games like black ops 4/battlefield v will absolutely demolish CPU/Ram
if you have single channel ram you will notice it
also, the 7700 HQ is worse than 2600k, a 8 year old desktop cpu.
at least on paper
@minor turret ya..I played bfV beta...and it gave me better frames than bf1...I got a constant 60 on low...60-65 to be precise
Hi everyone, does anyone here play on a PS4 and uses an Elgato HD60S? To a Mac?
not bad
Geoforce though

My friend’s notebook is overheating and he opened up the internals to apple a new thermal pastes. His computer doesn’t boot anymore afterwards 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
he thought that maybe the problem is monitor and he dissected the whole notebook completely, now he cant put them back together...
570 for 120, with 2 free games
@soft pecan Outstanding move
Does anyone have any idea when that stupid AMD graphics drivers bug with the outlines will get fixed? They knew it was an issue a while ago but at 19.1.2 it's still an issue
Never heard of it
It’s a big thing on AMD
I tried to look it up but can't find anything on it

like what do you mean by outlines
I mean
overclocking Ryzen breaks battlefield's sound engine
so not insane that other shit is breaking too
I hear overclocking is causing crashing without error messages
considering how fine optimized BF1 is in current state, all problems with BFV are game related
The problem is apparently caused by a recent AGESA update. If you haven't updated your motherboard's UEFI/BIOS, you're probably not going to experience the issue.
it happens mostly on B350 motherboards
@latent light I experienced it on stock bios, an upgraded version, and the newest version
It's not a big deal, I only play at 60hz right now
but it would be completely fucking awful if I was trying to go for 144hz in Battlefield, which requires overclocking
sound seems to only be allowed 3-5 channels at a time
so it can play that many sounds but no more
the normal is 32+
so the sound constantly cuts out for everything and goes quiet
some things can be heard but most can't
game works fine otherwise
it's more of a motherboard issue
seems to happen more on the 300 series motherboards
I do have a B350
like I said once I eventually upgrade to a 144hz panel it's going to fucking kill me though
going to be impossible to get anywhere near that in Battlefield on 3.2-3.4GHz Ryzen 1
I kinda regret getting a $80 B350 board since the VRMs aren't that great and the built in sound is so quiet
sound cutting out happens on intel too
"I upgraded my PC to a high core Intel 7980XE overclocked and my sound is cutting out at random. I have tried onboard Realtek HD sound and astro a50 base station optical and USB direct. There is something that causes the sound cuts on high core overclocked systems. This is not exclusive to AMD ryzen. I have also disabled all the origin notifications and uninstalled nvidia HD audio out of the drivers."

It's definitely a Battlefield problem
that Ryzen and apparently other overclocked chips happen to be triggering
does it happen with other games?
it's probably because battlefield sound design is too good for some hardware to work with it

I do remember getting crackling sounds in BF4 whenever big explosions or many explosions were going off
but I will probably upgrade my board and CPU later so it should go away
but that was on a 4690K at 5.25 GHz
that'll be by the time BF6 is out though
also, the sound bug in Battlefront that went unfixed for so long
or BC3 pray to jesus
my old 4690K could hit 5.25 GHz stable at 1.28v

now my friend has it and he has it running the same frequency
you can have sound issues too if you have the sample rate and bit depth set too high in your audio settings
like on the advanced tab under speaker properites, you probably dont want the quality cranked as high as it can go
^
most people are running onboard, and those definitely dont support those rates
hell, even audiophile stuff doesnt
yeah you'll get weird issues due to resampling
off top of my head im pretty sure youd want about 16bit and 44.1khz max for most setups
i just leave it default unless you have a dac that supports something else natively
is it true that most games don't do a good job of utilizing faster memory than GDDR5
I don't get it on my rx 580
Driver number?
It's AMD's side, not DICE's
might have something to do with the new revive system
because that problem doesn't exist in other bf games
Nah it's been like that since before that
I did try that but it was still there - how far should I roll back?
how long does the artifact last
If you have any overclocks that has to go
I turn off all overclocks for BFV - it crashes if I OC
BFV doesn't like overclocks
and @latent light until you alt tab, enter squad menu or alt enter x2
BFV handles my overclocks fine
It sounds like y'all are running unstable overclocks all the time
my ryzen 5 1600 at 3.8 GHz has no issues
sometimes games are just weird though
I pick both
like GTAV would crash unless i downclocked my factory OC'd 980 to reference speeds
I'll leave it on and hit you up with the results when I can be bothered
while literally every single otehr game worked at another +150Mhz offset
war thunder used to crash my rx 580 when overclocked but at stock it was fine
I'm had plenty of benchmarks pass at 2050mhz on core on my 1080, and then a few will crash (Siege hates unstable overclocks)
Haven't OCd my GPU because i'm lazy
That's like saying your RAM overclock is stable because it only returns an error once every blue moon
Any error on RAM = ticking time bomb to corrupting your windows install
betrayed, do games take advantage of higher bandwidth speeds than GDDR5
people are saying an 8GB version of the Radeon VII will cut the bandwidth in half and will see equal performance to a vega 64
It ain't that simple
I mean 8GB HBM2 is at 480 GB/s already
games shouldn't be able to take advantage of faster speeds than that
Vega 64 is at 483.8 GB/s
Radeon VII is on a new node and runs faster than Vega 64
Also Radeon VII will have a few CU disabled so it'll overclock better
I’ve rolled back to 18.5.1, came out before BFV, hope it works

