ryzen has this issue where you can have two identical sticks of ram but different skus
the wrong sku will cause crashes
then you have to fix in compatibility issues with some mobos and their makers, like gigabyte has major issues of this nature

the placement of the sata wires is weird and i cant connect my hard drive with that gpu

so the misconception about this comes from most thermal testing only being for 20 minutes at max
an aio starts to heat up around an hour or two
while a custom and take days to heat up
now the type of case you get can affect that
but in general use cases, something like an nh-d15 will stomp on an aio because they dont heat up like an aio does

air coolers are massive
and cumbersome
they also dont hit into every case

@prime jasper The low end ones(sub 100) dont have enough power phases for even modest overclocking. You best bet is to look at the 150 range
They start thermal throttling very fast then choke instantly, so if you want to go with a sub $100 board just get a non k 8700
I found one that's normally $110 but on sale for $99
I don't really plan on overclocking too much tbh

I fried 10 boards trying to do the normal 5.0 ghz oc on an 8700k
lot of the issues with it are cooler compatibility, because most tend to bumb a choke randomly and that stunts it
which can turn off the system
but thats honestly a minor complaint since I'm mostly talking about the super high end coolers and custom loops
if youre going for a sub $100 board, then youre not getting a custom loop

hyperthreading doesnt get used it games often
because well only intel supports it
its used in video creation and what not
so unless youre doing a ton of tasks that require a super major multicore and multithread enhancement then 8700k is the go to
if youre just streaming/gaming then the 8600k is perfect
