i assume taking a screenshot will look nothing on someone elses screen as it wont capture the color settings
lol right, and im not at home right now either
splitting the disco window across 2 screens is damn near impossible to get them to match haha
yea i used to have 2 monitors, and hated that they both werent the same
well i probably need a non gaming subjective view at content for game creation
hard to know what your settings should be for the most realistic view everyone else sees.. prob a standard of sorts
ill let the artists deal with that π
Because people spam memes otherwise
Oh okay
tech channel might be ok to open up to embed
we like postin pics of benchmarks and stuffs π
or at least have a screen shot channel imo
Ye, wanted to post a screenshot here earlier.. of a benchmark
ooh i was waiting but forgot new intel benchmarks are out today
with cpus
looks like 9700K hangs in on 95% percentile FPS π
fkin anandtech didnt bench BF1
most cpu intensive engine
well they got bfront 2.. 9700k seems 100% on par if not better in some games
the 2700x to me falls apart on the 99% percentile benchmarks
CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme GXIVR8020A5 Desktop Gaming PC (Intel i5-8400 6 Core Processor, AMD RX 580 4GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB 7200RPM HDD, WiFi, Win 10 Home 64-bit), Black - VR Ready Hey hows this pc? Im not planning of play bf on it cus i have bf of the ps4. I wanna use it for games like rainbow 6, the forest, mc (lol yea i still play Minecraft i know), etc. Oh it doesnt day but its a 500w power supply
May as well look into ryzen for mid level
Pre built runs an unnecessary premium doesn't it?
Im gonna go with intel because i know whats good for intel, i dont know, i dont know much about ryzen even tho i read alot of articles and stuff about ryzen, im not biased towards anything im willing to try anything out rly
8400 is $200?
8600K is solid too
How much is it?
260 I think
So for my plan for my pc, is im gonna upgrade everything except the case cus the case is dopeXD
The pc all together is 700 and i dont rly feel like paying anymore than that cus the monitor im also getting is 200
With video? Yea that's cheap haha
Wym by with video?
Oh ye its a 24 inch 144hz monitor 1080p
Freesync?
Wut that?
AMD supported tech to reduce tearing etc
Oh
Nvidia has one also in some monitors
Oh cool
Idk actually if the monitor has freesync
Lemme check
No it doesnβt have freesync
Poop I'd maybe research a bit more on monitor, what size?
27" 144hz gsync
1440p wouldn't work ;p
You seen this one? AOC G2460PF 24β Gaming Monitor, FreeSync, FHD (1920x1080), TN Panel, 144Hz, 1ms, Height Adjustable, DisplayPort, HDMI, USB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BV1XBEI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_tpPYBbQ6WB0WX
Feel like you could get a much better one black Friday but it seems to get decent reviews
Ye
Freesync and gsync are great
Gsync only works on Nvidia cards
Youd need to consider a 1060
Alrighty
But ya monitor decisions are very important
thats the 1080p monitor i recommend
Ye
Nice man
1920x1080
Ye but
The lc im getting is a rx 580 and im gonna grt a 1060
If i find a pc that has a 1060 in it itl be over my budget
Cus itl have like an i7, asus or as rock mb with 16gb ram and all the other expensive stuff
Is that $700 a new PSU ?
Whats PSU? Sorry im kind of new when it comes to tech stuff
power supply
Dang
That's dirt cheap they aren't marking it up pre built
Just selling everything built I guess
That's with a decent msi Mobo
I wouldve buit a custom pc but, everything in the market it getting too expensive
Yup
That's cheap
Its bot im my budget, im only 14 soo, i dont has a job yet so i cant get anything too expensive
The 580 is plenty for 1080p
$679 parted out no windows
Man is seems to be cheap parts they even list what's in it
Wuts an OEM key?
No i dont have a case rn
Ohh
Ye
My one fear of building a pc is breaking something cus i have a habit of forcing things
Whats only 50?
A good enough case
Oh
Ah well you'll get inferior parts but if you'll destroy $300 worth of parts π
Yea lol
pre builts commonly have the cheap shit for parts
Also im afraid of the pc not powering up and buying parts that are dead
Time to grow some nuts and patience!
If parts are dead on arrival you have the right to return them
Tru,
This rarely happens btw
Oh
I've built 100s of machines. Only a handful had dead parts
It's like 5 screws into the board and stuff plugs into slots but that's easy since I'm old
I somewhat know how to build a pc, ive watched multiple tutorials
I remember my first build like 25 years ago, took 3 hours but nothing went wrong
Only part that needs a little force is ram and the CPU cooler depending on mounting mechanism
Alright
Yeah the cpu fan and heatsink could be a diaster if you went aftermarket
Like insane catastrophy lol
The stock one is pretty easy
So ive been doing research for about 5 months now and i keep on going back and forth with deciding to build a pc or jist buy a prebuilt one UGH!!! Good god im still stuck between them
Noctua coolers are easier to install than stock imo
Their mounting mechanism is so good
The 212 Evo was a fucking bear
But I missed a small spacer
Had to take the whole damn board out and start over
When i talk to ppl online they say build one but my parents say just buy a prebuild cus itll save time and would have less risk i just dont know
Haha well they paying for it?
