As far as I know, you have to wait for your squad to get wiped. So maybe move to a squad that has less players in them, then wait for them to die.

that’s why if i do play conquest i only really play tactical conquest, since there’s a better focus on infantry and you’re not constantly running about looking for a fight
i hated panzerstorm when it came out because it was only available on conquest and you kinda have to choose one bit of the map to fight over for the round as infantry

essentially that way (with bots) was default for learning the weapons...BF3 campaign was a departure from the norm....im with you I wish they would bring that back as I never play the campaigns. If I want single player I'll play a Far Cry title.
