TV?
it not hard to make the point of how mest up bomber are
and they spent a bunch time telling us theyd fix them
and did they really do anything to how easymode they are
Ur in #technology sir
Although I guess bombers are tech π€·
@latent light free sync is free and software
Gsync is a module that cost like $200
Gsync with HDR support is like $500
@latent light GDDR5 is old, which helps with the price
GDDR5X does cost more, but it's just a revision
GDDR6 is new tech produced on new production nodes (IIRC) which doesn't help prices
Like Samsung's top of the line DDR5 will cost a fortune when it comes out
Since it will most likely being on their 7nm EUV node that is new tech
Why
cuz ddr3 is cheaper and better for budget builds
Ddr4 isnt even that expensive...
Also ECC DDR3 is cheap, high end DDR3 kits compete with DDR4
Literally my ram was probably the cheapest part of my build
Aside from maybe case or hard drive
I bought a decent 16GB kit for $140
Yeah
3000mhz CL16 is like $100 for 2x8
Tbh the non rgb was only $20 cheaper
So meh
I spent the $20 for rgb but if u wanna really be frugal then yeah no rgb
IMc?
integrated memory controller
oof
DDR3 runs at much higher voltages than DDR4
Ah
i said they should make
No u
not use
nah
Um
no reason to go backwards
oof
for the lulz
im saying to make a ryzen cpu that supports ddr3 not use an existing ryzen 3 or somthin

i have a "lazer" office mouse lmao
when did logitech make theese?
oh btw its wireless
or not?
NVMe never gets used by a consumer
Unless you really love transferring 10GB+ files
PCIe adapters
You got CPUs with 64 lanes
which means you could do like 12+ NVMe drives
who needs that?
ye but wtf would u store
the only thing i can think of is an audiophile that wants to store flacless audio on his phone
@prime jasper spicy memes.
for a phone idek
I only have so much storage because I still had a 256GB card laying around.
I don't play games on my phone.
i have 16gb
i just have only 1 game and my pictures its only 1.6 gb
i have a few albums stored on spotify that uses my storage, i think i have 8gb left
oof
i have like 2 games downloaded, and maybe 5 downloaded aps
I've downloaded almost my whole spotify playlist it has 400+ songs
yea i dont travel enough to dl that many songs
and thankfully, the places i have gone get service for a long time
dont die
I have a like
8GB micro ssd card with 800 or so songs on it from spotfiy
songs don't take a lot of storage
depends on dl quality
really?
do u just dl them all in low quality

on high quality songs take up a fuckload of space
i remember a couple hundred songs on high quality took up like ~10gb no problem
that's why i just stream em now and say fuck it to downloading
yea i think i have a hundred or 2 hundred songs dled and it took like 6 gb
on wifi 99% of the itme anyways
yeah
cause i mean why tf dl in low quality
screw that
yea spotify says im using 4gb for music
my dl quality is very high
i would say i have somewhere between 100 and 200 songs
cant find a dl song list
I normally grab mine in low quality as I save a LOT of music on my phone, go to the country often and don't have coverage
hey guys anyone here with bf1 installed?
Why?
DLC
can you check your client size real quick?
nah i clicked repair yesterday and partition got full
and stopped at 25%
broken feature imagine my shock
I uninstalled it recently but its around 80GB with just the game
and more with DLC
81.42GB for just the game
i think thats the entire game
I doubt it
at least most in forums say that
Mp3 potato quality about 3-6mb per song, good quality 80-100mb
i just do high quality
does anyone have PBT keycaps
hmm, i've bound my Yaw Left and Yaw Right to my mouse for the pilot settings in BFV. But when I go left with my mouse, my plane goes right and if I go right with my mouse, my plane goes left. anyone know how to fix it?
is there invert options?
not that I know of, there is one to invert the pitch but turning that off doesn't seem to work
it seems to be happening with roll too. (when i tried to bind it to that) but rest of my game input isn't reversed
only with planes.
there might be a place to change JUST plane settings
i guess the question belongs here) guys, i'm crying, tears of happiness π i bought and i7-3770 IvyBridge, a fckn MSI mobo with old bios, scared the shit of me when upgrading bios, π installed it and i have good performance on 64 players server, operations, conquest, so, now when i'm shooting with Automatico or a LMG i have trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr not trrr..rrrr.....rr...rrr.r...rrrrr π in video settings i set the framerate of monitor, so i constantly have 60 fps, it means my monitor support only to 60 fps?
oh huh.. after trying to change the input multiple times it fixed it self. i guess it's just a bug that i was experiencing! ;D
@whole birch I had a similar issue, I had to unlock v-sync and run in borderless. It was grayed out for me at first, but I kept playing with settings, and it unlocked.
disable vsync, while you monitor is only 60hz there is no reason to cap it
Congrats on the upgrade, hope you're as happy with it as I was mine recently.
vsync is disabled, well, i don't mind, it's working cool, tomorrow will arrive my 260Gigs SSD and then i will catch the begin of the round :D
@molten bramble thank you, i'm not a fan to upgrade the pc, but played a lot of BF3/BF4/BF1, now i'm happy like a little kid, i played good on very low settings, now i play extra-good π
Haha, I get ya
Wait till next week?
mm mm