Do you have friends with pc building experience?
I want to build a pc for the experience but idk
Nope
Only my friends dad i think
I assume your father has 0 or he hates you
I think hes built a pc
I mean... As long as you don't slip a screwdriver and shove it into the board
He knows tech but hes never built a pc

And he doesnt hate me lolXD
Aight
He despises me
Ram, CPU, video is pretty easy
Theres a difference
If you force cpu...
Yea i know how to do that
Only goes one way but I guess you could bend all the pins lol
Just put the cpu down and dont touch the top right?
Yes it drops in no force
Align the corners and put down the bracket
The bracket takes some force
If it doesn't, lift and make sure it's got the right corner aligned
Alright
There's only one tiny corner to line up
Left or right side?
You'll see.
OHH! The suspense!!π±
I do prefer navidia but i can always change it to navidia, or will i have tk change the motherboard for that?
Ya
Dope, thx for the help guys
If you are going that route build it yourself
Going from 580 to 1060 isn't worth it
Good luck
yea thats kind of lateral
so its either prebuilt crap parts for same price as great parts π
parted out
Both support gsync
Oh alright
Everything from 600 series and up support it
π
Noice
I'm sorta new to EA (always been skeptical cus of the high prices.) I'm finally in, but I need some friends. Anyone wanna?
OwO
Check out the looking for games channel
@prime jasper If you need people to play with, please ask in the LFG channels #lfg-pc #lfg-playstation or #lfg-xbox depending on your platform.. Do not post in Tech
That's why
Im thinking about it
@unborn epoch just noticed that I have enough courage to ask a girl out to homecoming, but not enough courage to play mulitplayer on my own. Lol
Also, what is #technology for?
Well guns kill people
O
For anything technology related
You fit right in
Yay
I have a crappy 1300 dollar laptop, can u guess what it is??
Wel currently, obviously im gonna get a pc
1300 dollar current value?
Yea it hasnβt gone down cus the company want money
Probably macbook

You shouldn't be playing battlefield then
It's all good. Don't worry about it
Macbooks are no good for games. Only good for browsing Instagram while at Starbucks.
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_RTX_2070_Founders_Edition/8.html - BF benchmark for the 2070 founders edition
50% price difference for 15% performance increase over 1070 ti
assuming $400~ for 1070ti (price I paid), although there is one on newegg for $360, and multiple around $400
the base $500 2070 is 15% better
which are avail
i mean its really a sht kick in the pants card release but its still not obvious what to buy if you are coming from < 10xx
probably the cheapest acceptable 1070Ti id buy is $430
non founder would probably be between 1080 and 2070 founders
so to me it's more 430 vs 500
going to look for more reviews
mine is arriving Tues ;P
ish
1070ti wasnt ever really an option for my 1440p gaming needs, 1080 minimum
$500
well jesus.. newegg's EVGA 1080s are higher than a 2070 lol
this is all just a huge mess
stock is gone, 1070Ti is last of the crap remaining and fk if ill pay $500 for that card
$450 even for B Stock from EVGA on 1080s
you can score a B stock 1070Ti from EVGA website for $350
1 yr warranty
which i prob shoulda done and upgraded the rest of my rig but ehhh
what do you mean by b stock?
refurb basically but better than buying off ebay
i mean... $350.. sadly is cheap in this shit time
and that's the SC version
missed the 1 week window everyone clearing all their 1080/Ti stock
having freesync monitor as a rival to gtx 1070-ti i'd go vega rx 56. the sapphire nitro+ or red devil ones are kind of reasonably priced. the hugest fortune would be to find on a good price margin xfx rx 56 vega.
the hybrid one.
amd is flexibility in terms of interface, nvidia is rough performance on the top of the line 3 latest cards they have got.
on budget both of them are the rivals and winners.
Yeah Vega 56 would be a good alternative for that performance range, main issue is I'm still seeing them with high prices as they haven't finished bouncing back from the mining boom
rx 580's in the country i live in still suffers from mining kraze. i managed pick up rx 580 8gb red dragon powercolor powered one for 264eur.
the hugest problem is due to advertisement "asus the god" but on reality for the price asus nvidia/amd cards costs u can afford brand new 1070 lower tier or zotac one a mid range amp core one.
the sapphire and powercolor ones prices are decent. XFX with there GTR-S and GTS editions of hard swap fans are in premium range~340euros, msi ~310euros as aorus gigabyte ones. asus strix-~400-440euros which is fked up.
vega rx 56 480-540euros, as 1080/1070ti but it's kind of fair pricing-the freesync monitor equal to nvidia's gsync ones with oled panels has about 250-300eur difference.
let's say Freesync oled(qled) 1080p curved VA panel samsung monitor 24inch goes for 270-350euros, the gsync equal one would cost 500-650+euros.
