Wow, I'm late but here's my professional opinion. BF3 was such a massive breakthrough for the franchise in so many ways, BF4 further built upon the success of BF3 and increased the "fun factor", BFH was a side step trying to see if spin-off approaches were possible (made some QOL improvements too), BF1 was a huge shift in the feel of the game which turned some of the older "OG" players away, and BFV was a massive mess and apparent lack of direction for where DICE wanted to take the game due to many decisions and going back on those decisions.

I don't think having a certain number of each class would really be useful.. it's all about how the individual player uses it. You could have 32 medics but if they don't revive or give meds, what's the point?
That's where the hardline QOL thing comes in where we can grab meds/ammo from the respective classes... still doesn't fix the fact that most medics run over your dead body

I get Battlefield is an arcadey-style game but I feel the game would be better suited with a little more teamplay integrated into it. We should want to play together as a team to win but seem to value the individual over the collective effort of the team. There are merits to playing both sides but I fully believe there can be a good mix of teamplay/individualism.
For the most part, I'm a support "main" and I frequently top the leaderboards by running and giving out ammo whenever/wherever I can, capping/defending objectives, and helping out the team in general. I don't always get the best K/D but the pilot tryhards who go 53-3 like to shit on me while they're losing because they didn't contribute to the success of their team. I love to fire back with "How does it feel to lose?" or something to that effect.

For me, it's felt like that since maybe Battlefield 4. The closest to "balanced" infantry to air combat I think I've seen was in Battlefield 1 where Supports could at least annoy planes with LMGs.
If we get a modern Battlefield game, I think it might be good to allow helicopter pilots to get damaged through the glass by infantry firearms. Kind of like how Far Cry or Ghost Recon does it. Jets...I dunno lol.

This is why I agree with you that KDR should be de-emphasized on the scoreboard. Too many people are too focused on their KDR that they don't focus on trying to win. If a player wants to see their KDR, they can look at their profile in the main menu.
