you got G-sync though so it still will look smooth anyway
it got the fps thing in the croner
Still a fucking good card
worth every penny i got it for
tbh not worth $1,200+ considering it's $500 more than a 1080 Ti was on launch for around 30% more performance
kind of a lousy generation
DLSS is the most impressive thing
but that's just upscaling
But if you never payed that ๐
idk man, USA gets the cheapest deals on tech
only 2000 usd here
@latent light I already have 32:9 144hz monitor
its 144
oh I guess the only difference is that the ASUS one is 1440p
gl getting 144fps on "5k" monitor
lol
because it has nearly same amount of pixels as 16:9 5k
I rather have the 49" by samsung than from ASUS. The one from asus is probably gonna cost 1500 and my PC wouldn't be able to handle a "5k" monitor.

imagine paying so much extra just get a 2.8ms difference
that was me speaking out my ass is there even tv there is 1000 hz ?
no
Typically anything past 160hz just comes down to if you can see it because it's not very noticeable
yea that's what i thought
60hz is 16.67ms between each frame, 144hz is 7ms between each frame, 165hz is like 6ms, 240hz is 4ms
tbh over 120hz is hardly noticeable
racing games are easy to distinguish
any fast paced game
Remember that a lot of it boils down to the individual panel too. 144hz can be frivolous if the panel itself doesn't like updating that quickly
drive 200 mph in a racing game on a 144hz monitor then try a 240hz
will be easy to see
๐ฆ
I was surprised to see the difference between 60hz and 75hz
it was actually a decent jump
It's like night and day right?
i hate my self for never going 144hz for my 1080p
Indeed
it was like havning sex first time
Aiming feels so floaty on my old 60hz panel
I hate playing at 60hz without V-sync
i can never go back to 60hz
like if I'm at 100 fps but I'm on a 60hz monitor, there will be tearing and the frametimes are jittery
V-sync on and the frames are consistent
its should be illegel to sell 60hz mointors
vsyc... ew

you monster
@mortal nacelle not everyone has the GPU to drive 144
only ~10% of gamers own a monitor that has over 60hz
i am actually thinking of getting 240hz 1080p gaming monitor
and have my 49" above it
with a wall mount
useful for meeting rooms, but not much else
lol nvidia freesync validation requires it to be available by default
hence why like 12/200 monitors pass
going into OSD and manually flicking it on
= does not pass
12/450*
That's shitty
manually doing it yourself
what are you updating?
drivers, just wanting to see if any need updating
i wouldnt trust a single program to do that
i would personally manually search for driver updates
cool thankyou
NEXT LEVEL RGB
just placed order for additional radiator and other watercooling supplies, 2080ti with waterblock and define s2
wtf
yes?