GPU brand means nothing on RTX / Pascal due to power limits, etc
Also gsync will cost at a minimum $250 for profits, due to the cost of the gsync module
Add in the panel then you get like $350+
buying 60-75hz gsync monitor 1080p is a waste so as 1440p
buying fsync one as this-worth due to reasonable pricing
gsync only 144hz and above for 1080p+
TFT VA Qled(oled) panels are not for nothing priced in premium range. in fact OLED VA panel 4k 144hz monitor goes for at least 1200$ which is 32inch if i'm not wrong. for equal nvidia gsync one supporting pnp one would go even more if not 2000$ hands down.
Black Friday is getting close.
and alas i have nothing to buy
might go for the Logitech G910 (or g810). π€
how about das keyboard?
Only complaints I've read about the G910 are the key caps
G810 is very comfortable, tried it before. But I'll be missing the macro keys

tbh the romer-g especially tactile suffers from mushness and actuation.
i mean seriouslly they do, i own g413 can tell you from experience
I felt that the romer-g switches are very loud especially if you type fast. Can hear the springs ringing
they're similar to cherry mx browns but in time starting creeking
it's not that loud tbh. just very very undurable-the later the worse and louder sound gets. if you're writing alot and gaming get cherry mx reds
I was looking at the K70 brown switches but there's a huge price difference
I do have a Logitech g502 mouse. Can sync the RGB
hyperx, because k95 and k70lux/k68RGB's cherry mx reds suffers from unbelieveably loud spounds
ahh so you go due to design then
then check what's more affordable for you and includes rgb from logitech's side.
Brown switches felt really tactile and silent. Romer-g were all over the place
but i'd rlly advice you go cherry mx reds anyways.
i want a new machine just so i can get an m.2 drive, bad itch to have lol
yea i love my cherry mx browns on my k70 lux
Corsair had many keyboards laying around at gamescom for people to try. Should've gave them more time.
not having a tactile feedback erkd me bad
and they are much harder for typing and im a programmer
i can assure you k70 browns are amazing ;D
but... to each their own on keyboards
I mean I can pick up a G810 which is significantly cheaper and then add a keypad for macros later
I'm like the laziest person you can ever meet. Why use two fingers for a shortcut when you can use your pinky for a dedicated macro key
I love my G810 and will pick up a another G810 if this one dies.
Im thinking the same. Using a razer atm but thinking to switch to logitech
Noooooo
Hess have his own blackout crew now thats hes winning games
@quaint topaz I've had the g810 for a while now, it's great. They are slightly less tactile, shorter traveling browns, with built in sound dampening. The only key that is loud is the space bar, everything else is super quiet.
hmm
if youd like i have my g810 and cherry reds with orings
could do a blind test to see if you hear a difference
granted things like board dampening and keycaps can make a difference in sound as well
i also have red gaterons on me, my gateron browns are at work though
@rose eagle will a 1050 still work with gsync or no? i forgot to ask yesterday
1050 is pretty lowly, id say at least get a 1050ti, but they should all work with gsync
Origin won't let me search people to add them as a friend. All it directs me to is a blank page. What do I do?
Dm me answers
you're better off going rx 570 instead of 1050ti 4gb-theyre priced similar but 4gb rx 570 is unbelieaveably faster(match r9 390/290) in terms of performance. this is why amd competition is so enjoyable and great for budget users. you easily beat down nvidia's offered perf for similar price. i'm not amd fanboy-i'm a traitor of brands and manfacturers. switching is the best of having value set ups. i understand people having fx/i5/i7 2nd gen rigs until this day but i dont get the point of building an old amd fx rig now a days wheres old intels/ryzen just do even better.