AMD has their keynote next Wednesday
since my mobo is faulty
only thing I was gonna use from current build was my 1070
but uh
would've liked to upgrade it
and since the Navi is gonna be announced soon
was amped
yea just wait, amd is expected to drop their next cpus, and hopefully their next gpus
im stoked
Navi is more mid range
So it should beat out 1070s easily
but AMD GPUs don't have the best performance records
isnt the 3070 supposed to be better than 1080?
early leaks suggested they were gonna call their new gpus rx 3070, as a kind of "one up" on the rtx 2070 line
and it would match their 3xxx naming convention for their cpus
but, who knows
mm mm
well
I'd totally go amd if they can prove performance superiority over ngreedia
and intel
no ray tracing planed for amd
who cares lmao
exactly
for 300-350 youll get 2070 performance...
mhm
IF these leaks are true
if they are, its expected nvidia will release gtx 2070's without ray tracing and match their performanec and price
will be interesting to see how 7nm pans for efficiency
mhm
i think they would if amd starts taking sales
like i said, drop ray tracing, calling it gtx 2070, and sell around the same price and they will be fine
All tech companies have took a hit
were they 50% hits?
Nvidia took a huge hit because they fucked up their quarterly aimings
When you expect to make way more money than you do
Then you deserve the fallout
Rumors mean nothing
they deserve fallout from not giving normal gaming benchmarks and stopping others with an NDA
Remember that Turing was suppose to be Volta
and suppose to be out in April
and suppose to be cheaper with way better performance
right forgot about 11xx
Every company does the whole shady benchmarks + NDA before launch
not the same with rtx
"X% better performance than last generation"
In benchmarks that made to run on the next generation leagues better than last
its like earlier, everyone took a hit with stock, but its not the same hit
no the practice isnt new, but the degree and price gauging is
and ate the bullet when they planned for much more demand
Also no, the no competition = insane prices is not unique
Intel did it for years
Nvidia did it for years before
Hell people bitch about the RTX Titan
But they were not around for the Titan Z
Nvidia doesn't advertise the RTX Titan as the ultimate gaming card, but pull up the once $3000 Titan Z's webpage
rt 2030 lol
0 times better then the gt 1030 but you guys buy everything
i phone xs max just a bigger screen but u guys buy anything
?
im making fun at companies that realeases the same shit but more expinsive and everyone buys it
no
whats so funny about that
ik they arnt the same
its the consumers who buy that are at fault :D
people who are clueless buy stuff like that
nah, people who have money
The 1030 existed for a reason
its like you dont wanna drive around in ford ka if you can buy lamborghini
but for some people its the option that they will have to take if they want a car or a "modern" gpu
gtg gn
GOODNIGHT

perfect
lmao
I know someone who has two
The 4k 120hz HDR monitor
A 7980XE, a 9900k, a 8086k, a 7700k, 1950x, and more
but he also likes to buy a bunch of hardware so
Kinda jealous of his planned chiller loop to run daily XOC (and his 9900k at well above safe voltages so rip it in 5 months)
link?1
Hardware news this week focuses on the NVIDIA class action complaint, Intel's movement toward F-SKUs without the IGP, and the GTX 1160. Ad: EVGA G3 750W PSU ...