did you get aliaz switches?1
yes but I just want something fast and easy
you could do GMMK and just clip the plastic
could just get a responsive membrane for a lot less money
inb4 "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I got a cherry brown keyboard free with my GPU
@lofty light trash
no u
browns are my choice, i like tactile, cant do clicky for obvious reasons
WOOT! Samsung QVO SSD's are finally coming out
Now I can suggest SSD's as the full storage for peeps whilst still being budget
It's their new fabrication type that is much cheaper to make larger sizes but they're slightly slower and shorter lived
But you can get a 4TB SSD now for $800 AUD ๐
๐
Hey whats up guys
I just bought a new pc and built it myself
When i get in the Bios ot tells me that everything is ok (temp, cpu, ram, sata ports, ram...
But when im going to install windows it doesnt detect my ssd or my hdd
I don't know why
Can someone help me out plz??
@prime jasper if your SSd,HDD are properly connected in the wrigth slot , check also cables from PSU also from motherboard
try using motherboard s manual
Ive cheked that already
I dont know why thats happening
Cause the bios detects the drives
setup in bios boot device order if is UEFI
you have only HDD ,not also SSD?
Both
check motherboard manual for correct connection win RAID or whatever they say
Ok
i suggest instal windows on SSDD
Thats the main idea
and connect on first slot on motherboard also select in bios to boot this device
if already have installed windows
Ok
yes if have windows on a usb memory stick
order in bios is USBB 2nd from ssd
and3rd from hdd
ALT+F10 and you shopuld be able to install windows
Ok thanks
welcome
Need suggestions on Graphics cards(Nvidia).
I currently have a gtx 1060 3Gb- obvs needing more memory. But while Iโm gonna upgrade it, which one should I go to? And howโs the best way to acquire it? Please dm me or Ping me if you have any advice. Much appreciated.
Has anyone used the Alienware Elite gaming mouse?
I use a Razer Ornata which is a membrane also
Yeah?
I used to have a deathadder, great mouse
currently using the logitech g pro (overpriced af but got it free)
its nice as well
This is the other shelf.
I've got an i7 4970K 4.0 GHz and GTX 970. How reasonable is it to upgrade the gfx card to something else than the newest series? I mean in terms of not getting much out of the upgrade otherwise
I have 2 deathadders that I dont use right now. Switched to a Razer Basilisk a few months ago
I like mice with a smooth and round design, fits into the palm
I tried a logitech G502 and it had little gaps in the chassis that felt odd
ew mine doesn't have that, its round the whole way through
@latent light Yeah, was looking at that, thinking I also want something with a more unified design.
yeah I like roundness
I was looking at the 502 to give it a try at one point when it was on sale. But given I have 2 other razer accessories didnt want to run another program for just a mouse
I never used the razer software when i had that mouse
I'm going to have to run 2 different versions of razer synapse, sadly
2.0 and 3.0 lol
And I am not crazy about a mouse with 50 buttons on it
Anymore more than 10 is too much
mine you can remove buttons on the side
Well, at this time this is my selection.
Looking at that Wireless G602
But still a bit chunky
A friend of mine has the 602 I believe, he likes it
I don't understand the hype of mechanical keyboards
Don't want an obnoxiously loud clicky keyboard that can be heard throughout the house and wake a baby up
Same ^
Could go for some dead silent Mechanical tactile switches like Aliaz Silent but those would cost like $70 for a full size keyboard
and finding a compatible keyboard for those switches is pretty hard
Im looking to get a blackwidow because I want a tenkeyless keyboard. Id be getting the orange switches so noise isnt much of an issue.
I donโt see the g pro here
That Alienware seems pretty solid
They have a G Pro wired headset
But not the mouse
Yeah, this is a different kind of store ๐
Hey, anyone in here had issues where BF1 does not recognize the native resolution?
My monitor and everything is set up for 1440p at 144hz, BF1 is only displaying 1080p 144hz
Hi guys
How much empty space should I leave on my ssd for a nice gaming performance?
Now there is only 20 GB emtpy space
once a week, I get the artifacts on youtube, they are green dots that cover most of the screen for like 10 seconds

@latent light rip Vmem on your gpu
I don't get artifacts ever in games though
just disable hardware acceleration from your browser
@icy mist IIRC 15% of your SSD should be empty
I've dedicated my SSD to star citizen, makes a large difference on that game
You dont need an entire SSD for one game
my gtx 780 had random glitches like you @latent light, didnt even start with games
before it utterly shat itself
and wouldnt accept drivers without weird artifacts
You do if that game will be well over 100 gig minimum at launch
20% free space gives an SSD quite a long lifespan of 5+ years
10% gives roughly 2-3 years on average
then again, some people have an SSD filled up for years
my intel 330 180gb has been system drive for like 7 years
still like 99% lifespan according to intel sensors
Wow.
How does used capacity affect lifespan?
SSDs have limited program/erase or P/E cycles. In this video I discuss the life expectancy of SLC, eMLC, MLC and TLC drives, as well as covering wear levelli...
timestamped
tells you everything
https://imgur.com/a/7XVNzPD
Can anyone pinpoint where exactly the issue lies when the ISP said that there's no issue on their line and BFV is the only game with those issues?
I can't pinpoint the damn exact issue anymore
@steep gust so, my friend managed to snap the AM4 socket in half