@unkempt mirage gtx 1050ti is an outdate card. sure it;'s a budget one but such a waste of cash. save some money and get rx 570 4gb mini itx one from sapphire or the pulse one with two fans. you can age 570 better than what 1050-ti allows you to. gsync is only for high ends/premium card owners not budget ones.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz4f72Gg5Hw GTAV pleasures in terms of fps nvidia more-but remember, amd cards has more contrasting and sharper textures that allows you have nicier and more detailed graphics(on all games).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6cRNs1KBiY
not fake news but reality
sources please
GTX1050-ti<rx570 4gb~gtx1060 3gb<Rx580~gtx1060 6gb<GTX 1070-ti<Rx vega 56<gtx 1080<gtx 1080ti<gtx titan XP
i'm talking about image quality
we all know nvidia has superior gpus performance wise
then dont forget r9 390/x-r9 290-x that are second hands @prime jasper 10603-6gb/rx 580 4-8gb perf level
doesnt have superior performance wise in budget-only on high end(top of the line cards)
r9 290x is faster than gtx 1050ti even used r9 290x is just as cheap(despite its age).
gtx 1050/ti is gtx 950 to 960
source us on image quality
r9 290 matches gtx 970(ocd abou 980s perf) aka rx 50 4gb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7xDVOCRNTM @unborn epoch here you go.
rx 580 8gb is r9 fury-X tbh but so much more efficient.
where does it say anything about image quality
youtube compression, angled monitor, not recorded by a trillion dollar camera
fake news
i'm not a fanboy of any camp, i'm a fanboy of the truth
" zjebowita5000

true, even video on nvidia looks like a bit less colored, i mentioned this almost 13 years back, and still nothings changes, AMD= best quality, a bit lower fps, Nvidia = Uber FPS, Average image quality, that's the fact since first GTX was created.ο»Ώ
5
" comment on the video.
you might notice a difference on 10bit panels
i noticed that on 8bit also
that guy in your post used TN panels
right after i switched from gtx 960 4gb to 580 8gb ive tested on OW
also a biased source.
in quality mode for text filtering and also perf mode-even on perf mode amd graphics looked slightly better
panels as long theyre identical and monitor models provides 1:1 identical rgb/srgb etc color quality it's a fair comparison. like some acer predator monitor uses same tn/ips panel as asus rog one for their high ends.-as long it matches in terms of quality you're free to compare including monitor's models difference.
https://imgur.com/a/P1baNlG take a look at slow motion snap.
this is exactly how huge difference there is between nvidia and amd graphics-amd's more contrasting.
how can you even tell, they aren't even the same shots
the card's so far are on a par of the same perf and similar time released
https://imgur.com/a/59bthcO because of that.
nvidia's has more blur on identical settings
i'm looking at a compressed mess, what are you talkin gabout
I think I'm going crazy.
side by side comparison is only way to tell the difference
could you tell normal lcd/led ips panel looks worse than oled one of the same resolution settings on the same smartphone?
without comparing it side by side?
thats why i show you side by side comparison
slowmotion is only way to detect the differences.
that amd has better colors is old known fact. people just refuse that and go over that for extra 2-3frames.
I haven't seen any facts yet.
then you're outdated in gpu's market.
also old facts don't mean a darn thing, bought an amd beepboop5000? too bad the amd beepboop6000 came out with dingdong support
you;re hatin on the brands dont you?
not at all
you're spreading fakenews without supporting it with facts
hence fakenews
thats what you're thinking "amd is worse than nvidia bc it's nvidia"
every fanboy can say that.
i never implied that
nvidia has 3fastest gpus for gaming on the market, but on budget under 500$/euros, whether amd or nvidia they're both competitors.
sure
never tried to claim this wasn't the case
i only said NVIDIA has superior cards, which is in fact true
for how long? until amd release smth better and lose to amd?
high end war always has competitors-one wins other loses. in budget market their performance is equal, in some games/tasks amd wins, in some amd loses.
rx 480 and ryzen was a ascension for amd, the vega(rx 64 vega especially) a fall. amd released ryzen to compete with mainstream inte;l 6-7th gen cpus that forced intel to realsed 8th generation before even they switched on cooking 9th gen intels.
No one cares if image fidelity is mildly affected for some weird reason AMD keeps thinking someone will
also you can't compare image quality on a TN panel, get real
Some day when we are just full realism with nowhere to go it will be all about shinies
@rose eagle what would you prefer if can choose for the same price? gtx 1050ti 4gb or amd rx 570 4gb?
I don't know anything about amd tbh
but in terms of performance-what's your pick.
I do know almost everyone suggests it for low end though
so what you're saying: "amd is for poor people" ?
nopoors allowed
Lol no
user spends 800$ on amd 1950x
only 1080ti+ owners
does it mean he's"poor" ?
You said gpu
having rx vega 56 rival gtx 1070-ti means "he\s poor" ?
user buys 1.2k $ freesync monitor for his vega card that runs 4k @144hz on oled display means "he's poor" ?
pajeet, relax
Jesus, sensitive much
i'm just checking reactions. nick's defending intel with his "masterrace top of the line logic".
intel? we're talking about gpus here
I'm not elitist
in fact, what's the point of buying top tier hardware if you have no idea how to use it.
i'm in fact in favor of amd on the cpu market at thet moment
gpu market, not so much
not you @rose eagle but nick is elitist.
