i guess the difference between a shit recon player and a shit anything else player is that recon actually needs to be decently accurate to secure a couple kills, and often they don’t know what they’re doing with positioning and range
whereas a shit player picking up an smg can probably do a bit better just because smgs are fairly forgiving and you’re near more enemies

In the context of the BC2 meta, this was very evident. SMGs in the game were decent damage-dealers compared to even the LMGs, and tap-firing was commonplace.
Recons in the game vary, but usually picked the wrong specs for the engagement distance and type. Most targets were inside ACOG range in that game, and the worst Recons will unwaveringly use Magnum spec as either a crutch or a compensation. Worse yet, 12X Scope and Magnum rounds when dealing with midrange targets.

To an extent, but I have often seen it used as a crutch. As for aiming, it can get easier with resolution increases—as targets at range become easier to see—and higher refresh rates for much better tracking of targets in motion due to those being technological limitations on the player.
Raw skill and awareness is a much greater factor in aiming ability, however. What range you are able to clearly see, and at what rate you are you are able to see targets move are just added influencers to that.

they play out differently obviously, there's a difference between breakthrough and conquest... and the gameplay of conquest has more in common with deathmatch than breakthrough...

There's no common parts with conquest and death match other than you have to kill people in order to win or help the ticket drain

the only exception is conquest maps that are kinda linear.... like old bf4 op locker.... there were forced lines of scrimmage and you can get flanked... but I know ppl are very divided about whether op locker was a good map or not

it’s a different part of EA that does that, though the developers will do individual server maintenance stuff

10 different issues today trying to play with my mate
two squad disconnects, infinite loading, glitched inventory, could not fetch report. Whole UI decided to vanish along with sound, game decided it wanted to play in windowed mode after alt-tabbing. Combined operations just didn't load, sometimes it did but then my squadmate would DC. Sometimes he'd just get an endless loading screen instead. Then once the game actually worked for 5 minutes, we noticed some enemies weren't giving kill tickets, and some guns would just make a firing sound indefinitely
