Just keep playing the game, practice and experience trumps all generally. When on attack, be methodical but aggressive. Look for flanking options and try to support your team. Smokescreens can be very helpful. When on defense, stick to the objectives and the approaches to them, and try to hit the attackers from fortified positions or from an angle they won't expect.

Please don't rush into dangerous situations, that's obvious, but it's the number one thing that'll get you killed. Move from cover to cover, and ask yourself questions like "how can I reach this objective safely?"
