this one is best value tbh
nvida control pannel lets add vivd colors without degrading fps
$600 for gtx 1060 performance
uh no
You can't make a monitor do more than what it can
just by software settings
without some professional tools
i literally just sai dthat
ima turn my saturation up
That isn't at all how color accuracy works
or proper vivid colors
if I want to make a mini-ITX pc for my friend that wants to play emulators, recommend a 2200G?
2200g or 2400g would be his best bet
The only issue i have with the new models of cards is the price
Radeon 7 might be a good idea
If it can beat out the 2080 once overclocked I'll go with one of them over a 2080 tbh
tbh 2200G and 8GB ram would do well for emulators
Which considering AMD has proper overclocking support
Only way I could justify getting one is by thinking it's a titan
Rip
My 1080 sucked with the lottery plus it died

Yes, turn that saturation up
amazon prime is the best thing ever
uh yeah no
I ordered my keyboard yesterday and got it today
vibrance =/= accuracy
your so annoying my god
I mean if you want vivid yellowish whites
i literaly just said i cna do what i want
and orange-ish reds
Tbh if you ever think your TN screen looks good go to a computer store and look at the expensive IPS monitors
cringe
yeah go look up how many OLED monitors exist
ya ik
Get one of those GSYNC TVs
Introducing the ultimate tear-free, stutter-free, 4K HDR 65-inch Big Format Gaming Displays. Only for hardcore gaming enthusiasts. Only from NVIDIA.
so vibrance 87% brightness 60 gamma 40
witch resolution at 4096x2160
looks like a rp off 4k tv
could do sata ssd for a little cheaper
usally 4k tvs arent this dark
yeah all ITX boards are pretty expensive
Might be worth doing that tbh
SSD looks a little overkill
You've got those Samsung qvl ones now too
nvm crucial M.2 nvme is as cheap as any sata SSD of the same capacity
crucial MX500 are amazing

best value prob
I wouldn't know
I have one for 500 gb
ty crucial for the low prices at the time
got it for like 150 when the evos were a couple hundred more
20tb HDD soon
I just get the Samsung sata sdds
™
Don't think they've been sponsored by crucial for ages
But their parts are often donated by the companies

"Only 10k he says"
ONLY
10K

The website articles show which parts are given to them
Lol
Linus is so out of touch
Stopped watching him forever ago
Only thing of his I like is the series where they make dirt cheap used part computers
Congrats
I guess?
I'm good
I gotta figure out what I am going to do with this Q9650/P5K-E build I replaced. Ideas? Thought about maybe just using it as a capture/encoder for video/stream with a pass through, but not sure that’ll be efficient enough. Considering OBS seems to run solid on the new one while I am in game... not sure what I want to do with it. Maybe I should just clean it all up and sell it or part it out.
@latent light Did you say you are running m.2?
yes
@latent light Prior to that, did you have a traditional SSD setup? I am trying to understand the draw to the m.2 format. On this new MSI board, I have a slot for it, but I am skeptical as to whether it is worth the upgrade, especially since I have an EVO 860 slotted anyways.
only reason I got a m.2 was because it uses no cables at all
other than that, you won't notice the difference between a 860 and a 970 unless you transfer huge files between drives a lot
Does offer faster throughout than say the 970?
Ah
The big files I keep on the two 1Tb WD RED HDDs I use for storage. All the programs stay on the 860.
Crucial MX500 M.2 1 TB for $135
Anything else I offload via LAN to one of the two 3Tb Synology NASs.
@latent light So m.2 is better for storage then, not running the system from? Say perhaps as a scratch disk for Adobe Premiere or something when working with video edits?
Samsung M.2 needs a heatsink to keep from throttling
mainly because they aim for the highest speeds possible on theirs
@latent light So apparently on this MSI board, it has one for it.
Oh really
The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled.
it really depends on the model of your board though
Ah, well, that’s be okay for me. I’ve got six SATA slots on there, only 3 drives at the moment.
Not really sure because like I was wondering up above earlier, if it runs well as a system drive, then I would buy a 500Gb one and just image the current SSD to that, then turn that SSD into the scratch, but if it runs better as a storage device, maybe I’d go to 1Tb instead.
I use the machine for editing, modeling, and gaming only. Everything else I use one of my Macs for.
mechanical drives are best for mass storage
but SSDs are better if you want to transfer files a lot
Well, 1Tb as a scratch, the mechanical drives would remain for storage.
fastest M.2 SSD is the Samsung 970 EVO
1 TB for $250 I think
but it's definitely not the fastest SSD out there
I think Intel Optane are fastest SSDs ever made
Was just reading about those yesterday
They offer a 1Tb? I didn't see higher than a 32Gb previously, but wasn't looking
Oh shit, they do.
Gawdamn
damn that thing is pointless tbh
To be fair, 1-sec performance over a 970 on a FFXIV load time doesn't seem worth that much additional cost
That's my board.
if you get Samsung 970 EVO, get heatsink
just to make sure no thermal throttling
M.2 heatsinks are cheap
M.2 Shield Frozr: Strengthened built-in M.2 thermal solution. Keeps M.2 SSDs safe while preventing throttling, making them run faster
Not sure how that'd mount with an additional heat sink.
That little cover between the two riser slots is where it goes.
looks like you have actually 3 M.2 slots then
Yeah, seems so.
Oddly, it doesn't say. I'll check the spec PDF real quick and see if it mentions. The BIOS on the MSI board is pretty involved and fantastic.
that's the stock heatsink
labelled 10 on the msi website
if you do get a M.2, put it in that slot instead of the other 2
Yeah, that's what I was looking at doing. I don't think I need three of them anyways, if at all. I might drop by MicroCenter tomorrow to take a look at what they have available.
What I found interesting about the BIOS on this board is that it demanded where to place the DDR4 for optimal use, heh. I'd never had a mobo talk back to me before.
lol
yeah stock heatsinks are usually not that good
they are just decorative
@molten bramble GN is Gamers Nexus, popular tech youtube channel
Ah, hadn't heard of it

