I use my phone for communication
ill agree the older iphones
But mostly Reddit and Discord lmao
was for the non techies
would take yrs to make me fully believe that
well thats up to you ๐
^^
i dont feel limited at all
and thats from coming from a note 9
where i could do anything i want
I need a Re๐ ฑ๏ธair man
What do you ๐ ฑ๏ธean?
A new challenger approaches
1+ phones are awesome tbh ๐
Still on the 5T, very good for what I need it for
Specs : OnePlus 6 is better than X
Camera : X is better than OnePlus 6
Speed : Both sail on the same boat
Specs matter to me the most cuz if I wanted good pictures I'd use my actual camera
โต
But I'm talking to a high likely to be no clue apple fanboy so I'm not even going to try
That said, if you get the iPhone you're stuck with iOS
It's one of the main reasons I can't touch iPhones anymore
that rumored notch looks decent too
i could get the 6 but i want fringerprint in front
fingerprint and headphone jack mean that the iphone 6s is still the best most convenient iphone there is
yeah i love that tear drop notch
neato
buttt why drop the headphone jack man
i cant go: "PASS ME THE AUX CABLE, I GOT MAD TUNES TO PLAY"
u just switch to say:
can I pair my device with your Bluetooth Speaker?
I mean it doesnt sound that awsom to "pair my device i got mad tunes to play"
So i'm going to buy a cpu fan for my I 5 6400 which is the http://www.cryorig.com/c7.php and along with that the case fans which will be https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Fans/ml-config/p/CO-9050074-WW
The CORSAIR LL140 RGB LED PWM fan boasts 16 independent RGB LEDs across two separate light loops to create vibrant lighting and visual effects. Compatible with CORSAIR iCUE
good buy or nah?
I don't really know much about fans
lmao
cuz i usually just do water cooling and plop some case fans on it
but that isn't the case rn
Look at noise (which is at max speed) and airflow
But generally noise since case fans almost always run at like 50%
and airflow doesn't change much past a point
@dim knoll Speed means very little anymore
The general user runs power saving that reduces CPU speed anyway, and Moore's Law is starting to end and CPU speeds haven't got much faster
Efficiency > Speed any day for me
Generally any flagship phone will have about an equal CPU
Although once phones start to move to a 7nm node that will be interesting for efficiency
@dim knoll their ML variants are OP https://www.corsair.com/us/en/LED-Color/ml-pro-rgb-config/p/CO-9050078-WW
The CORSAIR ML140 PRO RGB PWM fan combines unrivaled performance and low noise operation, by utilizing magnetic levitation bearing technology, with vibrant RGB lighting controlled in CORSAIR iCUE software. Compatible with CORSAIR iCUE
motor noise is non existent
@steep gust the jump from 20nm to 14nm was huge
battery life was no longer about how many times do i have to plug in per day
it became how many hours i can get
and yeah another die shrink will be interesting
we already went from 14nm to 10nm recently
Yeah, i just saw that the C7 makes alot of noise
Also, can i hook corsair leds and rgb fans up in my pc without having to buy that sixty dollar commander thing
Curious, why a top down cooler? Are you on a space constrained MATX build or something? @dim knoll
ITX
it's pretty small
hold on ill give you the motherboard number
Gigabyte GA-B150-HD3P
this one is sick though "Cooler Master MAM-G1CN-924PC-R1 MasterAir G100M"
I've heard people say it makes a ringing noise after some weeks of usage
Mine haven't
Tfw PC case arrives last
You don't need a case, just put it all together on your desk
@quaint topaz just build it already and then put everything in the case
oh
i thought it was your first

I remember making my first pc, put too much thermal compound on cpu
and yeah
leaked out from the sides
Darn, please tell me you got non-conductive stuff
Should I use Corsair stock thermal compound or should I use the one that came with my noctua cooler
Isn't that beautiful
@quaint topaz i used the stock paste cause i was too lazy to take it off, i have good paste that i will put on whenever i need to change it
been fine, no issues so far with temps
Cable management will be way easier with that new case
wtf how
how?
the pic Peter posted.
Thermal grizzly does decent thermal compounds as well
shhhh
Just don't use Conductonaut or another liquid metal as a thermal compound since it will destroy aluminum quickly
And it will damage nickel / copper heatsinks over time
If you aren't pushing overclocks I'd say Artic Silver 5 is fine
Even if overclocking I wouldn't say it's bad
I've overclocked my 1060 several times on it
and it still runs really good
and temps stay cool
nevermind I'm stupid
LOL
I just facepalmed so hard

What I meant to say was that my 8700K has liquid cooling and I've tested overclocks on it and it does fine
Did you at least delid
You realize overclocking voids your warranty?
