I guess it's relative. Certain games load really fast nowadays, and Battlefield is just average on xbox. Also can't talk BF4, haven't played in years, and honestly was never a huge fan

Guess so. BF1 is my absolute favorite with Hardline and BC2 fighting for 2nd, BFV sitting 4th, and Battlefield 4 behind it. Oh, and 1941 sitting somewhere as an honorable mention, although I played it way past it's time, still holds up in some ways

Never played 2142, and I may remember it from BF4. I do distinctly remember playing a match where I was often spawning on a carrier, but that may have just been a map. I absolutely hate that modes were locked behind expansions, most of those modes were DOA

Could've been that but in a nutshell it was CQ that after some time you got a chance to attack a carrier head on
Board it with your teammates and destroy objectives
You could either do that, or continue playing it as if it was CQ and eventually you would've won by simply destroying their carrier with missiles that were fired from CQ flags

I think I played that, seems familiar enough. I liked that these expansion modes were usually new and unique, but at least on console they never lasted.

I liked Hardline's battlepack system way more than 4's since attatchment vouchers could be used on any gun, rather than get 1 attatchment for 1 gun you never use

Tbh the first game I played was battlefield 1 because it was free with Xbox live gold, so it could just be that it was the first game I played and then battlefield v is set in a similar time. ww1 and ww2 are not that different, at least from a battlefield game perspective
it was 21 years between the two, but a lot of the technology was fairly similar, just somewhat improved (at least at the start of ww2 as there was a lot of technological innovation during the war)

tbh i would say they’re very different gameplay wise. bf1 has more kinda “special units” (elite classes, behemoths, even cavalry) compared to any other battlefield game really, which is sometimes questionable - it often means there’s a lot less control over your death since some dude sprinting at you at bayonet charge speed with 500 health and a spiky club isn’t something you necessarily factor into your game plan
there’s no immediate counter to it and it’s also much harder to avoid than say, a tank which is also powerful but isn’t just a random 19 year old amped up on original recipe coca cola

My first game was battlefield 1 and I loved it which made me want to get battlefield v. I know pretty much everyone has problems with battlefield v and understandably so but I really enjoy playing it. I’m really not an experienced battlefield player at all so my opinion is kind of irrelevant. For me it has more to do with the gameplay and quality of life features added to the later games. For example, Battlefield 4's movement system feels incredibly limited compared to V's.
Although if I had to choose a setting, I'd choose the World War eras as my preferred.

@broken idol Battlefield V. Overall gameplay is excellent and feels generally fair. It's kind of in the middle between casual and hardcore with the pinging and attrition systems. Loads of guns. Pretty decent maps for both infantry focused and vehicle/combined arms focused players. Graphics are excellent, especially the particle effects.
Servers are generally active in all regions.
Can't say the same for Battlefield 1 or Hardline. I'm kind of surprised Battlefield 1 is already slowly losing players despite being the holy grail of Battlefields according to Reddit. 😛

Not all servers are dead on bf4 but it is hard to find a server without exploiters, true. So i would say your best bet is bf1, though bf3 does still have a decently large player base. All in all, thats your decision, lol