LOL
I wonder if I can capture an iPhone's screen from OBS... hmm.
Just film it with another iphone, duh
ADATA has a much cheaper NVME SSD thats about as fast as 970 evo
XPG SX8200 Pro iirc

actually damn good case for the price

i just want a cheap case with side air vent, metal panel, 3x 120/140 fans or maybe 2x 140 fans, 140x fan behind, room for 2/3x 140mm fans top
no glass needed
oh and no HDD brackets infront blocking air flow
why is reddit trash now
i was forced redesign suddenly
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-GeForce-GTX-1080Ti-Gaming-11GB-V360-021R-NVIDIA-Grafikkarte/273656959893?hash=item3fb739d395:g:XDMAAOSwu3ZcPOm6:rk:6:pf:0&LH_BIN=1 the fuck, is there a new scam being run on ebay now?
send a brick and paypal wont refund?
pls rate my new setup
Nice prison cell setup
Is that a full-size radiator next to the monitor? You must be over-clocking the shit out of that hardware!
What brand gaming chair do you have?
@minor turret Paypal always supports buyers over sellers
Same with ebay
If I had a guess its a Kepler GPU with a modified BIOS to show as a 1080ti
Since you can't mod the BIOS on a 1080ti, and flashing a different GPU driver wouldn't work since they have to be signed
I googled it, theres a loophole where ebay wont take responsibility since it was a hacked account with fake listing
And paypal wont take action since documentation ebay sent shows a confirmed transaction
So they toss the ball to each other
buy it with a credit card via paypal
If eBay won't, and paypal won't
chargeback and force them
Yup, chargeback is only secure option
yeah paypal is garbage but its useful for added protection
Since 9 out of 10 times they side with the buyer
Seller scammed me, paypal wouldn't do anything after 5+ calls so i did a chargeback with my credit card company. They banned my account but i got my money back in the end so idc. Trash company
Was it a big money purchase?
Pp always bent over to please me but i never paid for more than 100$
Example that AMD just wanted a product to show off and isnt trying to compete in the high end market anyways
High end market cost a lot to compete in with Nvidia around
so after searching the net, I'm hoping to get some help with frame drop/stutter. I have a 2080ti on a decent system. I'm running gfx on higher settings and rtx on. I noticed with any overclock applied the frame drops is much worse, essentially freezing for almost a second then increasing from ~30fps back to a stable 70+. With the OC disabled, I still get the drops but not as long and less frequent. Is there any way to stop them completely without lessening the video settings?
You could underclock your GPU I guess, but I'd check that it is the GPU
Try a benchmark like 3dmark or heaven or something and see if that starts to cause jitters
What CPU do you have?
its the dx12 that sometimes stutters in bf v
not always
well we have battlefield and nvidia drivers update today, lets hope it fixes my issues
its certainly not in any other application. 3dmark etc all perform great with the overclock. I have an i9 9900k.
does anyone know a list of all available console.commands?
(including explanation) :>
The new nvidia cards (1xxx and newer) can downclock if voltage/thermal conditions are not optimal
even if you add OC
how do i fix glitch where it freezes every 10 seconds
RX580 8GB AMD Ryzen 32GB ram
windows 10
happens on low and high graphics
no other major background processes
oh sweet
yeah i'll have to look through this
i'm not sure i'll check when i get home
yeah good idea
i wonder if its DX12 by default
yeah im not
afaik dx12 works better on AMD cards
Looking for advice on motion blur Xbox one X and 60hz 4k tv
I turned it all down
but when I look back and forth, its still blurry, my tv sucks rite?
turn down turn of everything is best for visibility
if you turned off blur, and it still blurs, either game doesnt have a 0 setting, or your tv doesnt handle movement good
rtings says it has good input lag
there might be tv settings to turn down motion blur
Gonna check and make sure I put it on game mode
i know my previous tvs HAD to be in game mode to get less input lag
Game settings
For playing video games in SDR or HDR, via video game console or PC, simply turn on 'Game mode' from the 'Advanced picture settings' menu to have the best input lag possible.
@storm osprey thats what game mode is for? lolwtf i never knew
Urgh getting more and more frustrated with windows now.
Hey! My download in origin is super low... like 300-400kb and thats going worse
how can i fix that
?
its probably just gonna be like that today, since update just released
@covert heron what do you think of the two vs eachother?