Welp
but
Wait no it doesn't for the K series?
Yes it does unless you buy the overclocking warranty
Intel
No. While we will, under the Plan, replace an eligible processor that fails while running outside of Intelโs specifications, we will not provide any assistance with configuration, data recovery, failure of associated parts, or any other activities or issues associated with the processor or system resulting from overclocking or otherwise running outside of Intelโs published specifications.
Yeah that means if the overclocking somehow corrupts the processor
or makes it fail
But they replace overclocked CPUs that died anyways
Since its hard to tell
Not in general
Unless you pump like 1.7v into your CPU and fry it outright you should be fine
but if you have VRMs that can handle that kind of CPU voltage, I'd hope you know what you are doing
I'm thought about replacing the paste on my 1080 but GPU overclocking is annoying
that and I don't have temperature problems
I hit voltage / power limits
Ah
I don't have any temperature problems. My temps are actually really good
My CPU idles around 28 celsius, and the max it's hit while under load is 55 celsius.
I plan to buy a 9th gen CPU with a hopeful solder TIM
then I should be fine
I just bought the 8700k in July so I'm not upgrading for a while lmao
Although, I am upgrading my GPU. I just bought a 1080 Ti :^)
I'm super excited about
Well I'm hoping around Cyber Monday to get either a 2K IPS or a 4K IPS monitor
Which ever is in the price range at the time
1440p 144hz is my dream
Hopefully RTX falls
I might buy in once the prices become actually reasonable
It kinda already is failing tbh
The reviews and benchmarks were worse than expected
the 1080 Ti is only about 4% slower than the 2080 and much cheaper
benchmarks are fine
Its the price
we aren't getting Maxwell -> Pascal level gains every generation without competition from AMD
Well I mean Nvidia claimed that it was faster than the 10 series alone. The 2080 was supposed to be "50% faster than the 1080 Ti"
Yet it's only 4% faster XD
It is
depending on the benchmark
They were claiming ray tracing performance for those numbers
Well yeah, it did better in 4K and overall rendering for sure, but that in my eyes would just make it a rendering card
@prime jasper "50% faster". But did they say that in normal rasterization. They could mean DLSS
Shady phrases
It was literally in ray tracing applications
Give me about $60 and I will
Since I'm not doing it with a razorblade and I need liquid metal
guys ?
need a little help
so i have a GTX 960M which runs bf1 on 50-60 FPS and i was playing with this fps till all of a sudden it dropped to below 20 on all the maps
oh actually nvm
i fixed it
anyone grab a 2080ti?
I want so badly
Nah Imma wait as I already have a 1080 ti so itโs not worth it at all
guys my problem is back
last night i updated my graphic card and it worked out
buuut now its back to 20 fps
low / medium / high / ultra all the same fps
@everyone ?
if i put the charger it used to work out but now with it or without it same fps
Is your energy profile on high performance everywhere ?
i think so cuz all the games are working fine except bf1
Whats yo processor
GTX 960M
cause thats how i can make the game look good with 60 fps
it just suddenly dropped to 20
even on low
no solution ?
wait i remember it was off hold on
nope it wasnt the problem
any other solutions ?
@tulip bluff effects quality on high
i told you that even if everything on low it is the same
ok heres my ALLinONE solution for you:
Buy a desktop if you are a real gamer
But yeah back to the problem. I have a desktop and on my old machine. it happened to me 3 times that after an update I loose 10-20 fps
i didnt buy a desktop cuz iam taking my laptop everywhere
so i had 70-100 and 3 updates later i was down to 30-50 without changing ANYTHING
and my specs were way over the minimum
guys its not about the laptop
an Alienware laptop
cuz i was freaking playing in 60 fps yesterday
alienware do overheat ?! dont they?
i know the feel medyan
and tbh i tried to fix it. but there was no fix
how !
even tweaked the settings with a custom config
youre telling me i bought bf1 for nothing ?
i went trought all the tips to make to more performant but yeah I didnt got it back to the old state
my solution was to buy a 2300 desktop which i build custom for me. now all can kiss my bootyhole ๐
and dare god I get even a single lag on this machine now
yesterday i had the same problem so i opened my nvidia geforce app and i updated it and it worked out
Try
what you mean revert my gpu ?