you troll @latent light

mg42 rof too slow
now talking about battlefield in tech
LOL

post that link here
which
to amd stuff
was tested as an "AMD Eng Sample"
possibly Ryzen 7?
ugh now im getting excited again

Means very little
@latent light That won't get 144hz tho
what won't

it's not even out yet
we've seen some benchmarks
we'll see post-release how it is
but it's very obviously not meant for gamers anyhow
it's a multi-purpose GPU
It has 16gb of HMB2 does it not
"multi-purpose" usually means it's going to be sub-par but playable
shits not going to be for games, you wait and see
AMD marketing
and literally said "and we know you want to see benchmarks"
they showed it playing games at CES
right, because its a gpu, and no matter its intentions, people want to see benchmarks
you're in for a ride
same for titan gpus
you can spend hundreds less and get the same performance
at least for r7 its priced a lot cheaper than titan gpus
LOL 116 SINGLE CORE SCORE, AMD BTFO
9700k is at 150-160
https://imgur.com/a/juZCWla average 9900k
welp, lets wait for final numbers and prices
@minor turret M8 userbenchmark is trash
I can run a 9900k at 7ghz or 1ghz and it gets treated the same
Your OC must be unstable then
116 single core is at 3.6 ghz boost
The test result lists the 12-core 24-thread engineering sample with a 3.4 GHz base clock and a 3.6 GHz average boost during the test. The 2D3212BGMCWH2_37/34_N product identifier lists the peak boost clock as 3.7 GHz, and the TDP rating as 105W. We're expecting higher turbo speeds from the third-gen Ryzen processors, the current gen tops out at 4.3 GHz, but early silicon typically comes with dialed back frequencies as vendors fine-tune the design. In other words, these results likely aren't representative of the final clock speeds.
The chips' single-core floating point score is also telling - at 130 points it outstrips a current-gen Ryzen 7 2700X (at roughly the same clocks) by ~13%, an improvement likely born of improved instruction per clock (IPC) throughput. That implies this chip comes with the Zen 2 microarchitecture.

wow 10-15% IPS improvement leaks and the leak happens to follow right down the middle
Y'all need to realize this shit is easy to fake and plenty of Zen2 leaks have been
@latent light sssh AMD bad, look at single core score lul
wont be able to run wow at 300 fps
with what GPUs
NVlink RTX titans
what can a RTX titan do at low settings in 4K
Shit wrong game why google
lol
the only 4K 144hz monitor has to be overclocked to get to 144hz
Best I can find
You mean the only 4k 144hz panel
There is more than one 4k 144hz monitor
yeah the acer one
Asus has one
don't they both do 4K 120hz stock and have the be overclocked to 144hz
Y’all see that new ultra wide screen from Samsung? Stupid big.
4k 144hz with HDR when using chroma sub sampling due to bandwidth issues
The monitor itself has no issues doing 4k 144hz HDR
DisplayPort does
yeah 32:9 5120x1440
Insane
I thought it went higher than that?
I don’t know if I’d want it to be honest, I like to segment my applications across screens.
I don’t even think the 1050Ti could properly drive something like that, probably have to get into the 2070 realm.
I'd like a 32:9 3840x1080 but I don't want it to be too big
just two 24" screen together
Considering an iGPU can drive 4k monitors
5120x1440 is almost similar to 4k in pixels
Hmm
yeah pretty close
I don’t think I would want a monitor that took up 90% of my desk.
I want a 3440x1440p monitor
I want ultrawide
ew no
Who makes that @steep gust ?
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#r=344001440 lots of people
3440x1440 is hard to drive at 144hz
Now add IPS and gsync / freesync and the list becomes smaller
I think I'll go with freesync instead of gsync tbh
Shit NVM there is only one then (at 120hz)
I want the X35 to be release
Ah, i saw a predator the other day, but it was pricey.
but then the price tag big oof
I've been thinking to buy a 43'' ultrawide monitor from samsung for a long time now.
Samsung Curved Monitor kopen? Bekijk de Curved Ultra-Wide Monitor 43 inch LC43J890DKU hier.
I have had a great experience with all my Samsung products, except their IP cameras, those are literal crap.