You're just being controversial and I'm in no mood
I said low end what if I had said mid tier
Would that not have triggered you?
doesnt trigger me at all
if you said low end-i'd understand as you're talking about something as r7 240 vs gt 730 xd
I think sensitive people troll me
To me a 1060 is low end
Is the lowest card that will play V
on ultra 40-60fps yep
On 1080p on low
but reducing settings it gets better
It got like 60 fps 1440p low man lol
my 1080ti was struggling at times on ultr 1440p :c
1080p high/ultra @40-60fps, on 1440p it might be low.
From reports and beta to release will only get like +10%
due to higher resolutions textures to render.
60 fps is a minimum acceptable framerate
Ever for an fps
I got 50-80 in beta and it was horrific
ur just an elitist bro

AMD sucks!
i can tell nvidia sucks. where i l ive gtx 1050 ti 4gb strix costs the same as amd rx 570 4gb mini or pulse one 4gb
π
just because it's "asus strix"
rx 580 8gb strix goes for 400euros, the sapphire nitro+ limited edition for 330~ euros,. for 400+eur i can get 1070 from zotac amp core one
I'm mad at AMD for not competing well enough to let Nvidia get away with this
Does anyone know how to decode Morse code for the battlefield one Easter egg
Wtf lol
basically-asus is the problem for reasonable prices here. and nvidia is just even more idiotic under this brand
1060 should be $230 USD
the gpu market is fucked atm, not entirely nvidia's fault
well nvidia is advertised here as "God brand"
AMD equiv is $180
thats why some castrated 1050ti costs about 220euros
and rx 570 4gb mini/pulse goes for 180-210eur
I remember the good old days where ATI released their radeon 9700pro
while gtx 1060 3gb ~240euros and 6gb 280-to 430euros.
sadly, that's no longer the case
@unborn epoch you know the feeling when some shitty brand keeps prices ruined?
game less, work more, buy better graphics card
just because of that reason amd and nvidia cards prices aren't adequate.
look
rx 570 pulse/mini itx for htcp's-180-210eur. strix one gtx 1050ti ~220eur
also where the hell are the micro led monitors man, OLED is ass
gtx 1060 3gbnot asus or strix-240-290eur, 6gb 280-430eur(strix prices at 430s) as rx 580 8gb strix(gtx 1070 price tag).
pretty sure the 570 is more powerhungry and noisier
which fucks up market
gtx 580 8gb i got on stock eats 90-130W on load mostly
max 140-190W without ocing. which is reasonable.
card's average noise is about 35Db's) .
You seem pretty hung up on amd
nvidia has exactly the same or very similar noise level.
Would you ever buy an Nvidia card if the price was identical?
well i just hate the country i live in marketshare "asus the god", asus sticker adds +1000fps
depending on situation yeh
if i could get for 260euros brand new 1070 as i got my 580 8gb
i would.
then i resell, buy again and get 1080 for example or vega+ better monitor?
I'm mad amd or someone doesn't have anything worthwhile to upgrade my 3770K
The 2700x is no better
if you're just gaming 3770k is just as good. but if you multitask 2700x might be better choice
for streaming and multitasking 2700x is also better especially after oc.
i went from a c2quad 9500 to a 7700K
p ractical people goes threadripper.
Nah never stream I'm old lol
tbh, streaming shouldn't even be done on the same machine
intel X-pure performance, practical choice: ryzen epyc-threadripper.
get a 2nd pc for that
Min fps is where I'm still unsure if I'm having problems but I game at 1440p so it's more gpu
I guess I should be happy I can keep my entire rig for 8 years lol
on both situations you get screwed up and forced to built custom loop rig to cool down these monstrosities.
the problem is the cheats I know you use
I'm just mad I can't get a 970 evo
that kills your game performance
im still using KODI
I wish I could test minimum fps results and graph it for V
ohhh you still here. excuse but returning watch the stream.
Mhmm I got a 2070 showing up and want to see if I can prove my old cpu causes any issues
if I don't get 2:1+ kdr i'm blaming my fps
you should
He's a scapegoat for literally everything
Why have a kid if you can't abuse that
Wife, kid broke PC I need a 9700K
You could just do it simultaneous
i can't multitask for shit
Get an i7
can't even sing in the shower and clean myself at the same time
We need a system that lets you pick parts and replace them to simulate performance changes
Why the hell doesn't this exist
Servers that can spin up fps tests remotely and match configurations. I'm sure a 1080Ti can simply be clocked down to exactly simulate a 1060 etc π
Someone get on it
breathes in
fuck off with that bullshit
and you really think you of all people would be able to ping the whole damn server
the hell do you think you're playing for fools here
lol
fucking hell idiotic shit like that irks me
aaaand now my statement lacks context :v
don't play dumb
Lmao

Lol my friend thought his pc ran out of thermal paste
But
When he checked his cpu was just loose

How often you have to replace that crap
I just had stock on my 3770k for 6 years
I don't think I ever kept a cpu long enough to need to change the paste
i changed cpu fan recently after having computer for 2 years
basically all the thermal paste was gone, was "stock paste" though
i reckon that if i had actually bought a good thermal paste it would lasted longer
if you buy quality shit you dont have to replace it for years on end
I'm pretty sure even for gooder stuff like Noctua NTH-1 you should still change it out every couple years
i've ran my q9500 for 6 years, only changed it once (in the first year)
temps never changed much
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEZKNPAzhwA i want this monitor.
because of that 125% srgb and oled.
but it's not oled?