good ol lenovo
its just a 2060
without the RT / tensor cores
aka how nividia is gonna do max-q GPUs
Since the RT cores can randomly pull a ton of power and probably get pretty warm
been having mad packet loss for days idk if anyone else is experiancing this
RT cores sit idle when you don't have Ray-Tracing or DLSS enabled
RTX 2060 uses TU106 architecture
GTX 1160 uses TU116

That means literally nothing
and when you enable 'ray-tracing' they become really fun
Most likely TU116 is just TU106 with the RT / tensor cores lasered off to be smaller
Also helps with the yields
I donβt know if I already said this but it needs to be known - I have a friend with an i9 9800x or whatever it is and a 1080ti who only plays Minecraft, EU4 and a tiny amount of Rome 2

why does Z390 exist
Z370 and Z390 have the same amount of pins but I think each pin on Z390 can handle a little more amperage than a Z370
Z390 is just USB 3.1
and integrated wifi
but some companies took Z270 boards and stuck Z370 in it
So the VRMs can be lackluster
lmao they just took out the Z270 socket and put a Z370 socket in
and chipset
What's the tldr of the video
I don't wanna watch 17m and like regular YouTube descriptions it doesnt give u an actual description
der8auer said Z390 is not good to buy if you already have Z370
they are basically the same
Ah
no
der8auer said Intel didn't need to change the socket from Z270-Z370 (by adding more ground and power pins)
He proved this by taping a bunch of pins up (and more than Z270) to prove they weren't harming his 9900k
Also tested a pin to see how many amps it could do
All a ploy to make motherboard manufacturers happy since nothing has changed in Intel CPUs in 6 fkin years
I mean.. if I could have dropped an 8700k in my old 3770k board I even would have
You can stick an 8700k in a Z170 board
with a basic cover a few pins with tape
and bios mod
thing is
Memory demands a lot of pins
So DDR3 -> DDR4 meant more pins
and quad channel means more pins
Yeah my Asus z390 defaulted my 3000 ram to 2166 and it was like a 20% perf hit in BF
There are so many people running 2133 and want to upgrade their entire rig because their cpu lags
Uh yeah the default settings are 2133mhz
So if you failed to boot for some reason it'll go to 2133mhz
scary how many people out there might not know to use the XMP profile for their ram