Samsung is great
Unboxing the Samsung C43J89 43 inch SUPER Ultra-Wide Curved Monitor. Thanks to Samsung for sponsoring this video. ►BUY on Amazon - UK: https://amzn.to/2N6qKf...
it looks great
🔥
only thing I don't like is the resolution
!jumbo 🔥
Could also get the 49'' for 100 euro more.
The 43'' is 800
I'm using an 34'' ultrawide at the moment.
It's great but I wouldn't mind something bigger
issues?
a few games have UI problems with anything wider than 16:9
Ah
then again, games that have problems with that don't deserve my money
Most games are great although I never play old games.
A lot of people who tend to hate on 21:9 are people who play mostly old games so the UI looks like shit.
Ouch
And a lot of old games don't support 21:9 so it isn't even worth to buy a 21:9 if you only play old games.
you can play at 16:9 on a 21:9 but there will be black bars
I mean, couldn’t you just dial it down and box it a little to play old stuff?
Yeah
Black bars are terrible
I don't even watch youtube videos on fullscreen just because of the black bars
Mostly use the larger setting
if I had a 32:9 monitor, I'd play games on the left half and discord on the other
like how my two monitors are already configured
This is what I have

Also have darkness
So you’d window the game on the same screen and then run it side by side with discord? Seems like that would break up the fluidity that you get with a dedicated screen. I don’t like doing that at work on a monitor with applications, I suspect it would drive me bonkers with a game.
That said, I have three 24” monitors at work, and it’s still not enough workspace.
Dunno, I don't really play old games.
97% of the games I have or have played had 21:9 support
I do like the organization of y’alls setups, clean.
I wanna get a 43'' ultrawide and replace the 27'' for the 34'' so i've stacked 2 ultrawide monitors.
My 1070 loves me for this idea
tbh 1080p ultrawide would be fine with a 1070
my 34'' is 1080p
A lot of people say 1080p is shit with ultrawide but tbh I don't really care.
It doesn't look bad
get a 1080p 32:9 and put it above your 21:9 as the discord/chrome screen
Stretching?
I'll be waiting for a 1440p 43'' ultrawide.
Is discord doing a oopsie doopsie again?
yeah my message failed to send too
yeah my message failed to send too
discord servers
discord is not a reliable voice chat for gamers yet
teamspeak and skype are still better in that regard
discord is the best text chat app though
discord is the best text chat app though
TeamSpeak has better settings
and quality
like teamspeaks shits all over discord when it comes to group leading more than 4 people
yeah lol
btw, Lisa Su confirmed more than 8 cores for 3rd gen ryzen in an interview
Reporter: So during the keynote, somebody messaged me about the core counts on Ryzen…
Su: So it only took like 30 minutes for somebody [to ask the question]!
Reporter: So can you give us any indication where Ryzen third-gen is going to be at?
Su: If you look at the evolution of Ryzen, we’ve always had an advantage in core count, and so in this particular case we wanted to show sort of a head-to-head comparison: eight cores, 16 threads. Some people may have noticed on the package that there’s some extra room.
Reporter: Yes, we’ve already done the math.
Su: So there is some extra room on that package. And I think you might expect that we will have more than eight cores. I didn’t say how many more.

And I think you might expect that we will have more than eight cores. I didn’t say how many more.
big thing there
@molten coral @latent light
Who needs one of those super ultrawide when you can have 3 monitors?
Even my massive desk isn't enough for that.... yet
You can see my PC hidden away at the right
@molten coral I have that same case i absolutely love it
I'm building a PC for a friend. Are there any changes I need to make for this? (He primarily plays Total War games and might get into some AAA games, but doesnt care about high-res)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vttgjy
Get a cheaper 580
or spend a little more and get a 2060
Get a better PSU
1070s are still pretty cheap
you can find RX 580s for $50 cheaper than that one lmao
Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 is going for $200 on newegg
probably the best 580 you can buy
RTX 2060 for $350 is another great option
also I can't recommend that ASUS Prime motherboard, 4+2 phase and doesn't even have a heatsink
just bare VRMs

