i havent played BF1 in a long time and dont recall my 970 running so poorly.. i bought a new monitor since then is the only change but i had to put it on LOW on my 1440p just to get 100fps

sound pretty normal? guess ill be looking for a 1070 on black friday if 11xx dont come out

cpu is sitting around 50-70% so it seems fine

i wish you could adjust settings while it was rendering real time to test FPS impact on certain settings

To be completely fair, this game isn't well optimized for 1440p, My 8700k/1080ti will get maybe 80-90 frames on ultra 1440p. Besides that, you actually want to play the game on lower settings for massive advantages like fog not being as effective and reduced stupid blinding effects

for the exact reason of, even if its pretty youre still blinded by over zealous effects

it used to be far worse, low settings used to never actually show smoke or fog since fog is client based and I think some effects from smoke are too

well the 8700k is a 6 core 12 thread processor with higher clock speeds and is based off the skylake architecture, so...

it it processes things way better and does multithreaded tasks way easier