I hope no one has a 1050 Ti right now
you can find an RX 570 for cheaper and get 40% more performance
I have one, it's been a workhorse.
@latent light He broke the retention not the socket itself
and it doesn't really mean anything but a plastic retention is cheap af
my motherboard has like black nickel plated retention arms
it looks fucking cool and is a waste
noticed yesterday that der8auer has OC frame for 9900k for direct die cooling
so basically delidding, swapping the cpu frame and then applying liquid metal directly on top of the die
I thought about direct die
How sensitive is the die
but like delid + copper ihs is more than enough for Coffeelake
silicon is fucking hard

To be fair, heatsinks nowadays are ginormous compared to the old days
processors didn't pull much power back then before 1 GHz processors
Just tested
18% gain in Cinebench going from entirely stock settings to my overclock profile (XMP, cache, and 5.0ghz) for my 8600k
Anyone anymore ideas, really getting pissed off with this constant game crashing thing now
AMD doesn't even care about competing in the high end graphic cards market because even if they had the best card, people would still buy nvidia

fact
even Buildzoid agrees with that
even if AMD gets something that performs close to the higher end technologies, intel/nvidia would cut prices by a bit to make it seem more appealing
I think even Der8aurer said that in a video too
thus btfoing out of amd
I mean the Radeon VII spec sheet is similar to the Mi50 but like AMD is gonna pull an Nvidia and cut its compute power
as to not step on its $10,000 (or something like that) workstation stuff
i mean, this is still vega architecture, volta at the end of the year could bring nice things
Volta oh my god
We have two GPUs on Volta and nothing else mentioned since
Turing got everything Volta got and was not just $3000+ workstation cards
the radeon 7 will compete against the Titan V in compute and the RTX 2080 in gaming

Well that's supposedly
Using AMDs own testing which I wouldn't trust at this point
Yeah tbh they don't seem to want to focus on gaming with that amount of VRAM
Especially HBM2
I mean if it competes with the titan v at that price
but it's overkill
and lacks rtx tech vs the 2080
doesn't the Vega 64 beat the RTX 2080 Ti in compute?
HBM2 is incredibly expensive so adding more means they can't drop the price
I thought they showed the Vega 64 could raytrace better than a 2080ti when modded?
I just remember hearing that as it's hilarious
I mean there is a chance that Radeon can utilize ray tracing better
I find it funny how Intel and Apple never got along very well
I guess 2 price gouging companies can never get along
AMD sells their GPUs to Apple with small profit margin
Nvidia would never do that

Apple stopped using Intel CPUs and are now making their own for Macs
I guess they couldn't make a fair ground with each other
I'm quite intrigued tbh
Well it may just be that apple have gotten to the point with their CPUs that they feel they can finally cut Intel out
Next will be amd I assume
100% apple products that can't be user repaired
Tbh though I have the most recent MacBook Pro for work so I can't really say much about apple
Vega 64 doesn't have the drivers to ray trace
and vendor benchmarks are worthless
They used stuff that heavily favored AMD
and the lack of 1% and 0.1% for FPS benchmarks makes them useless
but yeah if they went with 12GB of HBM2 or GDDR6 and lowered prices it would be amazing
but when you think that 16GB of HBM2 is like $250-300
then big oof
help help
plz
my game isnt working
jk
my real problem is
on fortnite when i change my resolution it shows it's changed but the actual resolution stays at 1080p when it clearly says 1440p it's not scaling when it should be if can help me @ me
also it's in fullscreen
Change resolution scaling?
resolution scaling?
Buildzoid stated that the R&D for the new Vega card to have GDDR6 would be stupid expensive
also Vega chips are designed specifically for HBM2
HBM2 can reach 1 TB/s bandwidth speed, GDDR6 can't
still need help
bandwidth isn't the marker for performance
and maybe moving to GDDR6 would be a logical move
memory bandwidth helps with FP64 compute
huh
Google dude we aren't tech support
tbh AMD could sell the Radeon VII as a workstation card for $1,000 and it would be ok
considering it can compete with a Titan V at compute
they haven't announced Navi yet because they still want to sell Polaris stock
pretty sure Navi announcement would of made RX 570/580/590 sales plummet by 90% or more
You could use them with multi GPU support I guess
But good luck finding anything that supports that
can't you have two GPUs in a system without SLI/crossfire
like have them hooked up to different monitors
and do different things
yes
You've got the DX12 multi GPU support that can use multiple GPUs of any model/brand together
I don't think it's series restricted either
wait even pair nvidia and AMD together?
no

