The flak 38 needed a buff

Problem is

The flak 38 was balanced for the European maps

Not the pacific

So it was inferior to the 40mm aa when the British could build it

So that begun a negative spiral

With the geniuses at dice thinking "oh maybe the flak 38 needs the same range as the bofors" then now all aa guns can lock down supply zones in the European maps, a niche the old aa tanks which while annoying, its what made them relevant.

Infantry to plane balance has always been difficult for the Battlefield games. It's terrible even in Battlefield 4.