noooooooo
its a laptop how should he achieve that ๐
i meant reinstall an older GPU driver and check "clean" install
okay
go download folder
grab one of the older ones
and make it fresh install
did you installed ANYTHING
!?
which could have changed something in your energy profile?
check your energy profile if its set to max on ANY of the advanced settings
okay hold on
check your profile and the advanced settings
set them to 100%
i use lower profile because i got a beast machine
why your windows is in gibberish?
because iam german
are you sure i should put them on 100% isnt it dangerous and it will overheat my pc ?
my old laptop overheats in world of tanks so i put and ice bag under my laptop
im serious
i remember i watched a video a year ago and it said its dangerous so i didnt put it on 100% XD
xD
he has a lptop and set it to 75%
ouch
i would set it to 125% if that was possible
xD
100% pls NOW
okay okay XD
oh okay
cooling policy on max
or perfomant
or high
or active
check also if "wireles adapter" is on maximum
then scroll down
last settings
ope
go for max performance there
if you see ANYWHERE "power saving or smth" change it to maximum
is this multi media setting ?
yes
okay
okay what about it ?
okay done
okay then reboot and try bf1 and give feedback
okay
after reboot check if the old changes are all active. just to make sure
iam sorry i didnt know XD
@royal otter how are your temps on both gpu & cpu? Apologises i missed it, as Ive only scanned through the texts

XD
well on the map i was playing it was 40 it was only in that map but everything else is 50-60 fps
better than 20 fps
Which fans do you recommend for the radiator? (replacing the ones that come with the Corsair H115i pro)
RGB ones
would be useless for my case
ok what about exhaust
Do you have exhaust fans already?
Just unplug the 3pin to molex connector and use your motherboard fan headers
They aren't the quietness or best airflow, but they work
Generally you want quietness over airflow for case fans since more air does very little past a point ๐คท
I don't care about quietness.
i mean, shouldn't get as loud as my GPU when I bump my fan speed to 100 (3 fan shroud)
GPU fans only hit like 60% with the default fan curves
I would just plug the fans into your motherboard and not your PSU
and you should be fine
pic
give me a minute to download discord on my phone
aight
Shame that black and red was the cheapest components at the time. But I'll be replacing the motherboard, ram, and heatsink hopefully in the next few months
My goal would be
Asus Maximus X
Trident Z RGB
Meshify C
and maybe a H115i Pro
@quaint topaz doesnt the h115i come with ML fans?
i decided to keep mine. I wanted to change them to LL fans (the full RGB ones) from corsair. but the ML are great
a shame there is no full RGB on ML yet
sweet
i shot me another 3x ML fans for 20 bucks total
and mounted 6 fans to my h150i
so you have hardcore negative air pressure?
yes
i pull cold air with another fan from bottom
i will try the front swap soon.
but my cpu gets beasty hot when its oc'd
thats why i dont pull front in
You want to try a balanced fan layout leaning towards positive air pressure
and your GPU gets even hotter than your CPU
It needs air and not just recycling the air due to vertical mounts, oh and VRMs need to stay cool
7820x can get BBQ hot
i got a 140 fan in bottom pulling fesh air in . and my PSU sucks a bit of the GPU away and pushes it out
gpu heat is separated from motherboard which is quite a + in my eyes
Only 1 intake?

I would use the Radiator fans for intake, plus the bottom one
rest for exhaust
^
don't worry about the fact your CPU gets hot and it'll blow air over your GPU
It changes very little and you just need airflow over your GPU to keep it from recycling the same air
You have very little cold air coming in, which is bad for the GPU since it's air cooled

You want airflow over parts not just getting hot air away from them
^
4 intake 4 exhaust will be balanced
Maybe have a few intakes be 140mm for postive air pressure while not overpowering the exhaust fans
Timestamps: Price list - 1:58 | Build done - 13:00 | Overclock and benchmarks - 13:30 HardwareCanucks' video on i7-2600k vs i7-8700k: https://youtu.be/gMFd0a...
