@digital dew , i feel the ttk wasn't perfect pre5.2. ranged combat felt mweh. too many frustrating deaths by guns that are supposed to be medium to close range. snipers were a joke, because their guns got outsniped by, again, medium to close range guns. now it's finally at a point where the effective range of your gun matters. snipers are useful now as their guns are good for range. i'd say the only thing that was good and perfect were the medic's equipment pre5.2.

the point of me saying that is that its an example of how recoil to balance weapons is not really viable since you just pull down and now youre effective again

which leads to farther range specific weapons being pushed out

lots of pro scene games that have recoil as a balancing factor besides dmg tend to have the gun with fastest ttk being meta since pros can easily control it

pulling down being one way of controlling recoil, burst and tap firing are also effective

as long as dmg fall off isnt bad people will work around recoil to make it work for range