ive had ath-m50 (still have them), ad700 (sold em) and beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250 ohm (current daily drivers)
tbh i like all 3 for different things
i havent tried the dt990 for gaming
the 700s are super light and comfortable and have a massive soundstage and are probably the best for competitive sound whoring
they are pretty light on bas though
bass*
and i didnt like listening to most music on them
pretty much exactly my feelings
the m50s are closed back and have really fat bass but not as god positioning
the 990s are like the best of both worlds
Ju88
not quite as spacious as the 700s and not quite as eye rattling bass as the m50s but covers both pretty well
they are much harder to drive than the ad700s or the m50s though
i always hear that the dt 990 are basically the best all arounders for the money
like they dont sound good plugged into on board audio, you need an amp or something that can drive better cans
are you using an amp for yours?
im currently using them with a schiit stack (magni 3 / modi 3)
i used ot use them with this x-fi titanium card from creative that could drive hadphones reasonably well but im really liking this schiit stack
i have soundcard for 700x at home for gaming
i also actually built a headphone amp for these too lol
yea? howd that turn out?
but i never got around to finishing a proper power supply and enclosure and my cat killed it by knocking a drink on it
it worked great though
one sec i think i have a pic of it somewhere
hah i definitely have pics of the cat but i think i got one of my amp
it was just a scuffed home-etched pcb prototype version i never got around to ordering real pcbs and stuff
and my enclosure was a repurposed ethernet switch box
hah yeah found it https://imgur.com/a/g1kvb
its so scuffed looking lol but it worked great
lol thats what matters
it was mostly just a build to learn how to etch pcbs by hand and i couldnt think of anything worth building besides an amp
700 kb/s on an 400mbit connection heyo
servers have been taking a shit all day
first 3gb started great
i think i peaked at 2mb during the entire thing
uh , i am up to 3 mb/s
since the update i can't access online featues anymore in BF V and it says my account is restricted..support can't help...meh
@storm osprey put mine on game mode. Will report back
good mmm gooooood
So.. Was playing hearthstone, game crashed and computer froze (exept for google chrome)... Rebooted the computer and now my 1tb HDD isn't being detected anymore... RIP the hard drive ?
Open that bad boi up, and run an industrial strength magnet over it
does it show up at all in device manager as an unknown device or in disk management at all?
or is it just gone?
Hmm. I have 6 unknown devices in device manager
@ocean valve search disc management in start and see if it shows up there
logitech software stinks - I had to remap keys on my corsair keyboard to allow me to set buttons on my new logitech mouse to be available for games
Logitech software is good if you have only their gear

I want my additional liquid cooling components and waterblocked 2080ti so I can build the thing and just look at it
not game, just look
o god a patriot ew
@flint locust yeah it doesnt show up
for some reasons it reappeared this morning in my drivers list :/ ... go figure
So, the infinite loading screen bug after EOR is still happening even after yesterday's patch
gj EA
@prime jasper Origin should have the ability to do so
Pls help
Im updating bfv from pc
3.92/4.38 GV
GB*
and its been 2 hours
it goes from 2mbps to 500kbps
very slow
usually it was 7 mbps very fast
just gonna be slow
@burnt zinc check that you have decent size left on HDD
The game stopped updating at 15.03%
I know I have the HDD space
when i click resume it does nothing but give me a Resuming status
servers are bad and cant handle traffic it seems
lol people complaining about 3 mbps
that's my normal download speed
it takes me 20-40 minutes for one GB
usually more
sometimes 1 hour
lul i download at 500kb/s when im in a good day
@prime jasper, there are 2 options really: steam mover or reinstall it onto the SSD
What audio settings are best to easen my ears now?
easen?
omg, i am again at 150 kb/s
guys, do you want to see my water cooling system? 😄
here is it 😄 https://i.imgur.com/NZ1fNZi.jpg
A, my picture, i've done it for discord peeps)
B, i know, i've done that pic just for fun, replaced cpu, an i7-3770 and cooler - zalman cnps5x
6,11 kb/s
that doesn't look healthy
that top channel tho
reduce memory overclock
all the anime girls
would it be a good idea to rma now or wait until the last year of warranty when they run out of RX 580 stock

