on the mainland in second life you have 40 000 256m x 256m parcels joined in a massive grid, it sounds an awesome concept on paper but in reality everytime you cross the border from one parcel to the next it can crash, lag for a few seconds shift you several meters, rubber band like crazy and it just gets worse with more people. Its a very tough ask.
