if you have an nvidia card, shadowplay is probably the easiest thing you can use for shots. Screenshot.render isn't great because you end up with the console in your screenshot.

Fun fact, the take screenshot button in spectator mode for BF5 just runs that command in the background with a few tweaks 😛

Personally I've found Speccy kinda more reliable, not sure why but Shadowplay can sometimes break and refuses to take screenshots etc

Mine breaks for the sake of it, seems to really hate saving screenshots into my Battlefield 1 folder in particular and will only comply reliably if I set it to capturing the desktop

Was testing earlier today, would just stop capturing for some reason and did it again when I restarted everything

yeah shadowplay is faster at taking shots than the thing I added in BF5 I think. Need to make that better in the future.

I forget who told me during the BF5 beta, maybe it was @austere coyote about the delay when taking a screenshot using the spectator mode screenshot button in BF5. I think it was 3 frames in the beta but I got it down to 1 in the final version.

To be fair that's still decent, my issue is reliability. Can be extremely frustrating when Shadowplay just outright fails to capture stuff for seemingly no reason. I still managed get a good decent pictures using the built-in functionality for BF5, with Shadowplay I noticed that 4 games worth of pictures just didn't bother to save

I don't think you can get rid of that center name of the player with the HUD on which is intentional. Yeah we don't really tell you how to hide the HUD anywhere in BF1 which I hated. Should be a lot more obvious in BFV since you can look at what each button does in our help screen.

I did look at the freeze time for several weeks but had to cut it due to technical reasons. It could still happen at some point in the future if we resolve all the technical issues.

when you see a server hit spectate, then in game there is menu that comes up and you can change a whole bunch of settings like the effects, borders, depth of field all that then you wait for the right time and hit p

The big thing if you're on PC is to make sure your graphics card is set to Quality rather than Performance if you're using Nvidia. Not sure how it works with AMD. That setting can make a massive difference.

This was just done with in-game tools. The cinematic look is mostly adding a vignette and DoF. Both lay it on pretty heavy by default, so it will probably take a bit of messing around to get them looking more natural.

Pretty much, getting action shots in live games is way too difficult because of how the characters move. You gotta get lucky that some animation doesn't happen which ruins it or the person you're watching outright dying etc

all options are available regardless of which controller layout you use