id wait if you could
the artifacts were there for only 10 seconds
ive heard a bunch of stories of upgrading
what's weird is that games don't have artifacts at all but sometimes youtube and discord does
also called rma fraud
like once every few days and it stays for 10 seconds
Uh yeah when they ask you how long the problem has been going on for
and you say "8 months"
but the question is - will such intermittent failures be detected by RMA testing?
They are gonna be pissed and send you a refurbished card
P R O V E I T
Which is also against Discord ToS to talk about, so quit recommending it to people
is it fraud if theres a problem, they just waited
Lying about the details is fraud
You wait too long and you get a refurbished card
what if they dont lie...
I know someone who is up to 4 refurbished Titan X pascal due to waiting to RMA it, each one they get is broken
no one told them to lie
well i'd just omit details and at least nvidia cards usually offer lower tier new gen cards
but then i didnt buy bottom of barrel brands
idk what the questions are for for rma
the warranty and rma is different
I would RMA it now so you can get a functional GPU that is hopefully new before it actually becomes a problem
Im getting low fps after the new update. Plz help. Before update I use to get 70 - 90 fps. Now I'm getting around 40 - 50 fps
All same graphic s6
Setting
Alright, I finally have the Radeon VII FP64 performance matter sorted out with AMD.
Contrary to earlier statements, it is being throttled. Radeon VII's rate will be 1:8, versus Vega 20's native 1:2 rate. Notably, this is still twice the native FP64 rate of all other Vegas.
Two Vega cards will be cheaper
and perform about the same in fp64
what uses FP64
Steve and Buildzoid said that the Radeon VII will have similar performance to the titan V at FP64

also, it's impossible to make a Radeon VII with less than 16GB memory
now it beats out the RTX Titan
nope
Titan V is still the better server card
Because open air cards are terrible for server racks
RTX Titan gets around 5% higher gaming performance than the 2080 Ti I believe
maybe 10%
RTX Titan isn't advertised as a gaming card like most of the Titans anyways
If you buy it when you can buy two 2080ti then its on you
but I mean I know someone who bought a Titan V for benching
why do people bench
huge waste of money

as long as De8aurer exists, no one will beat him at benches
benching is just looking at numbers
der8auer rarely ever benches stuff and he isn't #1 in most of them anyway
yeah don't pick anything that you have to pay extra
hdamn
oh and with benching, the initial investment is pretty high but its not expensive to do
and if you do it with cheap older hardware its way more fun
A CPU or GPU pot for LN2 is like $200-300
LN2 / dry ice is pretty cheap once you get a dewar for LN2 (which can be fucking expensive even used)
but like a chiller, pump, and waterblocks isn't that expensive and can easily push records
Does anyone know how to turn on the frame rate counter in Battlefield V, my research is telling me that I need to download a program called Geforce experience 2.1 to enable a frame rate counter.
If youre lo0If no one can help you with a built in one I use MSI afterburner
settings in origin @calm inlet
GeForce Experience is worthless if you don't have a Nvidia GPU
I prefer a frametime graph over fps counter
To the shipping a defective item convo.
I bought a mobo, i9 9900k, and RAM combo from newegg, Mobo had a metal piece loose and no socket cover and the pins were all bent, and they gave me a Prepaid FedEx sticker and took 4 weeks to process it.
Good call, NewEgg has the longest customer service times I have ever experienced.
yeah I might buy from Amazon from now on
I wonder how they end up shipping a motherboard in the condition that yours was in like wtf lol
My replacement came from Amazon, they gave me a coupon for 15% off and they didn't send me a FUBAR mobo
Well I was pissed because I stripped my case the night before and put my old mobo, cpu, and RAM into my old case to give to my woman, so I was PC-less for the 2 days it took for the new one to arrive.
I hope PGA is the future for all motherboard sockets tbh, I've heard a lot of the pins getting bent on LGA boards
and they are impossible to bend back
You don't RMA through the retailor
Unless its DoA and that is their policy, generally the policy is to contact the manufacturer
Theyre slanted at a 45 degree angle and hooked so they are a pain in the ass to fix, the time isnt even worth it
but yeah no socket cover = refurbished part
Thats the thing, it was supposed to be new lmao
Don't forget the pins are super close together, brittle as hell, and impossible to get back to the perfect position
the pins look like baby shark teeth on LGA lol
I really like the straight pins on PGA CPUs, straight and easy to bend back
and if it breaks off, you can place it into the socket and it will still connect
I bent 3 pins on my old Fx-8350 because it fell off my table and landed on concrete floor lmao
but bent them back like it was nothing
You have to remember that power and ground pins + reserved pins aren't all required
So you can always get lucky
The pinout for Intel sockets is public
AMD has AM3 onwards under NDA for some reason
but people have got most of the pinout from motherboard stuff
@steep gust only issue with PGA is that people accidently rip out the CPU when taking off the cooler lol
which sometimes causes a pin to rip off
does anyone know the difference between these audio formats - acc, acc+ version 1, acc+ version 2?
looks like a 14 core i9-9990XE is coming out
with 5 GHz boost
on a single core

