BF5 fails at representing a game that feels alive while playing. It’s best at trying to deliver to the minority of battlefield fans which may I remind, there are barely any left. Battlefield 5 estimates show it sold less then 5 million copies. One of the lowest from the whole franchise.

Look at bad company 2. That game did an excellent job at immersing you into the world while preserving a skill based gameplay experience, which is why so many people consider it to be the highest of the franchise.

One thing to note--if it hadn't been for Battlefield 2 and Project Reality in the aftermath, there would have never been a Squad.

So the titles themselves can still serve to inspire further works and perhaps even some competition--that's a good thing in fact, because it means that developers have something to 'best' and the clear winners are the customers.

i always found the fall of europe more interesting than the actual liberation of it. we've already seen plenty of media surrounding that. the fall of it much less. i liked that of bfv, but a lot of people seemed not to care about it. they rather wanted lib of europe.
