my granpda was stationed at Okinawa for 30 months as an army dog trainer, it was post-korean war but pre-vietnam. He trained the dogs but many of them were mostly trained so he more or less acted like a glorified handler/caretaker.... but he also got to go along on the missions that went around the pacific islands for things like supplies, troop transport, materials, etc... and was a cockpit guard on those planes and he was if i remember what he told me correctly issued an M1911 and an SMG, (i believe it was a Thompson.) and he got to fly to all those pacific islands and just travel around and stuff... every 6-8 months or so though he got flown over to japan where they bred the dogs and his job as the dog trainer would be to pick out like 12 new 8 week old puppies and then would spend all his time with this essentially pack of puppies plus all the adult dogs and would train them and take care of them (including playtime)
so basically my grandfather was stationed at okinawa for 30 months by the US army so that he could fly around the pacific and play with puppies

I know it's very common to praise BFV's gunplay and hate on the one from BF1, but I think after thorougly testing both, I'd rather have something closer to the gunplay of Battlefield 1 but with reduced spreads and recoil increases.
Shooting with most weapons without spamming or doing a very long burst, gunplay felt tight and good
it's only when those increases kicked in, that it felt wacky
in opposition, the gunplay in BFV due to the formula that converts spread into recoil, always does feel wacky
this is a subjective appreciation from me though