won't be sold by retailers though
is that the one they're auctioning
it's a highly binned 9940X
I wonder what intel's naming scheme will be after the 9000 series
last time they just restarted it with the i3/i5/i7 (and later i9) prefixes
1.312V for 5.1, I need like 1.34V for 5.0 on mine
damn
A 9900k that did 5.3ghz at 1.33v sold for $1800
Also AVX offset of -2 means its not 5.1ghz stable
well not for avx operations, it runs avx ops at 4.9ghz
it is stable for regular 100% cpu workload at 5.1 though
You realize a lot of stuff uses some AVX instructions? Not a full AVX load but a minor one. Then your CPU will bounce between 4.9 and 5.1
They also test with Prime95 IIRC
So an AVX load
umm, actually not a lot of things actually use avx, its a really specific type of workload
** Is this a good Setup?**
**GPU: Rx 580 Nitro+ 4GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
MOBO: B450 AORUS M
RAM: Corsair DDR4 8G 3000 Vengeance LPX Black
CASE: Corsair Carbide SPEC-04
PSU: thermaltake smart se 530W**
Depends what you wanna use it for bud
Maybe a little more ram if you want it to be better for the future
I will buy 1 more stick in future
but i don't have enough
so this what i get for now is it good?
I allready own the GPU and PSU but all other is what im going to get
Bad psu
why?
80+, no OVP or OTP
3 year warranty
My PSU had a 15 year warranty or something like that
530w is fine
530W is fine for your sys
I allready own this PSU the parts im getting is the ram mobo case and cpu
The actual PSU could be better
80+ ain’t amazing
and i own the graphics card
It's also like 7 years old
Single channel is going to hurt
I would try to save a little more and buy a cheap 2x8 kit (3000mhz cl16 is more than enough)
why single channel hurt?
Less bandwidth
you are buying a ryzen, the infinity fabric of the ryzen will be running at the clockspeed of your ram, so single channel will be 1500mhz
Yeah a 3000mhz kit is actually 1500mhz
It says "DDR4 8G 3000"
Due to how DDR4 works
wdym
yes, for dual channel
so can you recommend me some cheap ddr4 2x8gb ram
Big oof
for ryzen, the clockspeed matters more than cas latency
this costs 80$
because of the infinity fabric
Infinity fabric runs at the effective speed of your memory
Which is half of the rated speed due to DDR meaning "double data rate" and the effective clock being double the physical clock
should i just wait untill i get a bit more ram and than buy 2 of the ram i wanted
I want the best and cheapest ^
Especially if you plan to play BFV
So 2 of this "Corsair DDR4 8G 3000 Vengeance LPX Black " is good?
CL16 is good enough
It's not the cheapest
But it will be fine
Cheapest generally means black and red anyways
if you can compare 3000mhz CL16 vs 3000mhz CL17 I would bet you would not really notice difference with ryzen 2600
You would literally never notice the difference
Also you need the other primary timings not just the cas latency
so checking for little higher cas latency ram might be cheaper, but its like only few percents in the price anyway
And its decimals of a percent of real world performance
Can you find me some good cheap ram on this website ?
its in my country and it has the cheapest prices
A 50$ ram in usa is 80$ ram here 😦
I paid like $170 for a similar kit just over a year ago
It's not a bad price
Now that kit sits in my desk because RGB
this kit is 135$
lol
rgb
Now i need 81.35$
and i have enough for everything
Thank you so much
No problem
Also make sure to check the motherboard manual so you install the sticks is the optimal configuration when you have everything (and enable XMP!)
wdym
XMP is so your ram runs at the rated speeds and not JEDEC spec (2133mhz)
also your mobo might have 2 slots or 4, if it has 4 you need to use correct configuration to enable the dual channel
ie jam those sticks in correct holes
It should just be in the manual
Each motherboard is unique so make sure to check yourself
Most are the 2&4 slots but some are 1&3
easiest ram ever
1.65v
Do you understand anything in oc?
Yes but I know people who know leagues more than I do
I done oc to cpu but it made it very hot ( 100 celcius ) so i gave up on it but i want to oc my gpu
what cpu and cooler you have
I dont own an AMD GPU so dunno
I'm sure there are plenty of guides
i5 4690k and stock cooler ( ik the reason it gets hot bcs stock cooler is bad) but im not going to pay for better cooler since im upgrading soon but i can oc my gpu i just dont know how
guess there is some sort of tuner for amd as well
Nvidia has Pascal / Turing locked down and so you cant harm anything
