okay this is my opinion why this patch is stupid
the intention of this change was,
A. to make each gun more useful and more useless in designated range
B. to make less popular gun popular
C. make the new player friendly firefight
and this patch has done non of this three, because
A. the intended range of each gun itself is pretty inconsistent, it's not like they made the smg entirely uselsss out of 10m, they just made the existing feature more severe and that feature was not even a selling point of BFV. most of the guns of BF1 was extremely useless out of its range, BFV is not, that's why people prefer BFV's gunplay basically.
B. The whole game is about picking the gun and "go to the right place". since playerbase-playstyle-prefered engagement range are not equally distributed, balancing guns based on that model is just fucking stupid and just self-contradictory.
C. This patch basically forces players to utilize "more positioning and well chosen gun in specific situation" rather than "aiming and shooting". and of course, new players can have sick aim but positioning and knowing which gun does what is just pure experience based. And new players don't even have a large choice of guns, they only got STG1-5, STEN, KE7, SMLE, and now they are "forced" to match their playstyle on that gun(not like they choose that one), it's not fundanmentally bad idea forcing to learn something but there's lot of things to learn and this patch just made noob life hard
and I'll just keep it as copypasta and refresh it every minute with variations till they fix the problem