Qled is oled
No, it's not
QLED/QLED/SUPER AMOLED. it's all OLED
hence the different letters
Qled is only marketing name
OLED doesn't have backlight, qled does
like super amoled or retina amoled
mhm
So while it is more color accurate, you're still getting FAR worse contrast then OLED
well for budget monitor isnt bad at all.
I never said it was bad, it's just not in the same league as OLED displays
comparing to TN junkies on the same price tag. i'd pick this VA over a cheapo TN
well nvm
I was gonna say my main monitor is TN
the cheapo one on pricings as this one, they became avoidable like plague.
i use TN;s also.
It's got better color reproduction then my IPS
but thinking to change that to smth other as main
ips masterrace
this samsung monitor is reference
can't wait for microled monitors
MicroLED will be amazing
i never use full backlight on my monitors. so they can last me a while
also it's better for eyes, doesnt get tired as much.
That's why I use flux\
i keep light reduced to 40% or 50%
Bit of a suggestion on this one, Could you add a patch notes tab so we can see through the patches for battlefield 5, people will take this for reference when trying to find patch notes or history of patch notes.
@flint locust Could you consider that mate? Thanks in advance
not idle lul
he's hiding
That will go in #game-news when there are patchnotes to be posted
for some odd reason it wasn't displaying my friend streaming a few hours ago so herp
Anyone have it looked at the Corsair 470x/570x case? Should probably replace mine some day. Back mounted drives sound nice
they are pretty decent cases
mine is from 2000 era and full tower with no top fans and only 1 intake at the bottom
2 out
so im sure anything would be better
lol pretty much
hey you never know, full tower all metal!
I mean it's not going anywhere and I bet it wouldn't let me oc my components any more lol
So why spend $150
If I plan on upgrading my entire rig next year I might look for amazing deals on black Friday for case and power supply to spread the spending
i made a reverse card emblem for bf4
Meshify c and the mini are great cases
u wanna see?
Sure
Ok, but next time post on another channel since this is just text
ok
Looks good
thanks
1st gen i5 master race no need to delid my cpu like a pleb
most people prob dont realize i5 min fps problems
No no no
Problems can't ketchup if you go fast!
So overclock away! Remove the chip! Delidded friendos gets more overclock in headroom thanks to lowered load temperatures
Anyways yea
Was with an 4690k, got it to a sweet mild OC of 4.4ghz
I often play battlefield 4, CPU load often hits near 100%, once it peaks, causes frame time to fuck up and there comes the lag
On dis 4770k, oh boy
Recording OBS & playing battlefield with CPU load averaging 60 to 70%
i7 masterrace
I got a 6700k
stock clocks
Fast enough for what I doobledo
I really want a nice Threadripper
Is there a significant difference between an i7 6700 and a i7 6700k
using i5 4590 with h97 micro atx mobo. thinking get second hand i7 4770/4790-k.
not enough for battlefield1/GTAV online π
@floral elbow only unlocked multiplier for ocing. if you're not wiling to oc-avoid it. and anyways you can always find cheaper a better i7 older gen cpu. i7 5820k/5930k used might be a better choice than getting the newer 6700-k.
@prime raptor i7 is a marketing scheme that means nothing (thanks 9th gen)
Threadripper is generally not worth the cost for most people, get a 2700x and call it a day
for battlefield v, what is best? 6 cores / 12 threads or 8 cores /8 threads?

7700k 5ghz masterreace
@plush smelt 8700k / 9700k
both same performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gjye0DFVwY
amd's easy way for multi tasking and streaming-some fps less in games but it's not a huge difference.
6-7th gen cpus i7 are pointless bc theyre bloody pricy-you rather get an older 4th gen i7 or go broadwell/hasswell-E on x99
8-9th gen i7's pretty much matches hexa core x99 5820k/5930k in terms of perf. but the older generation costs also reasonably cheaper(the cooling requires as much investments though).