While a stock BIOS RX580 shouldn't be able to harm itself, I would watch / read a guide
Afterburner isnt Nvidia exclusive
look
Afterburner is shit
it crashes my games each time
i gave up on afterburner
I have some Memory Frequency option
and Gpu
Afterburner is fine and used by the best of the best
If it crashes that means it's not stable
i play and play and than games just crash
I tried afterburner many times and for alot of time but it always crashes my games
I tried small overclocks
Also GPU overclocking isnt going to net you much performance on a basic rx580
I love losing signal
well
I tried oc'ng my 2080, only got like +65 and a friend got like +165, but, seems that the software he was using starts the from the factory oc already, and msi afterburner seems to add on top of the factory oc. His base boost was 1710, mine 1800
Because a 1080ti kingpin hits 2025mhz, and +75 would be a lot
While a stock 1080ti needs like +75 just to hit 2000mhz
well the kingpin 1080ti is already factory ocd
Heavily
ey
AMD cpu, AMD gpu. Not a fanboy, just found ‘em cheap lol
i need help buying a new mouse/keyboard and headphones for gaming
Budget?
but with an average price not too expensive
And are the headphones only for gaming?
nope its for my bro he uses it for ps4 and youtube and such
not hardcore gaming and stufd
Will he wear them in public?
idk how to really tell a budget cuz currency here is way different
nope
just something good that doesnt break too quick
cuz he has been suffering from headphones that only work on either right side or left
Well keyboard-wise I could never bring it upon myself to recommend a non-mech, so I’d suggest (if you can find it in your country) a magic force. It’s 60% but it’s real nice and relatively cheap (in England at least)
Think they’re made by a company along the lines of ‘qisan’
For headphones - I guess hyperXs? Unless they’re too expensive, I’m not really sure where you place a ‘middle’ budget
Razer deathadder chroma best mouse in the world
I love it so much
Headphones Razer or hyperx
I’ve started to like razer products less and less, I lik my Corsair mouse
Good price, reliable, nothing flashy
G403 ❤
ew
superlux headphones, with minimic mic for a headset (i suggest a pad swap), theres a shit ton of mice to recommend, that gets complicated. for a keyboard i recommend getting a switch tester and seeing whats REALLY out there. Theres like 100+ "cherry style" switches out there that range from linear silents at 35g to extra crisp loud clicky that weigh 100g.
Browns or nothing for productivity and gaming IMO
logitech g502
good and reliable
been hitting flicks since bought that piece of gold
as keyboard i use razer deathstalker chroma v2, its a silenced mechanic keyboard, good if you have a young kid or a sleeping gf lol 😄
there are varying levels of browns, i have aliaz 50g which have the bump of a brown, but are near completey silent. g502 is a workhorse mouse, but if youre doing fps gaming i suggest g403, g pro, finalmouse ultralight, g703, g302, death adder, or some others depending on budget
Corsair harpoon on a budget IMO
on budget either g pro (its 30 bucks) if you have smalll hands, if you have bigger id say hyper x fps
Harpoon is £20 on amazon ATM
if gpro isnt on sale, the g203 is the same mouse with a different sensor that is SLIGHTLY worse, like gpro sensor is 3366 and is 99%, the hero sensor in a g203 is a 90%
@storm osprey do you use a slidy mat or a rough mat?
for me the hyper x fps is cheaper than the harpoon
i always use cloth
but varying levels of smoothness
For me it’s over double the price
I have a nice big cloth mat, can’t deal with slidy mats but I have the utmost respect for those who do use one
HyperX Alloy FPS with blue switches 👌
the sensor in the hyper x fps is better than the corsair
ehh, i didnt notice a difference in performance when using smooth vs rough pads
I’d assume so, and if it’s less in (I’m assuming you’re in America) your country that’s better for sure, but here it’s £50 vs £20 for ten Corsair
yea, bad thing about product recommending over the internet lol
The* not ten
For a headset, the Logitech G430 are very uncomfortable and I regret buying them
I love my headphones, and I know hyperxs are comfy too, or at least, my friend thinks they’re comfy
the only "gaming headsets" i would recommend are hyper x and sennheiser pc37x
if youre on a budget, theres other options, but typically id get headphones and a separate mic
hell superlux and a minimic will run you 75 buck