I7 2600 still able to perform
You are telling me a 4c 8t CPU still performs well in games designed around 4c CPUs
The older CPU's are going to have issues with battlefield though, due to the physics
Bought my 6600K for the same amount of an 8700k two years ago
RIP
๐ I bought a i7 6700k
and then the 6 core 12 thread 8700k cpu comes out at about $30 more which can still run windows 7 with some work
not the worst purchase of my computer life, that would be an ati all in wonder x1900 for $200
Jeg ikke snakke tysk
2199 Demark ~ 1100 euro
pioneer
quad speed
cd-rom-laufwerk
windows 95, fuck me i remember that windows
had some problem. bought way to small case
fractal dont say that you can not mount ANY Hdd in the meshify case. when ran with a 360 radiator
no space
lol
doesnt the cage slide?
You have to remove the HDD cage to install a 360 rad
anyone with eyes could tell you that
the HHD cage on the bottom slides though
yeah slides not enough
x.x
fans would fit but not rad n fans
yeah sorry Predator i was a bit rusty didnt build one for 5 years
and the manufracturer described it badly.
if you got a small psu or got crazy with cable management MAYBE you could fit it?
yeah. but i had to fit an 1200w psu in it
ah
everywhere was just like 3-5cm missing
anyway. i bought the Define R6 Blackout then
ahh, that sucks, meshify is a sexy case
i have the define c, wish i knew meshify was coming out
wish I knew about the meshify when I first build my PC
but I didn't worry about cases when building
r i p
i really like it. but my build was way to big for it
yeah I'll just do a 240mm rad and top mount it
i was trying to sell my case to get the meshify xD
lol nice
He doesn't care about looks and I do now
yea ill be looking to "pawn" off my parts too

lol i didnt at first either
also because he is scared of building a PC and the other first time worries
just bought the cheapest everything as long as it performed
so having parts that I know work is good
and now its color coordinated and extra
Also helps because I have mildly binned the RAM so he gets free performance
I set them to run at 3200mhz from 3000mhz since they are samsung bdie
muh binning
I'd love to get a Maximus X Formula but that is out of budget and I don't plan to do a custom loop for awhile
Depends
Hard-line is a lot of work
but soft tubing isn't terrible since you can remove the parts you want and hell remove the whole loop from the system without disconnecting it
I'm looking to get one of those alphacool semi-custom loops with the quick release valves for a 2080ti setup
Should be a lot easier than hardline
๐
ah that sucks
bf1 someone?
@steep gust M8. Buy the same case as me xD
Super big xD
@quaint topaz what case did u order?
s340 elite
jesus christo
Well. I have 9 spots to fill it up with space
I only have SSD's in my PC
we get it you have a job
Who?
MTC.
Aha. Cause SSDs expensive AF
Meh not that bad
have a 1tb, 500gb and 240gb m.2 drive
Might go for the cheap WD Blue SSDs
Buy me 100x10 TB HDD and a big server storage so i can have a Petabyte storage
Black friday
Plus 2 older 240GB drives that aren't plugged in.
you dont have to buy samsung ssd to notice the difference
just wait for ssd sales, samsung ssds go on sale through newegg for 95 bucks for 500gb
mx 500 ive seen on sale for 85
I have samsung and corsair drives, no problems with either
from what i recall some m.2 formats dont take advantage of the slot speed, they run at normal sata speeds, just fit the format
yea so you can recover what data i used to have on it
I used a drill on my old mechanical hard drives before getting rid of them
Ended up with this board.
https://static.gigabyte.com/Product/2/6417/2017101610211063_big.gif
fancy
i hate when rgb is weak on certain colors
if it's RGB it's bad at doing white light
rgb increases performance
Especially if red.
haha the fucking spoiler
+4 fps
Went for this. Air coolers are ugly af
Especially Noctua.
I have a Noctua NH-d14 and this thing is ugly af. But it performs very well.
my nvidia usb gives me more fps in game its great
yea i got an AIO just because i didnt like how big fan coolers are
too much work
just do the fish tank pc method
mineral oil lmao, would be a bitch to replace anything
Imagine if the thing cracks and starts leaking.