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RFK4V6
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kmFGgw
@opaque sapphire
check out these 2 builds
changed the motherboard and graphics card
Only problem is 2 things:
- It needs ASUS Aura Sync regardless (and it needs to be M-ATX)
- 20- - series Nvidia cards are getting RMA’d like crazy, but we’re also trying to do a RGB AMD build. The 580 you first had linked is a great card, just not RGB 😦
@latent light
Thank you for assisting all of you!
this RX 580 has RGB logo on it
That just might work
Problem is, I'd need Gigabyte hardware for the RGB sync unfortunately
As long as it cycles colors it'd be great
yeah it cycles by default
Thats not bad
Do you think there is a better ASUS M-ATX motherboard though than what I have? If not, I may have to cycle out the RAM and Mobo
Thats a nice card
that ASUS prime motherboard you showed is just kinda meh
they didn't even put a heatsink on the VRMs
@opaque sapphire Uh what? The RMA rates for founder's edition 2080ti was normal
if you get a DOA card, just send it back for another
yeah they died slightly more than expected, but nothing crazy
I've had friends say they've RMA'd their 2070's and one 2080
Its been mostly dealt with now and it only really did anything to the FOUNDERS EDITON 2080ti
well 2080 Tis with the reference PCB
I know someone who has RMA'd 4 Titan X (pascal) and yet to get a fully functional one, one experience means very little
The 2080 was Asus and the 2070's werent founders i think. Not calling these new cards bad, they just had a rushed launch that's all
I mean the cards are also bad generally for their price
Personally I'd love to get a 2080 though
The 2080 is a terrible buy
Oh yeah def
Price to performance wise its shit
raytracing
The 2080ti got away with being the best of the best
"ray-tracing"
a single GPU can't do full on ray tracing and the BFV reflections ain't proper ray tracing
would be nice to see a Navi announcement
^^^
Computex
Navi is rumored to launch as late as July though
Literally my R9 fury is about to die so they need to hurry it up lol
die out of no where?
No, its just now started experiencing artifacts, occasional black screens (for a second), etc
weird
lower overclock if you have one
My fury is the highest clocked on the market (iirc) so its no wonder its dying so soon
It's at stock from the factory but I can try to lower the clock to see if it helps
Does the heatsink contact memory?
Um
A lot of cheaper GPUs cheap out on thermal pads
Which can end poorly if your GPU runs hot
I mean, this would happen at Idle too
I wanna check my RX 580 to see if there's thermal pads for the memory but I don't want to void warranty just yet
Legally it can't void the warranty
You now just have to prove you didn't kill it via removing the cooler
like there isn't a void warranty sticker on any of the screws
it's gigabyte warranty
for AMD, I'm just going to get Sapphire from now on
they are the best AIB for AMD
XFX is good too but XFX coolers are meh
XFX used to be Nvidia exclusive

now they have no partnership with them
Thats what I have (although it was new when I got it)
Hell of a card
Crushed 1060's and rivaled 1070's at the time
Yeah but I can still run titles (FFXV, Black Ops 4, etc) 60+ fps 1440p
I even ran BF1 at 50fps max settings on 4k

Vega 64 LC is nice but the power consumption
360W

I like hybrid cards
cool and quiet
Yeah. I really want that Radeon VII tho
do you need an ASUS board for that build
one you posted earlier
this one would be a better option
Thanks!
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Gigabyte Radeon RX 570 4GB intel core i7-8700K @ 3.7GHz 16G RAM DDR4 3200 MHz (2x8) Win 10. Latest Updates & Drivers
mother of oof
Cheaping out on thermal pads is a big thonker
unless labour costs are a big part of it
couple of dollars per GPU adds up
@latent light vega is like a jet engine
Idk about the hybrid+air cooler
But the power it draws its gross
It isnt even worth it
can anyone help me helping a friend to update the drives for battlefield 5? his geeforce experience is in version 388.57, but he needs 416.94 driver version or later for playing battlefield 5!
Delete geforce experience plz
Vega is fine
@snow snow he just needs to look for updates. What is the problem?
@tepid river why?
@steep gust its not dollars per gpu but cents per gpu
unless labour is really expensive
it says in geeforce experience that there is no more updates! @night talon
I am about to buy an asus with i7-8750h and gtx 1060 3gb vram, 8gb ram, will it run bf1 smoothly?
Thermal pads are not super expensive, but when you need a lot of them then cutting out $1-2 worth per GPU when you make 10,000 adds up