<insert michael scott "no no no" meme here>
I'll post it here cause it kinda fits - does anyone know what's causing (and how to fix) this weird lack of customisation menu brightness thing?( https://imgur.com/a/4eAcZMR ) ? It only started happening recently and it's hella annoying
link dont work
I'll edit that
gotta remove )?
I haven't changed config settings I don't think
try validating, beyond that, reinstall, other than that, i wouldnt know
i got a similar issue after i changed some settings in a config, hence my question 😃
Ahh
could be different for u tho obviously
Reinstalling to a different drive didn't fix the major annoying bug I had/have which is fun

just from reading that, the test doesnt sound legit
yeah they only tested with 1700 random people from all 3 platforms lol
not evenly split
how was tested conducted?
everyone on mouse?
are the pc gamers playing games that require aim?
pc was faster to react, and at 70% vs 78% accuracy wouldnt that mean the pc player would win?
accuracy being the only measure that this test is seemingly based on is dumb
i could take 1 second to react and get a better accuracy by 8% or i could react in .35 seconds
that test doesnt make sense anyway
since why would it matter for a console gamer how well they can use a mouse to click on a target
thats the test btw
I know xbox players are typically better than ps4 players
since ps4 is more focused on single player games while xbox has 90% of its playerbase on multiplatform online games
got 93%
Triple a title and i cant even play for more than 3 rounds because the game crashes to desktop. This is a bloody joke
contact support
They tell me they cant help and direct me to microsoft.
im not invested enough to figure out why they would say that
if youre game doesnt work, you can prove it, keep at it with them
Ea help is useless, don't waste your time there
Try to find out on the web, maybe the BF forums if anyone is having the same problem
what the fuck
Pls no
if that happened, there would be no more innovation
Plenty of innovation in the cpu market, just not x86
intel buying amd might mean proper innovation in high end gpu market
though maybe raja is finally putting something on the market from intel
what up nick!
hell will freeze before intel is able to acquire amd
EU and china would smack them hard
U.S might do same but never know with current administrtation
the EU prevents companies from doing anything obnoxiously anti-consumer or anti-competitive
Intel got fined $1.45 billion by the EU in 2009 for bribing retailers to sell only Intel products

Good thing we’re leaving then innit :/
@latent light Intel cant afford to buy AMD

I doubt she would jump ship anyway
market cap for AMD is $11.6B
And monopoly laws would strike down Intel buying AMD insanely fast
yeah EU would probably fine Intel
It would straight up be blocked
would be blocked harder than Dikembe Mutombo
Intel got all their worth from the server market I think
wonder which companies are going to invest in the 64 core single socket Epyc CPUs in Q2
also wondering if that Epyc CPU can be paired with another on the same board
The Rome Eypc CPUs will support dual socket IIRC
you hear the 9990XE rumors
14 cores 4 GHz base clock and 5 GHz boost single core
a high binned 9940X

doesn't make sense though
$$$
That sounds like an amazing CPU to bench but its a shame it'll be >$2000 per
I don't think I will ever need a CPU that insane
and in 5 years time it will be worth 300 dollars lol
yeah but innovation at that time was trash
Hell the 980x (came out 9 years ago for $1000) is still $100
only since 2017 we are seeing significantly better performance per generation
An extremely rare CPU like the 9990XE will be a collectors item, and a hardcore overclocker item and will be for years
How many 14c CPUs exist? Most people didn't bother with the 7940x and just went for a 7980XE, so a lot of the records aren't very hardcore
so im thinking very few of them will be made
Now add an extreme binned and someone is gonna get one just for LN2
inb4 coldbugs at -50C