ree
that'd be lit though
but I was thinking of putting in my old 970
to support a different monitor
DX12 is the future, mainly for multi-core CPU optimization
You can have NVIDIA and AMD together with MGS
Intel and AMD have made products together plenty of times
But nothing other than some benchmarks support it that I know of
Sorry meant the GPU manufacturers
I figured you can't have AMD and Nvidia drivers on the same system though
No idea how it works tbh
@untold geode were you wanting to get another 1050 and pair it with one you already have?
yess
you can get a RX 570 for around the same price as a 1050 and it will get around 40% higher performance
on a game like fortnite it will only be like 20% though
bro im only 13

because Unreal Engine
Well you can't get two 1050s is the easiest way then
unreal engine has been getting better optimization on AMD cards recently
on youtube people kept using sli with 1050s
and it's getting lit
You'll have to sell your one and get a better card if you want better perf
so im guessing they used psu
Also sli is BAD anyway
I'm hoping on seeing something from amd soon
You can do 1050ti SLI over PCIe
I wanna upgrade my gpu
yeah sli support for games in recent years has been pretty garbage

I'd only ever get one card nowadays
i only have games that support like gta
GTAV still has crap sli support
yeah it does
yeah only sniper elite 4 has good SLI support
I used to play with sli 970s and it was basically no difference
Jolly, do you have the 1050 or the 1050 Ti?
theres a feature on nvida control pannel that always you to use it on any game
1050
sli gains are not that great
oof
compared to price, performance, and power consumption
my dad desont wnat tob uya new gpu he wants to wait after he gets back from deployment to buya new pc
prebuilts
o iw ant to
I wonder if the 30xx series will be announced this year
usually prebuilt is a good option especially for a 13 year old
pls be
but he buys a2 gaming laptops
Get a Walmart pre-built

nah, they fixed a lot of the complaints
like single channel memory and the pricing
I heard they got pulled
I dunno, those cases looked great for cooling
im fine with my 1050 i get 60fps on gtav on 1080p
Three front intake fans with a 100% sealed front ๐

Derikk is big brain
I wish I could be a big brain like the tech peeps at Walmart
time to make everyone big angery
fortnite runs at 90 fps with high settings with texture s on low with shaodws on medium
i bought a membrane keyboard from razer

@latent light what games can my gpu run at max settings
it has RGB though
Oh god

RGB means higher fps
membrane
Razer
stop
just waiting for a answer

I feel like my 1070 is gonna die
What's your CPU @untold geode
you probably will have trouble with Battlefield V even at low settings
reduce overclock
nuu
@lofty light amd phenom ii x4 910
its not like you can kill a Pascal GPU with an overclock
reduce memory overclock
Reformat
I like my +50 hz
im about to overclock it
but it might not have ever been stable
Oooooof
Yup
can we get an F

F
xd im goign to ovclock it to 3.0 ghz
You're gonna start a fire there
how to kill your cpu
overclocking a CPU like that wont do much tbh
it makes the speed faster
doesn't matter though
christ
won't even see 5% gains
"it hte makes teh sped faster :d"
most unlocked Intel CPUs see only like 5-7% higher performance from a overclock
but a Phenom II....
maybe 3%
FX-4100 beats phenom II
i searche dit up it says atleast 4.4ghz

Oh god
ah
Look mate, I have a spare i3 4130, just use that instead of starting a house fire
@untold geode I think you need more of a CPU upgrade, not graphics card