that website is awesome. That's where I go if I need a quick 8gb ram for something
my i5-8400 gtx 1070 is getting 20-40 fps in battlefield
time to upgrade my pc
singlechannel 2133 cl 20 ram
@minor turret dual channel memory is important for BFV
i am parodying the average bot saying he gets bad fps with decent rig
if a 2500k gets better fps than you get with DDR4 rig then something is wrong
I have a ryzen 5 1600, 16gb 3000 mhz dual channel ram and a RX 580, I get 85-90 fps average on ultra with occasional dips to 70-75
on medium settings I get around 120-130 fps lol
@minor turret are you getting 20-40 fps constantly or is it dipping to that low
@latent light i am making fun of people struggling with bad ram complaining over bad fps
unable to enable xmp
i am running fine at 180 with dips to 130 with gtx 1070/2600/3533 ram
max fps means nothing, always consider the low fps
because when you are on the low fps is when things matter most usually
oh lmao
Max and low fps means nothing, always aim for consistency
Praise straight lines on my frametimes graph
well low fps @ 200 is pretty straight in bf v
frametimes > fps
sucks when you get a consistent frametime of 7 ms then it suddenly gets a 30ms spike
30ms isn't a big deal but it's noticeable
guys i have a problem
my gpu usage is like 0.1-0.5% in every battlefield game
i've formatted my pc, reinstalled the games, repaired, nothing seems to work
my specs are an i5 6600k and a GTX 1070 SC
getting on high graphics/medium around 60-50fps
rarely above 70s
try plugging your dp/hdmi in the graphics card instead motherboard I/O?
it is? duuh im not that stupid
Hi
I want to buy another 8 gb of ram. Currently I have only 8 GB. This is the model I have. CMK8GX4M1A2666C16
And I want to buy this one. CMK8GX4M1A2400C14R
Will there any performance issues?
possibly
having the same model and same speed of ram is optimal
since you currently have 2666 MHz, look for another Corsair Vengeance LPX rated at the same speed
They aren't available anymore in my country. Also they are %40 expensive than the model I want to buy due to low amount of stock.
What about buying 4 gb with 2666 mhz? Will that work with 8 gb ram?
Ok. Thank you very much.
My cpu temp change between 65-75Β° during gameplay. Is it normal or should I change my stock cooler with a better one? I have i5-7600.
65-75 is quite fine on stock cooler
https://gyazo.com/21e8b5e38b8b84a14836c05dd3e2e124 this is my worklaptop temp maxes when im running parallel builds of c++ and C# code for 30minutes :D
Wow 96Β°. I guess your cpu support upto 135Β°?
105 probably
i7 4900MQ
shitty old dell workstation laptop, should get a new one already
Max. Temperature 100 Β°C
but really gaming and compiling code in parallel or running avx ops are not comparable
I just downloaded the pictures I took from the NVIDIA event from gamescom
expect to see some really nice builds
it just works @winged tapir
This phone is actually pretty solid. While I don't really like anything that is "GAMING" branded, i played with this for a good 5 minutes and i liked the phone
hey guys
so my bfv wont go over 50% gpu load
i got an i5 8600k gtx 1080 16gb of ram
what are u using to play?
im on pc, and i play in full screen
cuz it happened to me on playstation 4
but after that it loaded
how long have u waited?
oh
someone ping me when they can help
@floral pilot what's your CPU usage
I wouldn't think an 8600K would be that big a bottleneck but quite possibly with a GTX1080 on 1080p
Also what's your frames
Ah, so it's definitely a CPU bottleneck then
The lower your resolution the less the GPU will be used but the CPU will always be hammered
The only real way to get more frames there would be to overclock your CPU I think
That or upgrade
well, you should be able to get more fps from i5-8600k according to tests made in https://gamegpu.com/action-/-fps-/-tps/battlefield-v-test-gpu-cpu-2018
8600k+2080ti gives 122fps min and 150fps max, on dx11 ultra
I read your GPU as 1060 and was wondering how people were saying there was a bottleneck
Most likely another case of dogshit ram
or broken or malfunctioning cpu fan, and cpu is throttling the clocks, but still running at 100% load
I get like
100-140fps in BFV maxed
on an 8600k / 1080
1080p is a hardcore bottleneck for a 2080ti
my point on 2080ti fps was that 8600k is not bottlenecked by the 1080, the cpu should be able to do more than 100fps
i swear to god this game uses all 12 threads of my cpu and hits it hard
like its getting close to prime 95 temps
Game isn't built in AVX only instructions so it won't near P95 SFFT
that matters for intel not so much for amd
which doesnt run nearly as hot as intel because it doesnt use 512
or whatever its called
i dont remember the name but amd clearly lacks the instruction intel has and as such doesnt cause as much heat as intel
amd is apparantly adding it to next gen ryzen
AMD can use whatever instruction sets from Intel it wants
Due to patent agreements
Zen+ draws a lot less power than Coffeelake (aka Kabylake 2.0) and has a much better solder job
just googled it, intel has 256 bit wide execution units vs amd that splits into two 128 bit operations
which effectively means ryzen today does not need seperate avx offsets etc
and heat is not necessarily that different on synthetic benches
Hey, I can Play BF5 on High ( 50-70 FPS)
But if i play the Campaign, i have HEAVY laggs and the cutscenes are laggy af what can i do?
the cutscenes are laggy for everyone
^
but you can try a file repair
okay, how? xD
Go to Origin and view your games library. Right click over Battlefield V and select repair
alright thanks :)
yw
yeah i know i just found that reaction