3rd gen to 8th gen chips are π©
intel uses π© for their IHS, hence the awful thermals you see even when you slap a dual tower HSF or dual rad aio to ur shiny new intel cpu
7980XE got mayonaise under the IHS π©
what cases everyone sporting? mine is from 2000 full tower with a single 80mm intake and 2 out the rear.. might be time to rip the bays out and put 2 more intakes in or just buy a new one
considering just getting a few 3.5 conversion bays and putting all 3 drives up in the top lol
lol how do they do these exact split tests
i mean, the problem with any of this conspiracy theorizing is that nvidia has zero room to ever lose any performance even if they increased visuals
dual boot os for example or XDD?
using a server board for pc to run run amd and nvidia gpus at the same time on diff monitors?
with gaming board it wouldnt work to test so well-due to pci-e 1st slot beeing x16 and secondary x8.
the problem with tech today is the freesync and gsync, pretty much locked us to a technology
even if AMD released a high end card for $500 with exact perf as 2070 im stuck with nvidia
@rose eagle stuck with tech@freesync's more affordable.
so.. just took off my front intake fan, only a single 80mm and it was 99.99% caked shut
vacuum would not phase it at all, had to take qtips and spin them in circles and pull it through.. worked a treat fyi π
for the case i run NZXT S340.
i saw that one, seemed pretty solid compared to the 470x Corsair
was also looking at the lian li 011air
3 in, 1 out, 1 up?
mine has 1 in, 2 out and nothing else so im sure i can get some better air flow in this thing and the biggest thing im looking for is to remove the HDD bays. The rear mounted HD setups look nice.
470X/460X corsair isnt made for airflow(air cooled set ups). it's for aios and custom loops.
nzxt noctis or phantom series are better for airflow. or cooler master HAF(&some of cosmos cases).
if you're wiling to make a custom loop(custom open watercooling loop) set up you're good to go for 470/460X case or similar. for air cooled rigs-just don't.
What the hell, why doesn't 2070 support 144hz to 1440p over HDMI?
or even 1080
HDMI 2 supposedly can but the specs on the 2070 im looking at don't support it
I can upgrade my intel g4560 to a used i7 6700 for $90, but I probably wont be able to upgrade again for at least a year
Do you think a 6700 is good enough to run bfv at 1080p 60fps (paired with 1050ti)
Or should I not even bother with the 6700 and just get a 8700k
6700 is surely enough to get 60fps in bf1 ...
the 1050ti might be cutting it
but ouch never heard of that 4560, 2c4t? yea that might tank, can you even play Bf1?
Yeah bf1 runs great on the g4560 1050ti setup
have you benched the min/max?
That shows its performance in bf1
But the cpu definitely needs an upgrade for bfv
thats really shocking
Yeah the g4560 is incredibly underrated
i mean 2 cores lol
i thought my old ass 3770k 4c8t was aging
not sure if theres new tech in that cpu that makes it that much better or what
mine is from 2012
you can expect around a 20% drop in frames in V
I think im gonna go with the used i7 6700 for $90
that your budget?
That price cant be beat
I could spend more but its an offer from a friend thats too good to pass up
60fps is good enough for me
just not sure you'll get a ton better fps but yea, 1080 is def CPU dependent
at that level the AMD cards are insanely better price perf
gpu's
ill prob end up ditching my 970 for $100
I got a 980ti
And looking to upgrade me cpu
Ima gona get a 2700x with asus rog x470-f moba
I got the fx-8350 right now
yea them non HT cpu's take a shit on the min FPS side
unless it's at least 6c6t
you may not get a lot of higher end fps but it should stop all the hard drops
Dumb question: Are there usually any deals for cpus during Black Friday?
The 8350 bottlenecks my 980ti so u probably get some bottlenecking also
The 8350 came out in 2012 if im right
@plain vessel
The 2700x blowz it out of the water
But if your looking to oc it @plain vessel i hear the 2700 is better for it then the 2700x
Im gona wait for black friday /cyber Monday @plain vessel to see if i can get cheap
I can play bfv right now with what i got so ill wait
I just cant wait for the 9th tho
Ill say wait also @plain vessel
i feel like Battlefront 2 is a good judge of FPS for V
64 avg, vomit
i dont recall gaming at this horrible of FPS in Battlefront 2
i guess that's accurate... Tom's hardware has a 970gtx at 43 on ultra
dont bother aiming for ultra settings in bf guys, just saying
thats on low everything for visibility except for textures and mesh lol
1440p tho
i got like 50-80 in V beta
i guess BFront 2 runs about on par with it
Don't run settings at ultra?
55fps 1 % time, that aint gonna cut it!