intel is best at LN2
14nm Intel doesn't have very much leakage and scales pretty well with voltage
which is why LN2 is so popular on it
Also because LN2 be cheap af
$2 a gallon or so
but like you need a dewar and those cost hundreds of dollars used for a 25L
Probably not because
locked CPU
locked chipset
locked motherboard
people have unlocked that stuff before though
My sources have told me that Navi will launch in TWO phases. The first set of cards will launch in JULY, with a performance target to the low to mid range of...
all aboard the rumor train
🚅
whats the differnce between the ryzen 7 1700 and the 1800x when you overclock the 1700?
1800X can probably overclock 200 MHz higher stable
1800X max overclock is 4.1 GHz if you're lucky
1700 is 3.9 if you're lucky
ahh okay!! 😛 so not worth the price differnce
not really
ah okay xD awesome 😛 i currently have a 1700 and looking for an upgrade
1700 has a decent stock cooler
ayeee :DD ive run realbench for 30 mins all good and now doing aida64 what else should i do xd
only upgrade for your socket would be a 2700X
why not 2700? and would 3rd gen work for me
awesome! 😄 might go for the 16 core r7
lol the stock cooler for the 2700X allows it to hit 4.2 GHz without throttling
i aint gonna use a stock cooler when i have a noctua nh d15 thats better than some water xd
yeah that's the most effective air cooler I can think of
yeah!! 😄 ive had it since 2016 xd
i do video production i do video editing with adobe as a career xd
hmm
Ryzen 7 3rd gen is rumored to have 12 cores
and there will be a Ryzen 9 lineup with 16 cores
ahhh okay! 😛 hmmm 3rd gen would only increase my gaming performance really... so maybe its just easier to stick with the 1700 unless it goes on sale for a good price
ryzen 9 wont support b350 tomahawk i dont think xd
maybe at stock frequency lol
40 mins aida64 30 mins realbench is this a stable OC?
true XD ill stick with my 1700 xd
although, Ryzen 5 might take the Ryzen 7 place due to belief of Ryzen 5 having 8 cores in the 3rd gen
ahhh okay fair enough!! :DDD well the 1700 is super good as it is 😄 i can stream at x264 medium and edit 4k footage in a breeze 😃
so we could see a $200 8 core CPU that overclocks to 4.5+ GHz easily
jesus !! :OO i want it but i dont think it will be worth it xd
lol
its just leaks atm tbh xd i would never go lower than 8 cores
8 cores is good for future proofing
I think current 8 core CPUs will run games fine all the way to 2025
and maybe to 2030 lmao
damnnnn!!! :OOO thats insane xd its just gpus we have to worry about xd
very true unless you get a 2080ti xD
i have a GTX 1080 😛 got it for 300 pounds on ebay
I'm thinking about getting a used card some day
I feel safe buying used now ever since I got a faulty card from newegg
XD rip you 😮
yeah faulty rx 580
still using it right now, it gets artifacts occasionally on youtube and discord
but none in games
oh wow xd downclock while in desktop and then normal when gaming? 😛
also why diddnt you refund
580 is a good card
can it do 144hz on bf5?
nvidia have freesync now xd
12/450 monitors supported lol
thats very true actually xDD i was gonna get a vega 64 but GTX 1080 is better performance and was 80 pounds cheaper
probably can find them cheap used
Vega 64 and GTX 1080 are equal
unless games have terrible optimization
thats in 1 game tho xd
and remember @latent light the GTX 1080 was 70 pounds cheaper so thats 90.83 dollars
it wins in Battlefield V, Black Ops 4, Forza Horizon 4, PUBG (surprisingly), and R6 Siege
userbenchmark fps isn't a good test
it includes everyone that's tested with overclocks and underclocks
well would you rather get a 1080 and save 90 dollars or get a vega 64 and pay 90 dollars more 😛
with worse fans
it had the blower style single fan?
oof
I put my RX 580 target temperature to 80C from 75C because they more heat you keep away from the card, the more heat that gets transferred to the room you're in
if I set my fan speed higher to blow away more heat, my room gets hot
ahhh xDD my card never goes past 65 with 100 on core 500 mem
which 1080 do you have
lol
my card is really quiet, I hear the case fans over it because my target temp makes the fan speed stay under 50%
if I put the fans at 70% or higher, temp stays under 70C
Gigabyte RX 580 8GB
got it for $200 new back in august
nice! 😄 you use after burner?
came with Resident Evil 2 remake and Devil May Cry 5 (could of chosen the Division 2 but the first one sucked so I think the 2nd one won't be anything special)
AMD software has overclocking tool
tbh, should only use WattMan in the Radeon software to overclock because it has no limits lol

Does anyone know a good free program for applying watermarks easily on pictures?
I bought a gtx 1070 for 240€
Used but the guy didnt even use it
Only for video rendering
So its like brand new
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=THaMlkNDzYs
The beauty of an air cooling-fuck icx, fuck strix, fuck lightning, for hybrid evga when you can get this 😂😂👌
Air cool gang
inb4 a 30-50 usd 120mm/140mm aio matches that
@minor turret but performs worse than this air one.