*At least in cases like this one :D [ sry, clickbait works, but see these awesome articles below v] Full article, including the mentioned numa/"ideal cpu" du...
YOU RUINED IT

Windows holds back the 2990WX and Epyc CPUs performance
epyc isnt out tho
the Epyc 7551
ahh gotcha
AMD was first to GHz clock speeds, integrated memory controllers, Gigaflop stream processors and chiplets

Windows already harms 12t+ CPUs
Some games get better performance by disabling SMT
Since Windows won't bounce the game around threads
is it pointless to disable SMT on 8 core CPUs?
I was going to get an 8 core 3rd gen Ryzen CPU and disable SMT since I won't be needing all of those extra threads
and will enable them in the future if games fully utilize 8-cores in the near future
idk, I could skip this new generation for Zen 3 in 2020 for possible DDR5 memory which will definitely increase Ryzen performance dramatically
Less power draw
More overclocking headroom
Less heat
If you don't need the extra threads then disable SMT honestly
you think DDR5 will be available in 2020
It will be expensive if it is
lol
and it won't be on consumer hardware
but will it taste better then 4 π€
DDR5 rumored to default at 5200 MHz speed
but I think it will be somewhere around 4000 default
DDR4 is 2133 at default
I think DDR3 starts at 800
wtf ddr5 is supposed to come out this year?
The new DDR5 chip from SK Hynix supports a 5200 MT/sec/pin data transfer rate, which is 60% faster than the 3200 MT/s rate officially supported by DDR4. Meanwhile the DRAM operates at 1.1 Volts, a 9% decrease in operating voltage.
No?
The spec has been around since like 2014
_Release date: 2019 estimated_
Predecessor: DDR4 SDRAM```
Since I don't want to know the amount of effort required to get that kind of bandwidth across the same pins
tbf estimated release date doesnt mean consumer
it'll be on server CPUs first
Just like PCIe 4.0
Companies can afford to front that cost for performance
DDR4 first came out for servers didn't it
Probably
I remember people claiming that the 6700K would destroy the 4790K because of DDR4

even though it only supported up to 2400 MHz with anything higher being an overclock
uh yeah the first of any will not be as good
The first CPUs to support DDR5 won't be taking advantage of it
Most Intel CPUs can do 4133mhz+ on good motherboards for DDR4
4266 on Z390
Give DDR5 a few years to mature and that kind of performance should be common
You could probably do more with a Z390 Dark
when it comes out
Faster
is clock speeds going to be the only interesting thing for DDR5
DDR4 at best can do like 4666mhz
Over 5000mhz and CPUs lose their minds
How they do the timings will be neat to see
but beyond most people's caring
5200mhz on DDR4 would be amazing if you could pull it off with decent timings and non 3T command rate
but you can't so
4.8 GHz was considered golden on 6700k
people have gotten a 2700X to 4.4 GHz at 1.45v