I run my settings in bf1 at ultra.
i want my 1% to be at 90
there's a tiny difference visually and performance impact is big
yea its nothing, but i said my settings are lowest
what res what gpu?
and 1440p
1440p 1080ti
970!
ur 1080ti is hax
there are definitely situations where i dip below 100 on ultra in bf1
idk then
even if i had a 1080Ti id still run mesh/terrain qual ultra but everything off and low
I'm not paying attention to the FPS all teh time
But when I look its in teh range of 100-120
i easily notice dips from 120 to 80, it's annoying
download Fraps and set it to run a 30 sec bench and then download FRAFS and drop the file on it
I have a gsync monitor
you'll get a pretty spitout
you notice 120 to 80 eh?
if you don't, lucky you
i noticed 90 to 60 but i have never had above that so π
surely 90 to 60 is worse than 120 to 80
I mean I went from a 750ti to my 1080ti
So...really as long as its better then that
yea im going from a 970 to 2070
just get a 1080ti?
fk used
They're still gonna be making them new?
no
getting 1080ti for cheap is no longer a thing
prices only going up
yea you can really only get a 1070Ti
i got mine for dirt cheap, it's not fair
I mean that's like $60 off msrp for my card
yea $650 was a "steal" for a 1080Ti the 1 week they were on sale lol
gpu market has been messed up for a year unfortuantely
still hasn't really fixed itself, nvidia and amd aren't really helping
cheapest one ive seen in a while
in stock
$500 vs $738
just get a 1080Ti def not in the cards lol
2070 is 500?
I mean that's what all the factory OC cards are
Plus you're getting a better cooler
1080 are down to $480 lol
let me spend $20 less for a 1080, ok!
0-10% less perf and no potential for DLSS ever
sounds good video card market
hands got tied.. i had to get something
only buy if you have a nice chance of buying for cheap
or you have many millions of currencies in your wallet
i have a 970 and i need 1440p 100fps
I wish I had teh cash for another 1080ti
i mean i knew it was shit but to put a # on it hurts
yea sli is always inferior to new tech
just keep throwing your $1000 a year at the latest card π
2 SLI isnt 2x perf
you get what... maybe 30% more in games that support it? =/
so you'd spend $1200 on 2 1080Ti over 2080Ti?
if the 2080Ti had better perf?
than sli 1080Ti
I can buy like 16gb of ram for 1k
lul
wtf? lol
16GB of ram is like $80
we live in a fucked up world
what are you on
$150 π
It was a joke people
but yea
and last I checked 16gb of ram was over $100
where's the gosh darn 1TB 3d stacked ram that was promised
fucking computer builds are always like exactly $1000
cause all components go up others come down
I wish 16gb of ram was $80
you can never just get an all around good deal
I'd have 32 then.
it was over a year ago x_x
It was when I built this compkuter
blob:https://imgur.com/cb3658ce-ecaf-4608-b7d9-7edd184025c1 look at this
uhhhh
whoops
I built my system when skylake came out
https://i.imgur.com/24vpM61.jpg this is what I wanted to link
Sometime in 2016 iirc
had this sitting at home for a year before I finished it
he's 5 so im waiting for his lego smashing and throwing phase to end first.......
watching them explode is his favorite
i don't need kids to enjoy legos
once you have kids everything you enjoy gets the life sucked out of it so then you have to live through them
since you have zero time to yourself
yeah, maybe later
i still have about 5 years before I have to look for younger women
lol
which i'm not a fan of
ya, my mistake. I ain't have to do a damn thing
Go marry some doe eyed 18 year old fresh out of highshcool.
she'll cry over my lego ATAT walker
none of this fixes my shock at low Battlefront 2 FPS
i swear it wasnt 60 when i bought the game
you think the theory of nvidia slowly killing off old tech is true eh? π
def probs
Apple actually does do it
every update my iphone becomes a bigger turd! good marketing
its to increased uptime
i mean why support older tech and make newer people suffer
makes sense
tbh, it's hard to code for older tech and new
id always code to sacrifice the old shit first
i cant guarantee you new driver updates to make 20xx better is 110% intentionally directed at making previous shit
i do game development and phasing out older hardware is hard to work around due to shaders etc
for fun?
luckily theres less and less changes year to year lately
its for profit share but not just for fun
super basic 2d stuff
unless we make a ton of money and can afford to pay someone, lol
There's a bit of hope somewhere I end up making games in the future.
i coded this dooder https://store.steampowered.com/app/280320/Adventurer_Manager/
100% profit sharing gets you only so far π
i'd say it doesn't look bat at all
we're very fortunate to have that for a %
haha

How did you guys make this ifI may ask
with computers
any existing engines like unity?
this FPS readout of battlefront 2 looks pretty stable eh?
im curious what ye good ole 1080Ti looks like
i don't own bf2 ;c
you guys both jump around 40fps jumps with 1080Ti in Frostbite engine games?
in bf1 i do on ultra settings ya
you noticed you jump around 120 to 80?
ya
7700k
ok so its most likely not my cpu
im just trying to determine if FPS jumping around so wildly is possibly CPU
ive got an old 3770k but 1440p doesnt require nearly as much CPU
are you hitting gpu memory limit?