I worked with mineral oil before
shit doesn't get off the floor
nor your hands
yea i would never do that
crazy people
At least it would be 100% silent in the liquid
time to hook a second lan cable from my router
Reminds me of a Raspberry Pi. lol
DOUBLE THE SPEED
True
Yeah that is how ethernet works pretty much
@quaint topaz I plan to buy an H100i Pro since the 280mm one won't fit with my GPU in the meshify C
Also red RGBs makes it faster
did I hear meshify C? ๐
yeah I ordered the last white one amazon had
yeah you could find benchmarks
It performs generally 30% or so better than a 1080ti IIRC at like +70% the cost
Yea I see something showing 59 vs 87 for bf1
But I don't trust anything online yet
Seems like $500 would be much better spent on a 1080ti when they drop that low opposed to a 2070
Old trusty tech seems safer than whatever they just released
A 2070 for rtx if it ever becomes mainstream will be crap fps
So they may as well only put rtx in 2080ti
And then release all others without, cheaper
Pascsal -> RTX
Is just living off a hype train, a glorified lighting engine, and a slight performance jump
to be fair, nvidia has had no competition
atleast on the high end, amd has a lot of catching up to do still
this is exactly what happened with Intel. Minor performance bumps for years on the same 4c 4t layout until Ryzen stepped in
and yet, no one buys amd
Ryzen begs to differ but okay
competition is healthy, and it brings out the best products from both companies. Without it we get the same recycled BS year after year
Rzyen is gaining large amounts of market share
Only Intel fanboys would realize that AMD is helping the market not harming it
@storm osprey i have amd
case is here bois
Same case as mine
not when the postguy doesnt want them to
gonna pay the postman to throw your stuff down a flight of stairs
Excellent idea
no u
no u turns
Did you get a puck with that s340?
You can get it like everywhere
puck? explain?
This episode of Ask GN features a surprise from NZXT, downhill mountain biking, and lots of thermal/temperature questions in the air & liquid cooling departm...
That's the Puck
Well, not really, but it explains the somewhat interesting reputation it has
Oh, they made a playlist for it
@lofty light
Ayyyyyy
The case is much smaller IRL
im wondering if the puck is holding at the DEFINE r6 front
after how long of looking at boxes is the right time to start building the pc?
i would wait at least a day or 2
i have the same ikea plant
@rocky trail i was looking at them lets say 5-7 days
nut
That would hurt my eyes but it's nice
Purple is my favorite color.
nice setup ! .. But we all know true gamers have 2 monitors
Whatchu talkin' about, I have 3
I forgot to end with .... minimum
We all know we need atleast 3 monitors to play minecraft
Lol
@quaint topaz Wait
Black on the box
White in the picture

I don't mind my S340 elite but I want to replace it
It has meh airflow
unless temps are getting close to being bad i wouldnt bother
Bhphotovideo runs some crazy 700w PSU deals sometimes
Combined with 1060/70/80s
$430 for 1070ti looks like today.. still not good enough
Needs to be $350
My stuff still haven't been released by customs. I'm stuck with a PC case only now..

What mouse is it?
The old G602 was my fav mouse but the scroll wheel broke
I have a Razer mouse, don't like it that much
@limber salmon awesome setup
thanks
Yeah I'm not a fan of Razer, possibly the most notorious tech hardware company for their interesting build standards
Want to go for a cleaner setup soon but money is the key
Roccat Kone Xtd optical is my favorite, bought 4 for reserve of them just for sure
I have all Razer stuff, would swap to Corsair or Logitech if I could
Razer does decent keyboards ๐ค but thatโs pretty much the only razer product i have
I have the Blackwidow Chroma
sameee!
the arm rest that comes with it is made in heaven
so good
i tried using my keyboard without it once and i just can't
Agreed, it's really nice ๐
I like Corsair's K70 keyboard tho, with the white caps ๐
i love corsair k70 with the keycap set of the cherry MX6.0
because of the lowered keycaps
- i use damper rings
i wrote cherry that i own a keyboard and my keycaps were broken. so they send me free replacement from a dead device
xD
that how i create the PURRFECT keyboard
K70 with lowered damped caps
โค
- i kept the resale price high with that. because i could offer "never used original keycaps"
so i sold the k70 once for 15 bucks difference and got me the new k70 LUX rgb
because the new LUX version has a better RGB controller
The K70 looks really nice ๐
left is corsair original crapkeycaps
right is sturdy cherry mx6.0 keyboard keycaps
the color different is only visible with the flash
Does your g502 rattle? @limber salmon
nope
Reeeee
The 2080ti still isn't back in stock and it's the 27th
@agile rain damn, last year i got a 1060 for those prices

ikea desks ftw
someone please help me