still disappointed that a 2800X never came out
even though there probably wouldn't been a use of it besides der8aurer overclocking it to hell
probably wasn't enough good yields to make a 2800X
der8aurer had to push 1.8v to get 2700X at 6 GHz on LN2
@latent light 2800x not coming out wont matter if these 3700x leaks are real. 12 core 24 thread, 5ghz boost
5ghz boost on 1-2c
Maybe 4.6ghz at best across all cores
Since AMD really pushes the single core / multi core boosts
Boi. Suk meh
tbh if I bought a 12 core/24 thread 3700X, I'd disable SMT
I'd just disable a die when not needed
do you think a 12 core CPU would have 8 on one die and 4 on the other or 6 and 6
i mean isnt that how threadripper is 2 really binned 2600/1600?
Pretty sure I saw a claim that ddr5 will have faster speeds while maintaining latencies
in which case it will be an outright upgrade unlike ddr4 at launch
@latent light 6 and 6
@mental hatch Threadripper are just EYPC CPUs with cut out features
I mean
Have you even seen the size of TR4 vs AM4? There is zero chance of a 2600 ending up as a 1950x
@steep gust maybe were talking about 2 different things but this is what im referring to https://www.techpowerup.com/236018/amd-ryzen-threadripper-summit-ridge-dies-are-heavily-binned
@minor turret that isn't how overclocking headroom works
more space between cores will improve spot temps on individual cores
but ryzen has a soft temp limit of 60c where if you go above it you need more voltage per clock
it starts downclocking above that
Uh what
my 1600 goes to 80C without downclocking
like i can get 4.25 1.4v manual oc fine below 60c, not stable above
1600 is different and is irrelevant
That is called thermal throttling and it's nowhere near that low outside of Threadripper CPUs
its the 2. gen
There is very little difference
PBO looks at thermals and limits OC headroom just like nvidia gpus do
can't 1.4v weaken Ryzen over time
1.4v is pushing it but i run a 2600 as a placeholder
Zen+ never got a number but around 1.4v from PBO settings
but considering that Zen+ is literally just Zen on 12nm
and node shrinks generally result in more leakage, I doubt its much higher than 1.4v and not above Zen 1
R1 was 1.4v to be safe, official maxx 1.425v but some reports of degradations.
r2 has nothing official but reports of degradations at 1.4v and above so 1.375 usually recommended
even r1 had stability issues over 70c, r2 seems even more temp sensitive
You don't see voltage scaling (aka temp) until below 0C on almost every CPU
So it sure doesn't have to do with a limit on the silicon and more a risk of degrading at higher voltages at higher temps
AMD bins most of Rzyen pretty hard
You don't get the same overclocks that are possible on Intel also due to the lack of voltage scaling (14nm Intel if you keep it cool it will generally scale pretty well till like 1.45v), since the factory settings are already pretty hardcore
@storm osprey Aliaz 60g, 70g, 80g, or 100g?
that's just the weight it takes to press down the keys?
Probably around 50
damn
That's normal
i want the most absolute quiet mechanical keyboard
lol
I thought romer g was quiet
can't find a keyboard with them already installed, have to buy them seperately and put them in
Yep lol
Could just do the alpha keys
10 aliaz switches are $5.50

I'm going to gift my friend a custom keyboard with random weight for each key
π
50g to 100g randomly
the most evil plan

Tenkeyless (87 keys). Select your own combo of switches & keycaps. Will require you to insert switches/keycaps before using the keyboard

is it this?
Ohh that's the one nyphon told me I should get
Yeah that one, I have that at work and I like it, the rgb isn't very bright, but good enough
aliaz compatible with it?
I'll check tomorrow when I go to work
But I'm sure it is
I think everything is, you might have to clip some plastic stems on the switches though
what keyboard do you have your aliaz switches on
I'd have to find that tomorrow. It's a kit that my friend put together for me
It's an xd84 pcb board, and some metalbase
My child is 28 months old
Yeah that video, he smashes the keys
I touch type and you can really only hear the spring and leaflet actuate

