within AA there are 3 major types of aim assist

not all games have the same level of individual AA mechanics but at least on console, theres very VERY few games that outright dont have at least snap and/or stick

for console, turning off aim assist (if you can) is basically putting yourself at a disadvantage no matter how you look at it

some people say "they got used to it and did better"

but AA is basically soft hacks, youre not going to be better than than that

theres just hundreds of other factors to why you are doing better after turning it off, compared to before, outside of aim itself (learning maps, mechanics, tendencies, etc)

the ONLY thing i can see turning AA off on console would help with is landing headshots, but even then idk if it is a worth trade (snap usually bring youre reticle close to center of body, hence why i think it could actually be detrimental to headshot accuracy)
