“BF4 was in a far worse state than BFV has ever been in, and this went on for months. The game crashed routinely (every third game ballpark) on all PC setups as well as all four consoles for two months. The first real patch didn't come out until after their Christmas break, your two weeks is just a flat out load of horseshit. Some PC setups still had issues for months. There was multiple game breaking bugs, like a silenced gun muting the whole server, people under maps, the game corrupting data everytime it started and loosing and settings and making the single player a mandatory one session play through, etc. These took anywhere from a month or half a year to sort out. EAs server hardware was completely inadequate and could not handle 64 players until well over a month after the third naval strike DLC came out, any remotely large map resulted in constant rubber banding for all player regardless of ping. The hit detection was completely broken for several patches, serious issue like double registering bullets. That's not to mention even the "fixed" state was still only a horribly inconsistent 10 Hz for over a year into its life. Balance was fucked, well beyond anything in BFV. Subsequent DLC patches only made things worse, with things like the UCAV or recon drone being released and completely destroying the gameplay (no hyperbole whatsoever) for a month. It took DICE LA months to fix balance, broken modes like rush, and shitty mechanic like visual recoil. And they didn't start any of this until at least 6 months in, let alone role it out and fix it.

As shitty as BFV is, even it's release state was as good as BF4 almost half a year in and after 3 DLCs. BF4 was quite possibly the biggest AAA trainwreck of the last decade that was by some miracle fixed. People need to stop forgetting just how absolutely shit BF4 was for an obnoxiously long time.”