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Playing on ps4. Recently, I am looking for headset. Any advice? (Don't actually want to spend too much money.)
Logitech G933
Oh wait you wanted cheap
I'd always recommend Logitech tbh
Definitely don't get like a turtle beach or something, those suck balls
@jovial yoke we need a cap
cause for me a 100 dollar headset falls under not too much money
superlux hd 681(b) if on hard budget, chinese brand
though if you research there might be better ones out now
oh nvm i didnt realize superlux didnt have a mic
Thx! My friend recommended me ps4 wireless headset but it's a little bit too expensive for me. Is it worthwhile?
7.1 virtual surround is a gimmick
@latent light if you were to get the GMMK and the aliaz switches, you would have to cut down 2 plastic tabs
So normal surround sound is good enough for amateur player like me?
almost all headphones are stereo headphones
they are just 1 left and 1 right speaker
whenever they say 5.1 or 7.1 its simulated
some of the best "gaming" headphones arent even made for gaming
Lol, didn't know that before. I'm using the ear headset they gave to it me when I bought my smartphone.
im a slight audiophile, and a pretty serious gamer
Do I need to upgrade it?
(in eyes head phones)
Lol. I think I have the thoughts. Thx for the replying.
whats your budget?
and you need headset built in right?
yes
Thx a lot!
Hello all! I am looking to buy a UPS for my gaming rig (although if it has the wattage to support my monitor that would be great) but since Iβm a college student, I canβt afford to shell out $300+ for one. Can anyone recommend me one that is a bit easy on the price but will do well and not short out/cause a fire? My usual gaming wattage is 540w, but I wonβt be gaming on it during a storm, and my monitor does pull ~100-115w
PSU?
monitor runs off its own power
im kinda confused what you want
you can get a quality 600w psu for like 70 bucks easy
100 tops
Itβs called a UPS. Basically itβs like a surge protector, but with a battery @storm osprey
uh no
To have a UPS that is like a surge protector you will need hundreds to thousands of dollars
To get one that is inline and not just a battery that connects when it notices a power drop
PSU = power supply unit
UPS = Uninterruptible power supply
Generally a UPS is just a battery and basic electronics when cheap
@steep gust has a better description. I was on the run on my phone writing my basic interpretation haha.
Regardless, Iβm looking for a good priced UPS if anyone has any recommendations
a car battery and knowledge about soldering
Dunno much about UPS outside of ones to run a system off of cost a small fortune
Since if your PSU detects any drop in AC input, it shuts off
got like 300 bucks in amazon giftcards, what should i get? a 3d printer, upgrade pc, save for tv, or home theater stuff?
Depends on what you want
I would see if your local library has 3D printers, good ones are costly
local libraries have public 3d printers?
depends, they might
the ones you buy at home are not that good, at least in my experience few years ago
unless you buy some more expensive one
from the couple of hours of research ive done you can get a pretty solid creality ender 3 for like 200 bucks
Libraries have a lot of stuff
yea im gonna check that out
see what their rates are
im not gonna get into all crazy
but want to test shit out and see if i like 3d printing
i have some keycap and mouse shape designs i want to try
yep, things that I want to 3d print are usually something got broken and I need to replace it
but for that owning your own printer is like... not really worth :D
that picture shows the 2 main differences in the pins for switces
most modular boards dont have slots for the plastic pins
so you have to cut them off
oof
logitech defaults to 400,800,1200, etc
Replaces Logitech Gaming Software?
if I can switch between 400, 800, 1200, etc. without any extra software then that's good
π
This software is much better and easier to use. Especially setting up macros.
what's the native dpi on the g502
does it manage their webcams etc still?
p r o
"I went to Google it and it appears all DPI is native to the g502's sensor"
neat
same as the ec2-a then (though the ec2-a only lets you switch between 400, 800, 1600, and 3200)
π€’
same for g402 afaik ;)
i wanted the pro keyboard
as long as 800 works well I'm content
i had the 810
I like my numpad for csgo buy binds haha
who needs numpads?1
I do
for what?
typing numbers.
fuck that
that's sloppy
I got used to the numpad
/time-consuming
i dont need to use num pad during gaming
I like numpad
i just got this keyboard like a month ago, dont even miss the numpad
how else are you gonna fly in GTA V without a numpad?
had a razer keyboard before
plus it's not like I need that 8cm extra space
never played gtav
who needs arrow keys?
Arrow keys are used for your phone in gta
are we playing slimeball?