returning my acer ed273 coz its a flickery piece of shit on amd cards
need something new, but im not having a good time searching
needs 144hz freesync, at least 24 in, prefer curved but doesnt have to be and have a budget of ยฃ220
cheers
bestbang for buck 24" 1080p 144hz monitor is the acer gn246hl
i had it, like 4 of my other friends have it
need displayport unfortuantely
yeah im looking for a fs monitor
yeah its not great for monitors
it will at least narrow down results
seems aoc is popular, but i have never tried that brand. i just assume its an off brand kind of thing
acer xf240h seems solid, and has a lot of adjustments
1920x1080 ... hmm ^^
for 220 pounds i dont think hes gonna get a 1440p, 144hz, freesync monitor
i only want 1080p
might have to go for something flat though, theres just nothing decent enough thats curved
imo curved at 24" is kind of a waste
Curved in itself is a waste
the pcpartpicker list shows whats available for 1080p, 144hz, 24"+, freesync monitors
theres really not much options so i would just click the brands youd trust in your price range and see how they stack
ok
the only thing pcpartpicker lacks is reviews, thats why i just click the links and go to those reviews for amazon or newegg
ok ive found a really good deal on a samsung c27fg73, do i go for 24 inch for ยฃ164 or 27 inch for ยฃ202? at 1080p 24 will be clearer but the curve will be less effective
it has both
im rrunning a 27 1080p rn and it doesnt look bad, but ive never used a 24 inch so i dont know
ive had 1080p in 24 and 27 inches
theres a difference
i currently have a 27" 1440p and 27" 1080p monitors as well
the difference is pretty drastic
the PPI for 24" 1080p isnt that much different compared to 27" 1440p
hmm ok
my preference, 24" is for 1080p, 27" is 1440p
gtx2080 cost 1150$ in my country lol
i dont need, i have gtx 1080
i think im gonna go with the 27 inch over the 23.5 inch cheers lads
27" 1080p has some issues
too pixelated for my taste
suggest me a good 7.1 surround analog headset
i use a sepeerated mic. zoom h2n
so you basically say. get audiophile 7.1 instead of 7.1 gaming ones?
i didnt got your point excatly
7.1 is a sham
theres no headphones (ok there might be 5) that have 7 speakers in them
7.1 is "virtual" surround sound
which means nothing
any audiophile headphones will destroy just about anything "gaming" related
imo best bang for buck headphones are going to be the audio technica ad700x headphones
i use them, and they are phenomenal
ive tried A LOT of other headphones/headsets
hyper clouds, logitechs, turtle beach, sennheiser (really good but fairly expensive)
i play fps competitively as well (was on a grand master team in OW)
Personally I don't feel the need for a separate mic
I'm not recording my voice so who cares so long as peeps can still hear me
700x is 100 max. Get a fifine 669 fr 30 bucks...
Has anyone here ever reinstalled windows 10 through it's own settings app?
Is it worth trying or should I just do it like I've always done it with the media creation tool?
if you mean, you want to reset it to factory, its always better to start fresh
start fresh and copy your settings data and pictures n stuff
UPS never failed me.
(besides taking 5 days to releasing my items from customs and never telling me)
United states
amazon takes care of customs payment.
they charge you upon checkout for import fees
where the fuck did you order it from?! wasnt it available locally?!
2080 and 1080ti trade performance within 1% of eachother
dont get a 2080
drivers could improve the gap, but as of now the price tag isnt worth it at all
But it's totally worth the price hike for the promise of raytracing
i told a person to not pre order these in another channel a month or so ago, so many people got pissed at me
lol what
Don't wanna brag by my 1050ti only crashes once every 10 minutes
its a new world record
2070 has less cudas than a 2080 non ti so i guess we wont be expecting it to beat it
even the 1070ti has more
if 2070 perfs worse than 1070ti that'll be a lolz of the year
The only new card that you can argue for buying is the 2080ti but you're looking at older titan prices
the 2080ti does offer some serious performance, but at a very serious price
i have a 970 atm, i wonder if i could physically fit a 2070 or 2080
case?
yea ive got a 970 atm also
it didnt play beta good enough for me at 1440p but nothing is priced right to upgrade to
1070 non ti lowest price since May 2017
380
@storm osprey Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 Midi Tower
i think it should fit but im not sure tbh
use pcpartpicker
thats a website?
earth
๐ค
Earth 2.0 doesnt have it yet
Bill Gates was in a car accident when he was 12 and all technology is delayed 30 yrs
and will also only suggest parts that are compatible to eachother, including dimensions
Earth 2.0 is doomed
but for some reason your case isnt in pcpartpicker (which is rare that they dont have something)
wow really
what a crappy site!
