I mean, skill based matchmaking really depends on each game - Siege has it on casual too, with a separate mmr ofc, and that game is very popular. And yup, balancing system needs to be improved, whenever I see that on my fifth match in a row I have the same squad against us that is obliterating everyone else it gets... hm, tiring.

with a medium tank damage model
basically best of both worlds

Yeah, they've slowly began pushing for an even easier gunplay system, and the 5.2 TTK compliments it well. For me personally, I enjoy recoil and difficult gunplay.
At this point, I'm okay with the 5.2 TTK if they want to keep it. It does work at the expense of some weapons being unbalanced. But that was arguably an issue in 5.0.
Well. Aside from the Breda and DMR's.
Personally, I'm already searching for a game that better fits the play style that I enjoy. But for those that do play the game longer than me, I hope the future content is good.

The m1907's recoil would often give me 20-25 M worth of range, and i could extend it with burst maybe with 5 - 10 more M. As such i would be rewarded.

It is really not too hard
It is definitely not the easiest thing though. What you gotta do is fly at like a ~10-30 degrees down or even more if you are dive bombing. Don't roll or yaw your plane. Then aim slightly above the target, the amount will depend on how steep your angle of attack is and how far you are from the target.