welp, its a good thing i dont play gta v
anyone looking for a mouse should get the finalmouse ultralight air ninjas

used my old keyboard for like 5 years, and sold it for $15 less than what i paid for it... lmao
thats a deal
sold my 810 for 10 less than i bought it
well, thats including the price of the game that came with it
got a 910
pretty happy with it
although i wished you can turn off the multimedia keys
or change their color
from blue

you cant change those keys color?!
with cherry reds?
whoever lives with you must hate you
(though this keyboard doesn't really have anything fancy, except macros - I just like the form factor a lot)
HD800
with a modmic on the side
JESUS
those are? 600?
they were ~1000β¬
they're not RGB. Just blue
orange ftw, and yea that blue would bother the shit out of me
oh yea i used those headphones before, sound nice
idk if i would ever get hd 800s
i would like to, but damn
I have some eq on them as well
you use them for music as well?
yeah, music and gaming
what amp dac?
a Schiit Vali 2 as the amp, my old FiiO E10K as the dac
Right now I'm using the Steelseries Arctics 3 (They're not that good but I got them last year as a gift). And I have a pair of Audio Technica M50X which i use for movies and music.
nice, i got a schiit stack
which ones?
modi 2 magni 2
got them brand new for 130$ total
oh shit, that's a hell of a deal
ah
any specific reason you switch to those for gaming?
i had the 700x for gaming from the beginning
their soundstage and detail are really good
ah, nice
they are harsh though and a bit dry
so they are great for gaming, but kinda suck for music and movies
yeah
i got a new job and now im at a desk
so thats why i got the schiit stack and 6xx for music here
(at work atm)
I sorta want to try a TH900 somewhere, but I don't think they sell those in many places in Finland
6xx soundstage is really intimate, profile isnt great for gaming. so i dont use those for gaming
makes sense
the 6xx are SUPER easy to listen to
but the downside is that a lot of people will say its boring
i had the 58x which are basically hd 660s little brother
and they were definitely more exciting music wise, but it was a little too much
ha
i imagine thats what the hd 800 are kinda like
they're very neutral
so probably "boring" by most standards
but have a great soundstage and respond to eq really well
so you can sorta make them what you want π
I made the mistake of trying them out at a store
after that I just really wanted to get them
lol
but definitely try them first if you can
thank god i havent found anywhere to demo them
back when I was first getting into headphones (coming from gaming headsets) I tried the HD518(?) I think
definitely wasn't a fan of those
and not knowing much about headphones, I steered away from sennheiser in general for a while
aww ouch
tried DT880s after that, which are still probably the best bang for your buck headphones I'd recommend
(plus its sisters, DT770 and DT990, though I haven't tried those)
i havent heard the 770
any idea how the HD6XX/650 compare to HD600?
they are just closed back right?
I tried a pair of HD600s at the same time as the HD800s and found them really "muddy"
yeah afaik 770s are basically a closed back, V-shaped 880
and 990s are open back (and also V-shaped)
i havent heard the 600 myself, but afaik they have a wider soundstage, and are more neutral
650/6xx has boosted lows, forward mids, and recessed highs
so they really emphasize vocals and easy listening
600 is supposed to be their studio headphones iirc
ah alright
i think i would like the 600 more than the 6xx/650 but im not gonna pay 100 bucks more for them
(at least)
yeah, and if you're happy with the 6xx why bother
right, its perfect for work, since its so easy going
it masks a lot of bad recordings too
if imagine the 600 would just reveal everything
that's definitely the opposite of the hd800 then π
bad recordings stand out like a sore thumb
a blessing and a curse
have you tried any flacless tracks?
flacless?
its like pure 1:1 recordings
do you mean flac files in general, or is "flacless" something more specific?
oops, yea put less at the end
I have a bunch of music I've bought encoded as flac but I don't really notice much if any difference between those and 320kbps mp3/similar tbh
i feel you gotta get like super CRITICAL to hear the difference
yeah, know what to look for etc.
i did a test online and got 6/7 or something to where i only missed 1
but man, it wasnt THAT big of a difference
oof, I picked the 128kbps one in half of those π
if we're talking about the same test
it was interesting, in half of them I picked the 128, in the other half the wav file
had like 3 options that you clicked and it played a sample