Tech Jesus is crying
my power supply is reall good

peace to runescape
how do i overcllock

thats not helping

Just follow this video @untold geode

^
The hotter is is the faster it goes
Make sure to put in a lot of power into your cpu
im only increasing it too 2.8 or 3
what is the current speed?
2.6

idk how

Just chuck the multiplier up
have to open pc and crank start it until the pistons start
It's at 100 by default, if you chuck it to 120 you get a flat 20% perf boost
Exactly!
so ummm can you make this asier
yes
You don't need thermal paste
Bare contact is enough
But if you reeeeeeally want something you can use toothpaste
i ahve a hp elite pavilion e9120f
His PC looks like this @latent light

whats the motherbaord
It's custom I bet
yeah the original comes with a GeForce 9100
Yup
not bad for 2009
Motherboard would be a custom HP one @untold geode
yeah no overclocking on that
Because it's a pre-built

can't you take a PC to a hardware shop and they will build it for you for like $50-100
What?
Hey I'm 23
Basically your CPU is woefully inadequate for most games especially battlefield
i use my dads omen for battlefield
And you can't overclock with the current setup you have
So I'd recommend getting a new build when you can from a local tech store
nah it runs bfv at high 70

Instead of a store like Walmart
my $600 build runs BFV at ultra 80-90 fps average
probably lmao

im buying a skytech gaming arch angel
Because tech stores always use actual brand name parts
Do you have a link?
wait nvm my build is more like $700
gtx 1050 ti ryzen 3 1200 3.1 oc to 4.0 1tb ssd, 8 gb ddr4
my current build is like
because that is hot shit
Ooof
no
lmao
My computer is fast
That is low end
My GPU almost costs as much as that entire system
I got a Ryzen 5 1600, 16GB DDR4 3000 MHz, RX 580 8GB, 250GB NVMe SSD, 1TB HDD, Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 all for $700
bc im not greedy for fps
My GPU cost 2.5 times that system
@lofty light idc care about your money bc you have enough to buy that
@lime pollen wa stalking about my dads omen
Basically that computer is very old tech for the most part
yeah the Phenom II X4 910
i only use this for csgo and bf4

i use my dads omen for bfv bf1 snipe rghost warrior 3 and farcry 5
Still, I wouldn't spend money on hardware that is kinda bad to start with
I'd go with like a low end ryzen build if I needed to cut costs
You could even go an APU build for dirt cheap
stop changing the subject

I ain't
ik
i dont play intense games so im fine with it
wait I thought you had a Phenom II
2070 Ti
Don't waste money on hardware "because I don't play demanding games"
but i chnage dit to skytech
l m a o

Not yet
Probably never
well rtx 2070
2070 is pretty much what the 1070ti was
Ugly ass case
lol
no not yet
That's what's he's looking to buy
Which is why I'm saying don't
i can find you a better prebuilt than that
As it's not really an upgrade
yeah it's not an upgrade at all
And a lot of money for a sidegrade
dad plans to buy expensive PC
No don't buy it, buy some low end rig for some demanding games
story is bullshit
BF4 is not a low end game
let me fix some of that

i asked my dad for a new pc when he gets back form deployment > he said sure after bills i show him 3 pcs archangle then one has a 1060 i5 another had 1070 i7 > he didnt care about the price juts specs he said any but i chose archangel bc i dont play demanding game
tbh I been thinking of doing an emulator build for cheap, but I'll wait for the next raspberry pi

i got witcher 3 game of the year edition for $20
*show

i got it for 18
I didn't pay for it but shh

Ran pretty well at 4k tbh
@steep gust your story was incorrect
Mostly accurate enough to the point I was making
Witcher 3 is freaking awesome
Which was you are buying a cheaper rig because you don't play demanding games
yet what happens if you get BFV?
a new monitor?
Did a magic focus build and it broke the game
you didnt say that
literally any new games in the next few years
BetrayedPredatorToday at 8:06 PM
dad plans to buy expensive PC
No don't buy it, buy some low end rig for some demanding games
story is bullshit(edited)
4GB doesn't make much difference
no go fam
i have bfv on my dads omen
can't find a prebuilt better than that though