im disappointed
but i guess i can call the support for it
ehhhhhh
still overpriced but fek
2070 may be worse than a 1070ti lol
at $500, fk that
affected prices since people just went up
1070ti shouldnt, but it does, and its a good deal
cryptocurrency mining price spikes are GONE
Like hardcore gone, most GPUs are below MRSP
1070ti isn't a good deal, pay the slight more and get a 1080
and the 2070 will beat the 1070ti
Much faster memory
Yes it has 100 less CUDA cores, but it has a higher clock speed
That and driver optimization is huge
CUDA cores =/= performance
yes, i recommend you pay the 30$ more and get a 1080
Oh and PCPP isn't perfect for dimensions
Not when the 1070 is at MSRP
actually
the cheapest are 50 dollar increments away from eachother now
so really, they have their place atm
330 for a 1070 is a good deal
cheapest =/= best idea
no, price to performance is the best idea
and cooler
and what you NEED vs want
a lot of cheaper GPUs have shit heatsinks and no VRM contact
you dont get a 1080 for 1080p gaming, thats just a waste
As I have a 1080 for 1080p gaming
ok, thats fine
even at 1080p 144hz you are greatly CPU limited
The armor lineup is kinda shit
I think so
the cheapest i have are evga, which i recommend
I don't recommend brand loyalty for hardware ๐คท
but, the cheapest recommened 1070ti is pretty close to 1080 now, so id rec 1070 or 1080
no, id always recommend doing research and comparing models at the time of purchase
but in scenarios where im not going to do that, i will say that i would initially trust EVGA over other GPUS
true
even if i have personal problems with certain things, i give benefit of the doubt
like ive had 2 bad MSI mb's
but i seem to be the very minority
I have an MSI and it's pretty good, doesn't like overclocking but that's more due to my cooling setup (lets call it... minimalistic)
its commonly on sale for 20 bucks
at least when i used to look
i know that was the price i paid for mine
why the fuck it is so hard to find gaming headset with 10 sounds drivers? like razor tiamat 7.1...
im punishing google but it wont give me results
i just want to have an overview
i know there are more
you mean true surround?
It's just not practical poly, look for good open back headphones
@hushed geyser Don't buy a 7.1 headset
๐ฎ
hmmm at least the target is to get a headset with the best possible ability to locate people exactly
so i thought a "real" signal mean 3-5 drivers per ear would create a more realistic immersion then with only one driver and a digital simulation
nah, you'll be able to locate people exactly with regular stereo headphones as well
Locating people comes down more to the sound engine instead of the headphones used
BFV had a shit sound engine and locating people was fucking hard

@north crow hmmmm. actually i ownvery good dj stereo headphones sennheiser hd25 C II and some plantronics backbeat PRO+ wireless
you mean i need headphones with a proper software for it simulating it `
?!
he means some games don't do a very good job at reproducing sound
in which case it can be hard to locate where sounds are coming from
even on best headphones
yeah that in addition
so i cant turn a stereo headset into a proper gaming headset with a software tool
I mean, stereo headsets are proper gaming headsets
5.1/7.1 headsets are mostly a gimmick
it's not going to give you a big edge (if any) over proper stereo headphones in terms of locating sounds
also, the two headphones you mentioned are both closed back, which generally have a smaller soundstage than open backs
so you might wanna give some open back headphones a try
but look. atm i use stereo and cant tell if a close shooting is front left or back right because of the way where iam looking at
that's not because they're stereo, there's something else at play there
ill look into this open back thing. thank you for the tip
that being said, there are lots of closed back headphones with decent soundstage as well, so I'd look into some headphones and google around for reviews
and see what people say about them
200 euro more on a 8700k then in june 2018 ...
first hdd, then ram, then gpus, now intel cpus, whats coming next?
@hushed geyser not ANY open back headphone is good for gaming, stuff like the very popular sennheiser hd 6 family has a very intimate soundstage that doesnt go great with gaming. audio gets a bit complicated and it also depends on your sound source, ie, soundcard, amp/dac, and their software. to really help we would need a budget and if you are willing to get headphones with a stand alone mic or a headset.
@hushed geyser my current setup at home is Fostex HP-A4 and Beyerdynamic DT 880 / AKG K712 Pro and at work i got a asus xonar essence stx 2 with a ATH M50x / Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro
But as @storm osprey said, we would need a budget to give you the best combination in OUR opinion ๐
you are so kind to me @storm osprey @crude storm @north crow
