my issue with the ttk update is the long range issues

Realism ties in with immersion, if you can't kill someone from close range with a full powered rifle, then you're experience isn't very immersive. Of course there has to be balance in a multiplayer shooter. There should be a limit to how unrealistic something is, however.
Which is why I think the fact that the mg42 takes 13 rounds to kill someone at long range as opposed to having its full strength of a 30 cal, 1000 rpm machine gun, with the downside of having massive recoil.
But no, they did only damage nerfs.