I might do a custom loop this year
since I was ridiculed last time
but man my planned custom loop doesn't really work in parts
custom loop sounds lit
Can't just buy the CPU portion then add a GPU
are you going to get a new cpu?
also I want a new GPU if I am going to add a $150 waterblock
Maybe
I mean LGA1151 (the mounting) isn't going away
I'm waiting til around april to june for Ryzen 3rd gen
oh I'm not switching motherboards
heres one pc i wa slooking at
If like the 9700k falls to a reasonable price
Maybe I would buy one
Just get a pure APU build tbh
yikes
Not for $850
my RX 580 4GB and ryzen 5 2400G build I linked was $250 cheaper than that
cpu and gpu could do better

the one my da dliked
Man I don't think he is going to listen to us
It's cyberpower so it's the name you're buying
either you at least understand that we're trying to help you
or just listen to your dad
$1500
and his potential 2070 ti build

my da dliked that one
Its his money
I hate where the rad is located
let him buy it then and it won't struggle with games

I hate 120mm rads
You have literally like
-5C OC headroom will an 8700k on a 120mm rad
and a like 25mm rad
not an extra thicc 120mm rad
FX in 2019
XD
yeah that's a yikes from me fam
That CPU is literally $30-40
BetrayedPredatorToday at 8:06 PM

No don't buy it, buy some low end rig for some demanding games
story is bullshit(edited)
shoot worng thing
sorry
only get Ryzen or Intel, stay away from FX CPUs
@atomic atlas no u
no
that was another one

it says i7 on my phone
Man I should go into PC building
It has an 1800X
That kind of profit margin would be hella sweet
With a 480
@steep gust literally this
price for this one is good for what you get
once I gain more experience
oh i wa slloking at the wrong one
I mean if they are selling FX CPU sysytems for $800
just look at the pretty lights and numbers and buy the pc
I can do a full build with an Fx-8350 for under $400 probably
Radeon 7
I can do that with "Top of the line 5.0ghz CPU" for ez $1200
but its gonna be that shit FX CPU

Just get a snoblind case

that is something you cant deny
german engineering
no
taht price tho
hell no
You can do much better for $2300
They bought that 1080ti at OEM price so if you wanna give them nice profit buy that one
i like the red tower
You can easily change cases
iBUYPOWER showed off a rotating case with LCD side panels for CES 2019, alongside an updated Revolt 3 modular mini-ITX case. Ad: Buy DeepCool's Captain 240PR...
Get one of those rotating builds
Adding a different GPU cost a lot more
Betrayed explains what's wrong with the build to price
With 4 LCD panels
RGB > red
I mean at 13 the case probably looks good
but it screams gamer and looks tacky
Did anything interesting happen at CES this year
Fractal Design cases ๐ฉ ๐ฆ
Nothing really
besides the new HDD changes
DLSS is now out
๐คท
AMD keynote that was "just wait"
New Nvidia designed laptops
HAMR HDD tech has been around for awhile now
@atomic atlas just look at the GN coverage
the new case that Razer created was interesting
I WANT THAT ULTRAWIDE 1440p 200hz HDR GSYNC ONE
the Hawk-something
Tech Jesus gives you the CES news you need
will probably be next month or March before we get actual product reveals from AMD tbh @steep gust
I hope amd releases some good stuff soon
@untold geode ๐คฆ
Its gonna be like $4000 tho @lofty light
@steep gust idc aslong a si get good preforamnc eont he games i play im fine with it
So wait a generation and then buy one
I got an X34P instead, same thing but 120Hz and no HDR
Then buy the 2070 / 8700k and get good performance
I can max out BF4's engine on an overclocked 8600k / 1080, which is better than that at stock
ik but it's worth it
its 66 fps lock
CSGO is why the 240Hz monitors exist

3840x2160 is 80fps lock
Man I have someone losing their mind over HDR which is why I will probably end up buying an HDR panel in a different server
just because those colors
as long as its proper HDR
I'm happy with IPS for now
turn up your color saetting sin nvidia control pannel boom

get the g pro its nice
